Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

I’m in-seem to have failed to stop ramming rubbish in my mouth since beginning of December.

YouBoggleMyMind · 20/01/2019 23:13

Me! I have no will power! I really need to get my head in a good space!!

MrsMummyBx · 20/01/2019 23:14

@superram brilliant. Let’s do it! I have basically rid the house now of all the junk (by eating it) so I’m good to go...

@youbogglemymind I have no willpower either. I have the odd day of being really strong and then I slip. I’m definitely an emotional eater and need to curb that association...! I also do a lot of “celebratory eating”, end of my working week so I will buy a load of chocolate...NO MORE! I think I’m going to try and reward myself some other way if I stick to my diet, eg getting a manicure etc. How to motivate and stay on the straight and narrow and keep goals in mind?

@MrsMummyBx I like wine and the Christmas chocolate has been a total nightmare!! It's nearly all gone now so that's good! I've been using MyFitnessPal to track food but it's been very hit and miss since before Christmas.

MrsMummyBx · 20/01/2019 23:33

I’ve just logged into MFP and depressingly have put on nearly 3st since I started using the app in 2015! I haven’t used it for months so fresh start for me...
Target 1200 cals
Going to try and walk 10,000 steps a day (I’m really lazy so this is going to be difficult)

Good luck tomorrow ladies!!

I'm going to giving myself more than 1200, I can do that low for a little while then find it unsustainable. I think mines set to 1370 at the moment. It's all linked to my Fitbit too. I just need to get my head in gear and stop saying "oh I'll start tomorrow!"

TinselAndKnickers · 21/01/2019 12:43

Morning everyone! I'm going to join as somehow I have ballooned.. I can't even blame Christmas Blush I'm going to be doing a mix of calorie counting, low carb and the 16:8 fasting window Smile basically chucking everything at the problem Grin

Holiday in April, hoping to drop a dress size or two by then!

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/01/2019 13:13

So far, so good.

Coffee for breakfast and Coffee and 1 caramel digestive at Toddlers.

Lunch, 2 poached eggs on toast and another instant coffee.

Dinner I've got out Chinese pork loin steaks to have with a big green salad and 0% Greek yogurt for pud. Still got calories left in case of more coffee!!

MrsMummyBx · 21/01/2019 13:53

Morning all

Not doing too badly- shake for brekkie and salad for lunch (with olive oil unfortunately but never mind). Soup for dinner!

Not sure how I’m going to do my 10000 steps though??

Hello!

Can I join you all please?

I am sort of dieting, but starting in earnest on Wednesday.

I am 5’8” and 12 stone 4. I would like to lose about 2.5 stone overall, but 10lbs would be a great start and would just nudge me back into a healthy bmi range.

I am doing Jane Plan. I’ve ordered my menu, but it won’t arrive till tomorrow at the earliest. Rather annoying, as it was meant to arrive today, but it has not Hmm.

Anyway, today has been a bit of a mixed bag...

B; builders tea & 2 scones Blush
L; homemade fruit, veg & chia smoothie & boiled eggs on the side
D; roast chicken & veg

Not fantastic, but could be worse, seeing as I haven’t officially started yet. I am trying to work on some bad habits, (eg scones for breakfast Confused), for a couple of days before the diet properly commences.

That’s the theory anyway Grin.

TinselAndKnickers · 21/01/2019 13:56

Chubsy, don't worry - I had a brownie for breakfast BlushAngry

Breakfast - Leftover birthday brownie.
Lunch - spicy brown rice with chicken, peppers and onion
Dinner - jacket potato with beans and cheese.

Not the best but I have two exams this week so I'm not going to be too hard on myself Grin

ChubsyMcChubFace · 21/01/2019 15:38

Cheers tinsel. Glad it isn’t just me!

MrsMummyBx · 21/01/2019 15:48

Chubby- scones for beeline sound yum!!! Smile

Ok so I went out with my Mum this afternoon and we had coffee and cake... we did share the cake though and it was a skinny latte... I have tracked it on MFP though and we walked by the river before hand. Still within my daily calories at the moment!

MrsMummyBx · 21/01/2019 18:18

@youbogglemymind sounds like a lovely afternoon! Honestly I think we need to allow ourselves these little treats now and again otherwise a complete ban for me = binge about a week later.

For me, I’m approaching things this time that as long as I’m within limit on MFP then I’m ok!

I was meant to do 10,000 steps and I’ve only done 1,500. Think I need to factor this into my routine better!

Can I join too please. I’m 12st 2lbs. Would like to lose a stone. I’m trying the 16:8 diet. I’ve eaten between 10am and 6pm. I will now fast until 10am tomorrow. Going forward I’d like to do 18:6 but will start with 16:8.

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/01/2019 18:34

Sounds very sensible! I do struggle to do 10,000 steps so set mine to 7,500 and even then I don't always manage it! I may try and do fasting (I almost do this most days in the week anyway), I just struggle to not snack in the evening!

TinselAndKnickers · 21/01/2019 19:29

I managed 2700 steps today so not bad as I only walked to and from the exam hall Grin

Half an hour left of my eating window.. might treat myself to some halo top cinnamon roll ice cream!

MrsMummyBx · 21/01/2019 22:44

Evening everyone. I had a pretty decent day today, other than the exercise aspect.

My number one problem is when I’m at home and I have got my little one down for a nap, I watch tv and eat biscuits/cake etc as a reward/break. I work part time and my working days are fine as I don’t get the chance to eat bad food. Does anyone else have this issue being at home and what do you do to overcome it??

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 21/01/2019 23:15

I've also finished today in the green on MyFitnessPal and on my Fitbit. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I am a terrible snacker and I'm always hungry (even when I'm not hungry!). The only thing I can think of is eating things like fresh fruit and veg instead of a biscuit or crisp or just continuing to keep yourself busy so you don't the opportunity to sit down and have a snack. It's so bloody hard though Sad

ChubsyMcChubFace · 22/01/2019 08:46

Morning all!

Better start today; builders tea but no scones yet, (because I ate them all yesterday). Awaiting text from Dpd to say when they will deliver my Jane plan stuff. If it doesn’t arrive today, I’m just going to cancel and do my own thing. It was very expensive and I’m a bit miffed at them being late with it.

Anywho, hope everyone else is doing well.

Does everyone have a Fitbit? Do I need to buy one of these things?? They seem like such a big part of dieting these days.

TinselAndKnickers · 22/01/2019 08:50

Morning! Good that it's off to a better start. I'll be fasting until 12 (apart from tea!). I'm going out for a friend's birthday tonight so won't be too great so I'll make good choices until then Grin

Chubsy, I don't have a Fitbit! Youuuu are not aloooneeeeThanksGrin

MrsMummyBx · 22/01/2019 09:25

Morning everyone! Hope everyone has a good day.

Chubsy I do have a Fitbit but I’ve lost it somewhere at home!! It is helpful but defo not absolutely necessary in my opinion. I’m using the app on my iPhone to monitor my steps.

About to have my brekkie diet shake. I’m out for lunch but will have to make healthy choices somehow!
