This morning I hit 16st I am so angry at myself as I worked hard to get down to 9st 10lb three years ago and I've messed it all up by mindlessly eating through boredom since leaving my ex.

So today I've dusted off my old mfp account and I'm starting again. I dont plan to eat diet crap just stick to my calories eating whatever fits in them and trying to walk more. Anyone want to join me?

Fizzyboo, I'm MrsJeffercake on Fitbit, I'll send you a friend request.

You are right spicy, if your head isn't in it you can't lose weight. Everything will be half arses. And then you fail and then you feel down and so comfort eat and the cycle continues.

Lemonsquinky · 07/03/2019 14:01

Congratulations World and Spicy for losing a stone already.
I had a migraine yesterday, I feel nauseous, which is good for hunger pangs. But my brain is too sore for exercise and I feel hungover and weak. Stupid body!

Spicylolly · 07/03/2019 14:45

Lemon that's pretty much how I started my fast, just wasn't hungry from feeling unwell...really gave me a kick start ☺

Fizzyboo · 07/03/2019 15:15

I do believe your head has to be in that sweet spot to be successful. Twice in my life I've lost 4+ stone despite constantly attempting to diet.

I don't even know what happened last time I lost it all. I reached target and perhaps I was too "I've finished" and well here I am again Confused

Got a LO this time though and I don't want her to grow up and have this same problem. Want this to be my third and last time and get off this feckin merry-go-round for good.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 07/03/2019 15:54

Thanks Spicy, and congratulations on your stone!!

I went up in weight for the first time yesterday. Pretty proud of that!!

Spicylolly · 08/03/2019 06:33

Morning! My 7 day fasting is up, about to weigh myself! Hoping I've lost that last pound and done a stone in 7 days.....off to the loo first to help lol
Still can't decide whether to just carry on with fasting, people have done 30 days when overweight and the losses are huge. Might just do OMAD.
Downside is no excercise is allowed while fasting but im getting the itch to start running again (weird!)

Anyway Happy International Women's Day everyone, good luck with whatever healthy things you're doing today, youve got this 💪

Omgineedanamechange · 08/03/2019 06:43

Bit late to the party but can I join? Need to lose 3 stone. Did it once before and then like an idiot, put it all back on. The annoying thing is that I was perfectly happy eating healthy food, but for some unfathomable reason, I made a conscious choice to go back to eating muck.

Started with weight watchers online two weeks ago and lost 4.5lbs so far. The big difference now, even from the last time I lost weight, is that I’ve cut back drastically on my drinking too. Love the way the WW app tracks my walking automatically and adds extra points as I earn them.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 06:51

Bit late to the party but can I check in?

•I’m currently 15stone 3/size 16.
•Never been less than 13 stone (obviously I have but wasn’t weighing myself as a child! Was 13 stone at about 13). Actually I got to a size 14 for my wedding, lost LOADS inch-wise but never weighed.
•been seeing my personal trainer for years, I’m strong and muscular (like my babies), but fat. 30% body fat so could be worse.
•DS2 born Nov17, so 16 months old. Weight is FINALLY starting to shift. I genuinely think my body just needs time to let go. I was 16stone2 this time last year so has taken a year of trying for me to lose 1 stone, now it’s starting to speed up I think :)
•don’t drink, smoke, eat meat or eat sugar
•this time last year I got back into running after having the baby but gave myself huge foot problems, didn’t stretch etc. Only just recovering now after lots of pilates and osteopathy. Have introduced running again this past fortnight, 2 mins running and 1 min walk for 20 mins. Not much but feeling great!
• my motivations are: turning 30 this year, DS1 starting school in sept and don’t want to be embarrassed to be ‘the fat mum’ at the school gates, want to be in best shape ever to get pregnant for third and final time next year.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 06:52

Oh also I’ve started using Happy Scale app app after seeing it recommended on MN, as I find the daily fluctuations in weight reeeeeally demotivating.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 06:54

Haha @omgi snap 😄

gassylady · 08/03/2019 07:04

Me too please have skim read a bit. Think I’ve found my people lots of other shorties! Three weeks ago my heaviest ever at 102kg. Started to reduce carbs reduce the mindless eating of biscuits etc and found a counsellor

Spicylolly · 08/03/2019 08:25

Hello new people waves

Weighed myself......put on a pound! Lol So that really goes to show that even if you're doing a great job your weight can go up!
I physically couldn't of put on a pound as not one morsel has gone in my mouth!

