Oh and a massive search on recipes. So if anyone needs any receipes of any sort let me know and I will do a search for you.

Celery · 30/06/2007 11:23

I'm doing it online too. Whoops, what an amazing weight loss!

Roast vegetables with Frylight spray - I have these most days, it's my life saver.

I try to eat home made fresh stuff most days, but do occasionally have a ready meal. I don't think much of the WW range tbh, but the M&S count on us range is really nice. M&S does a lovely low fat soft cheese with pepper, that's really low in points.

Prawns feature quite a lot, they are expensive, but they are SO low in points. When I get bored with ryvita I have corn cakes ( like rice cakes, but nicer ), they're yummy.

Chocolate treats are usually milky ways for 2 points, or maltesers for 3 points.

Marshmallow Pink and Whites are only 0.5 points each, good for a quick sugar fix.

snowwonder · 30/06/2007 11:37

my saviours, are the ww mailted danish bread i put 2 slices on the plate and spread with humous and load up with salad, eat with knife an fork so i feel like i am having something proper,

also tesco h/l dutch crispbakes,,, spread thinky with houmous and sliced cucumber and drizzed with sweet chilli sauce i sometimes have 4 of these in the evening, crispbreads are 1/2 point each + topping

HappyMillicent · 30/06/2007 12:01

Can anyone tell me how many points I should eat per day? I want to lose 6 pounds, currently weigh 9st1. Can't attend meetings, or justify online expenditure!

Celery · 30/06/2007 12:07

Happy Millicent, if you can tell me your age, height, and whether you spend most of the day sitting, a mixture of sitting and standing, or on your feeting walking around most of the day, I can work out how many points you need. You can buy booklets with points values etc on eBay.

HappyMillicent · 30/06/2007 12:12

THANKS CELERY! I am 5'4 and I spend my day at home running around after a toddler (mix of sitting and standing?). I'm 28, I just can't lose those last few pounds. SORRY FOR THE HIJAK! Good luck everyone!

Celery · 30/06/2007 12:24

HM, you are on 20 points a day at the moment, but when you drop down to 8 stone something, you'll go down to 19 points.

HappyMillicent · 30/06/2007 12:27

Brilliant, thank you Celery! Humous and butternut curry herre I come!

whoops · 30/06/2007 14:02

Wow you lot are chatty!
Someone was asking about exercise, I usually do 30 mins walking on the treadmill then a bit (whateverI can manage) on a cross trainer or I'll swim at least 30 lengths of the pool, I usually go about 5 times a week but that is my choice as I'm really enjoying the weightloss at the moment plus I want to be fit for the start of the hockey season too.
It was my Birthday last week and some friends bought me a voucher for a local hair salon so I've just been and treated myself to a restyle although I don't think it will ever look the same as the salon did it again!!
Another tip someone gave me for weightloss is pink grapefrut fruit & barley squash I drink at least a litre a day at work but don't want to stop to find out if it helps or not

BernieBear · 30/06/2007 16:38

Mmm think I may need to start focussing on exercise. Have just dusted of my Davina Power of 3 DVD (never opened ) and wonder if I can squeeze in a 20 minute workout in the evenings.

Celery - what do you do with prawns? Quite fancy the idea of those. I am using Turkey at the moment in stir frys and currys. But prawns sound good.

snowwonder · 30/06/2007 17:03

is that the robinsons squash? i will try anything!!!

Celery · 30/06/2007 17:10

I use prawns in stir frys, and also with pasta, in a tomato and veg sauce. You can also add it to risotto's and other rice dishes. Good luck with Davina, it's a killer - but get's easier if you persevere. I like the Claire Sweeney WW one, but I've put my back out somehow, and haven't been able to exercise all week - feel really crap because of it.

Carmenere · 30/06/2007 17:20

A prawn sandwich is often a safe option when you are out. As long as it is not swimming in full fat mayo that is.

