Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

4lb down already Shock that's fantastic!

I'm absolutely freezing which is apparently a sign I'm in ketosis... or just that its -1 outside Grin

MrsMummyBx · 23/01/2019 09:55

@justneedakindwordortwo thank you! It’s a good start but I think mostly water. I usually lose well the first week and then plateau the second. I just need to keep motivated. I’ve got a lot to lose!! I have been remembering to enter all my food in MFP and that’s definitely helping my feeling of accountability. Really good to have the support of everyone going through the same thing from our little group too :-)

WEIGH IN:

Last weigh (Monday): 13st 12
Today: 13st 11

Not too bad considering I went out for a birthday meal. Well done everybody some good results!

MummyB make sure you enjoy your meal - this is not a miserable diet, this is a jolly get-less-fat-attempt Grin

WEIGH IN

12st 6.2lbs

Not sure how but I'll take it!

Must be better today!

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/01/2019 10:43

Welcome everyone, the more the merrier!

I've got a quiet day today but making lasagne for tea so it's going to be portion size for me that makes a huge difference!

TinselAndKnickers · 23/01/2019 12:00

Boggle, I'm the same. When I research how much one portion size actually is, I'm shocked Blush I must have the appetite of an elephant!

Tinsel- totally agree with you- I’ve tried so many diets before that have failed because a certain food type is excluded etc. I will enjoy tonight but be mindful of what I’m eating. I’ve had a shake for brekkie and lunch to allow me a bit more for dinner. I’m going to check how many cals a glass of wine is (maybe I don’t want to know!) Wine

Same - low carb is just not how I roll!! That's the best way to be Grin

Breakfast - builders tea (which I normally hate!) and some apple.

Lunch - wholemeal toast with poached eggs and some bacon Grin

Got 800 calories left so definitely going to have a snack this evening and already can't wait!

Justneedakindwordortwo · 23/01/2019 13:58

I'm on cambridge step 2 so today is 3 products plus a 200cal high protein meal should i want it < yes I wanted it>

Breakfast: shake
Lunch: small chicken breast and some courgetti
Dinner: shake
Snack: bar

Today's total is 800cals with the bar...600 if i go without it. Weirdly I'm not hungry at all!

ChubsyMcChubFace · 23/01/2019 14:12

low carb is just not how I roll!!

Just as well, since rolls are high carb! Haaaa! Ahem, sorry. .

Sounds like everyone is doing really well. I have been on the “very-vague-chubsy-original-diet”. Not overeating and no sweet stuff or “bad” snacks, (obviously the occasional treat is fine).

I felt a bit let down by Jane Plan, as it was £££££ and I had specified a particular day to start, which they then failed to deliver in time for. So now, I’m doing my own thing. Hope I don’t regret it!

B; one piece of toast and a scrambled egg
L; small portion of homemade chicken & chickpea curry with rice
D; don’t really know, but I think it will involve tofu and rice noodles...

Snacks; tea, coffee, fruit & veg

I am also planning to do Jillian Michaels’ 30 day shred dvd today. I’m quite unfit right now, so wish me luck!

TinselAndKnickers · 23/01/2019 15:00

Grinbloody hell what am I in for on this thread!!

My "diet" is also very vague! That's shite of Jane and her crappy plan. Jillian Michaels ... you are BRAVE! After my first half stone I'm going to try that

ChubsyMcChubFace · 23/01/2019 15:50

I know... I’m so, so sorry . That’s what happens when you let any old dieter on these threads! Terrible, terrible puns ensue.

Yeah, Jane can do one, ha!

I haven’t actually located the JM dvd yet, so my bravery might not actually be all that impressive. At least it’s only 20 mins...? 20 mins of AGONY GrinSad.

MrsMummyBx · 23/01/2019 16:17

Hi Chubsy sorry you had a bit of trouble with the diet plan you were going to follow. Honestly think doing your own thing will be just as good.

I’ve had a shake for lunch and dinner and now am STARVING!!!

ChubsyMcChubFace · 23/01/2019 16:28

Stay strong mummybx! You’re doing so well. What nice dinner have you got planned? Are you allowed some snacks?

Thanks, it is a bit irksome about the plan, but tbh, it was so expensive that I was hesitant anyway. The disorganisation and lateness just nudged me into making a decision not to do it. Just awaiting refund.

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/01/2019 18:04

Ive done WW before and lost but gained it all back again the instant I stopped! So binned that off! Plus it's £££ I cant really spend. I'm just going off my TDEE minus 500 so I try and lose that 1lb a week I'd like to. It's all very hit a miss though 😏

TinselAndKnickers · 23/01/2019 18:31

Same here Boggle! Its a lot higher than I thought, no wonder when I attempted the 5:2 diet it nearly killed me Grin

I'm having a chicken Balti for dinner with rice. The end of January is busy for me as I have exams (full time student!) and I am going for a girly spa break for 4 days on Sunday, so won't be very "on plan" Blush but it's better to make slightly better choices than overindulge blindly.. or so I'm telling myself!

What's everyone having for dinner?

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/01/2019 19:16

I love a spa! Have you been to Thermae Spa in Bath?

Got home made lasagne and low fat garlic bread for dinner here. I may or may not have started drinking wine...

I did have poached eggs on toast for lunch and a tunnocks caramel waffle bar but that's it so far for today.

ChubsyMcChubFace · 23/01/2019 19:25

Ugh I’ve just made the classic mistake of eating my children’s leftovers. I think it’s because I get all hurt that they’ve turned down my lovingly prepared food, so I stuff it down my throat. Silly! Need to nip it in the bud. Maybe I’ll start making more casseroles that can be left for another meal if dcs decide they don’t want it.

I quite liked the looks of 5:2 tinsel! Is it dreadful then?

Good luck with exams and enjoy spa EnvyGrin! I bet you will get healthy food options there.

TinselAndKnickers · 23/01/2019 19:28

Nope I haven't.. just googled and it looks amazing! Mmmm lasagne and garlic bread sounds incredible.

Thanks Chubsy, well personally 2 days of 500 calories is not not realistic for me, and I think it's one of those things you'd get used to. If I was home all day I'd be able to, but I don't know what the day is going to be like stress wise! Grin

ChubsyMcChubFace · 23/01/2019 19:30

boggle, I may also be having a small beverage of the alcoholic variety. Cheers to you.

I have also tried WW and wasn’t keen personally.

ChubsyMcChubFace · 23/01/2019 19:33

Hmmmm yes, I know what you mean re stress and hanger! I don’t know if I could get through a stressful day on 500 calories. It’s funny, my dh CAN’T eat when he’s stressed; I can’t seem to stop when I am! That’s why I’m overweight and he’s on the skinny side I suppose.

Justneedakindwordortwo · 23/01/2019 20:00

Dinner was porridge... Today's total is 680calories and weirdly I don't feel any hungrier than I would if I'd eaten usual amounts.

Tomorrow is day 4 of 600-800 cals so expecting it to be harder :/

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/01/2019 20:10

Lasagne was good. I want more... must resist!

I defo recommend the spa in Bath!

My DS is still pretty small 13m so not really that interested in eating his left overs just yet but I'm sure it'll come!!
