Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

Andddd a maintain for me since my last mini weigh, however that's still a loss of 3lb within the last week!Grin

recklessgran · 01/05/2019 09:07

Morning everyone this weigh day Wednesday.
Thrilled to report that I have lost 1.75lbs sine last Wednesday but actually 2.5lbs since I starter the one meal a day on Saturday!
So, for clarity;
Last Wednesday; 13st 4.25lbs
Today 13st 2.5lbs
[Saturday's weight 13st 5lbs.
Hoping this isn't beginner's luck but we will see when I weigh again on Saturday.
Well done everyone and @Tinsel 3lbs in a week? I can only dream......

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/05/2019 09:35

Well done ladies!
Don't be disappointed Emily, a lb is great. Get some visuals on what a lb looks like and you'll feel happier. I'm just sorting DS and I'll hop on the scales!

emilyjeff · 01/05/2019 09:43

Well done Tinsel 3lbs in a week is fab!
And Reckless gran, sounds like the one meal a day is working well for you :)
Thanks Boggle I googled what does 1lb look like and feel a bit happier now :) Plus, if I lose 1lb a week for 7 weeks that would be half a stone!
This is why I need this group, if I was doing this alone and lost 1lb I'd be like ah f**k it I've only lost 1lb I'm going back to eating whatever I like!!

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/05/2019 10:21

Sunday 12st 6lbs
Today 12st 4.2lbs

Pretty pleased with that and it's all down to much better meal choices in the evenings! Yay 😁

TinselAndKnickers · 01/05/2019 10:31

A good week all round!! Well done everybody 💗

recklessgran · 01/05/2019 10:59

Well done all of us - just shows what a bit of solidarity can do sisters! I know I would definitely not still be trying if it wasn't for you lovely lot. Friends don't get it and think I look fine and say at my age why am I worried? DD's are just wonderful but I certainly wouldn't want to worry them with my problems. God knows life is hard enough without your mum needing support when my role in life is to love and support them!
So, I guess this is a great big thank you!
Have a great and sensible day everyone [in food terms anyway.]

TinselAndKnickers · 01/05/2019 23:19

Long busy day! I agree, this thread helps me get a grip when I need it most and gives me a laugh and picks me up when I'm down. My mumsnet besties Grin

Hope everyone's day has gone okay!

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/05/2019 23:26

All ok here. Bit of a lazy food day with pizza for lunch and pasta for dinner but I'm back to bbq pork loin and salad tomorrow 👌🏼 any exciting weekend plans?

TinselAndKnickers · 01/05/2019 23:28

I'm off to London for the night tomorrow morning! Seeing what DP has planned Hmm think we will use his shard voucher I got him for his birthday!

Then I'm making my first ever baby shower cake order at the weekend - so excited!!💙

recklessgran · 02/05/2019 15:26

Just checking in - trying to distract myself as I feel starving today for some reason. Still sticking with the one meal a day though as I'm convinced it's working for me.
No particular plans for the Bank Holiday weekend. Not sure whether or not any of the DD's will turn up - time will tell.
@YouBoggle I love this thread! On that subject, does anyone know how to make a follow2 on as I think our fred is nearly full and I have no idea. @Tinsel have a lovely time in London. Hope you manage to rekindle your romance. Being loved is such a lovely thing.... Watch out you lot I'm in danger of getting all soppy.....

TinselAndKnickers · 02/05/2019 17:53

Quick check in - going well so far, in terms of enjoying it! Not calorie wise though.. strict weekend ahead to make up for it!

Reckless he loves me lots and is very nice but I'm just not feeling up to it! Don't know why. I need a good shake. Ps I will make a new thread when the time comes for us Wednesday weighersGrin

recklessgran · 03/05/2019 18:21

Good evening everyone. I've been out for lunch with b/f and had cheese salad sandwich, crisps and a JD and coke. So, not stuck with the one meal a day thing today. I'm fine with that as going straight back on it tomorrow - no big plans for the weekend. On other news GP phoned yesterday to say my second thyroid blood test was back and surprised I'm still standing. Asked to repeat again in a week and then she will see me to discuss medication. By my understanding that's probably why I still haven't lost a stone in 3 months! Anyway hope all is well with the rest of you.