BigGitDad · 30/06/2007 22:14

I'd like to join in , I have a work colleague who is on a weight watchers diet and she has got me the relevant books etc and so I have followed that path although I do not go to the meeting due to the lack of time.
However I have got a point calculator which I have found excellent as you just use it to work out the points when often the book does not have the right product in it's pages. (for example it means you can compare sandwiches when you are getting your lunch etc) I think you can buy it on the web site.
As for excercise I have just ordered a turbo trainer, it is an attatchment that you put onto your bicycle so you can pedal whilst staying still but still have some resistance against the back wheel. Alot of top cyclists use them as part of their training regime.

Hello BGD

Would anyone like to share their menu plan for today? Here's mine:

I'm being lazy today and not cooking ( we had a roast yesterday )

B: special k red berries with skimmed milk 2.5p

L: Sainsbury's easy steam salmon meal 5.5p

D: Pasta (3) with prawns and veg (1) in a tomato sauce (1)

With snacks to make up the rest of the points: fruit, corn crackers, maybe a low fat pud.

whoops · 01/07/2007 07:32

Snowwonder - yes I buy the Robinsons one - it is on BOGOF in Tesco at the moment!

Celery - I'm the same about exercise dh has been on late shift all week so I've not been able to get to the gym

My Menu plan for the day is

B Coco Pops + Semis skimmed milk 4.5p

L: Not sure yet probably soup and bread whic would be about 6p

D: Roast Pork with Veg and I'll have roasted butternut squash instead of potatoes proabably be about 10p

For snacks I'll have walkers french fries, Pink n Whites and the apple and cinnamon bites from ww.

If anyone wants any of the books or points calculator or any ww products let me know and I'm happy to get them for you and post on

BernieBear · 01/07/2007 09:21

Good idea - Also could someone please confirm the points value for rice (i.e. 75g uncooked) it seems to differ all over the place.

Breakfast - sugar/salt reduced muesli and fat free yoghurt. 3pts

Lunch - have no idea at the moment

Dinner - Turkey, Butternut and mushroom curry with rice. 7.5 pts.

Anything left over will be spent on treats.

Am off shopping tomorrow so will get some prawns to liven things up a bit. Any other ideas?

No exercise today, but have 2 x 2 hour walks tomorrow and when my ds is with his dad am planning my first run in 5 years

BernieBear · 01/07/2007 09:25

sorry make that 2 x 1 hr walks tomorrow

Carmenere · 01/07/2007 09:31

Right, I fell at the first fence last night and went over my points. I reckon I had about 4 points too many(wine dontcha know) so I will be economising on points today.

Breakfast
2 x WW toast with marmite 2
Lunch
No point soup and 2 pieces of home made bread 3

Dinner
Quorn burgers with home fries and salad about 10 I reckon.
The rest will be made up in fruit.

Celery · 01/07/2007 09:45

75g of uncooked rice is 4 points.

BernieBear · 01/07/2007 09:54

Thank you.

Shall we note when our weigh days are?

Mine is tomorrow. Although do worry about my scales as they can differ around 4lbs at any one time.

Celery · 01/07/2007 10:34

Well, I way myself every day which I know is WRONG, but I can't help myself. Official weigh in ( even though I'm doing it at home online ) is first thing Monday morning. I always weigh myself after I've been to the loo and before I eat anything.

BernieBear · 01/07/2007 10:40

Okay Celery - see you back here tomorrow. Was 12stone last Monday. Hope hope hope I have lost some as I put on last week. (Camping trip last weekend with wine and naughty food)

Anyone else fancy joining us for the grand monday morning weigh in?

whoops · 01/07/2007 12:01

My weigh in day is tuesday although I too have been weighing myself at home as I wanted to see if I had lost and then how quickly it was going back on after I had been ill!
I will be going to the gym tonight and will probably have a mega workout and maybe a swim!

BernieBear · 01/07/2007 14:21

Oooh go whoops, do a few lengths for me!