So anyway a massive 12lb loss in 7 days is still amazing and I've decided to keep going with the fast for now.
I'm going to try and not weigh myself until next Friday, then I will definetly stop as 14 days fasting is extreme for a beginner in fasting.
If I do get hungry or feel unwell of course I will start the refeed process 😀

So that lovely bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge will just have to wait, that's the real test of willpower!
I've taken some 'before' photos today as I wish I had done it last week so I might be brave enough to post my results next week.
So as of today I'm 15s 9lbs (5 ft 8).......let's see what I am this time next week! 👍😊💪

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 09:13

@spicy so have you literally not eaten for 7 days????

Belindabelle · 08/03/2019 10:33

Spicy be careful. Get yourself some Marigold bouillon or similar as you will be losing salts. Also look at taking some sort of fizzy vitamin and mineral tablet to balance your electrolytes.

Worlds0kayestmum · 08/03/2019 11:49

Lunchtime is a real struggle for me. My toddler naps between 1 and 3 and I feel like I work my way through my daily calories during that time. I've bought a colouring book to distract me but I find it really hard. Does anyone have any lunch suggestions around the 400kcal mark? I can't eat low kcal crisps because I have no self control 😔 thanks

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 12:01

Sweet potato toast is my faaaave. 3 thin slices of sweet potato in the toaster on highest setting. Might need 2 goes. Hummus, red pesto, baby spinach, portobello mushroom or egg on top 😋😋😋 comes out at 356 on my MyFitnessPal and feels sooooo nourishing :)

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 08/03/2019 12:05

I've put on 2kg today. No idea why. Doesn't really align with my cycle, I don't think I overate yesterday. I didn't make it out for a walk because the weather was horrible and work was manic...

Feeling a bit demotivated today!

I'd be interested in fasting for quicker results which would get me started, but DP would absolute hate me not eating.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/03/2019 12:46

Would you do something like Cambridge Weight Plan (now 1:1 Diet) for a kick start, instead of DH hating you fasting? I did CWP this time last year, lost 13lbs in 4 weeks and kept it off. Would have been a great kick start if I could have kept the momentum up 😄

Spicylolly · 08/03/2019 13:46

Belinda the general consensus from those who have studied fasting and those who have done it is no supplements are needed if you aren't doing it for longer than 14 days but if you feel dizzy or sick to have some salt in your water Hmmm yum haha
To be honest the minute I start feeling ill in anyway shape of form I'm going to stop! For now I feel like super woman so I'm going to carry on.
I'm just watching a YouTube video about someone whose done a 5 dry fast, now that is hardcore...no food or water at all, not even washing, brushing teeth or washing hands....not even to go out in the rain! Errrr no thanks! 😆

Belindabelle · 08/03/2019 14:08

I know a fair bit about fasting and have done it myself many times. Only trying to be helpful. I find a daily supplement helps combat cramp and that slight headache that I sometimes get.

Spicylolly · 08/03/2019 14:21

Sorry wasn't being arsey, appreciate the advice x luckily no cramps or headaches so far for me 👍☺

KateGrey · 08/03/2019 14:22

Can I join you? I need to shift 5 stone. If anyone wants to buddy up do pm me.

Fizzyboo · 08/03/2019 22:33

Quite the opposite of fasting here today... I ate half a coffee and walnut cake Confused

I worked until 2am and then was up at 7am to deep clean the house before it was to be inspected... I did well until after dinner...

Breakfast - Pot of coffee
Lunch - poached egg on toast
Dinner - 5 bean chilli with 2 low cal wraps and salad

Then... I was overcome with tiredness and nibbles and so found myself across the road buying gin and cake. And ate two crumpets on top Blush

This is definitely my weak point. Evening snacks. I'll be angelic all day then wreck it post 9pm. Anyway. Posting here for accountability, pissed off with myself.

VictoriaBun · 09/03/2019 09:27

Fizzyboo
It's probably a ' trick ' you already know. But have you tried cleaning your teeth in the evening whenever you get the urge to eat in the evening ? It works for some !
Also cut up loads of veggies, and make up some dip of some type so that you have it ready for when the munchies hit. * Disclaimer* I don't often listen to my inner Angel ! 👼

Fizzyboo · 09/03/2019 12:06

@VictoriaBun yep I know if, but perhaps I actually need to implement it!

In a bizarre turn of events, I'm actually down 1lb this morning so perhaps the gin and cake diet is a winner after all Wink