TinselAndKnickers · 03/05/2019 19:49

Well done reckless that sounds lovely! Good mindset. Oh no! Well at least you've got some answers now and hopefully see some results! Fingers crossed for you

Not eaten since 10am and done 6 miles - home now so going to have a curry Smile

recklessgran · 04/05/2019 08:31

Well, I've done my weigh in which was to establish how much weight I would lose in a week of eating one meal a day. I am still 13st 2.5lbs as I was on Wednesday. I was 13st 5lbs last Saturday so that's a loss of 2.5lbs in a week. A lot better than my usual "pound if I'm lucky" so I'm sticking with this apart from om Fridays when I go out for lunch with friends. Hope everyone's O.K. and enjoying the sunshine. Beautiful morning here - just a bit chilly.

MrsMummyBx · 04/05/2019 08:32

Hi ladies so sorry I’ve been absent, I’ve been up north on a working holiday(?!?) and came back on Monday absolutely knackered. I weighed myself on Wednesday and I’m 13st 9lb which is the lightest I’ve been for a while - I can’t eat big portions at the mo as I feel queasy so I’ve inadvertently losing a couple of pounds which I’m not complaining about. My belly on the other hand looks huge and I’m going to have to disguise it for the next month until I can tell work! Hope you’re all well and have a lovely bank holiday weekend xx

I've stuck with my one meal - quiche and salad but I had some chips with it. Hope that won't scupper things too much. How's everyone else doing?

TinselAndKnickers · 04/05/2019 21:53

Hi all - been a total fat bastard this weekend. Will be next weekend too for my besties big birthday. Oh well Grin two small meals a day tomorrow Monday Tuesday to make up for it I think.

recklessgran · 05/05/2019 21:35

Been pottering about today and have fallen off the wagon a bit. I've had a couple of biscuits and a couple of slices of toast and marmite as well as a ham and egg salad. Oh well, it's the weekend so I'm allowing myself a bit of leeway. Will be strict again from tomorrow.
I'm a bit worried about how quiet it is here? Is anybody still there?

TinselAndKnickers · 05/05/2019 22:29

Me - I'm just being a fat cow still! BlushFallen deep back into my depression the last few weeks and I've realised it now. So gutted as I worked so hard** to get my head all better. Ah well Smile still have you lovely lot!

Reckless I wish I liked marmite!

MrsMummyBx · 06/05/2019 00:01

@tinsel really sorry to hear you’ve not been feeling great the last few weeks. We are here if you need us Flowers

@reckless don’t worry if you think you fell off the wagon a bit, it’s the weekend. I’m really trying to be healthy but it’s sooo hard (and those yum yums were too appealing when I went into the kitchen just now!!)

OP posts:
TinselAndKnickers · 06/05/2019 00:05

Thank you MummyB! I love yum yums.. so aptly namedGrin

recklessgran · 06/05/2019 10:40

Ahhh @Tinsel I'm so sorry you're not feeling good - I'm sending you a big fluffy cushion of love and well wishes to sit on until you feel better. Have you got RL people you can talk to about how you're feeling? @Youmummy hope you are keeping well and making healthy choices for your darling little one - more important than worrying about your weight at this stage IMO.
Sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm STILL 13st 2.5lbs. I feel like I've been stuck there for weeks and just can't get below it no matter what. I'm hoping the repeat blood test this week will finally lead to meds that might help!
Yes to Yum Yums - my DH loves those and will eat a whole pack in a day. I will try to avoid toast today and go back to my one salad a day thing. I want to break that weight barrier by Wednesday's weigh in.
@YouBoggle and @emily are AWOL! I hope they're O.K.
Will update this evening. For now I need to get off my bum and MOVE.

YouBoggleMyMind · 06/05/2019 11:43

Hi 👋🏻 I am still here!
Sorry it's been a busy few days with my DNS 4th birthday party and then DH and I went to football yesterday.

Things haven't been too bad but not amazing here. I can't imagine I've lost any weight but I feel a bit more even about everything.

Sorry you're not feeling so good Tinsel, is there anything we can help with. Do you have a support network? Family? GP? Counselling?
