Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

I need to lose 15-20kg (wow that seems a huge goal) I am going to try the 1000km running in 2019, add in some yoga and swimming and try vegan keto (which seems so limited I can’t imagine I can possibly fail to lose weight) I am edging ever closer to 40 and I just want to be fit and healthy and preferably not a heifer when I get there

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 12:48

@Little@ (love the NN btw!) Do it, girl.

I've just posted mine on a secret MH facebook I'm on. They're used to selfies in leggings and men's tees. All I've heard is "Christ...You've got a SHAPE under there!"

It will be painful. But you'll never look like that again.

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 12:51

Also, by starting on Tuesday, I'll be breaking the habit of forever Starting On Monday.

Anyone up for a Tuesday weigh in?

I'm happy to do a spreadsheet if anyone wants one, too!

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 12:53

My "accountability thread" btw...

@AFridgeTooFar I'm up for a Tuesday weigh in! Are you happy to start a separate thread (just for weigh in stats, no chat) on Tuesday to keep it all together?

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 13:35

Yup! And I'll keep the data too, if you like?

Fiontar649 · 30/12/2018 13:36

I am in.

I am 40 in 2020 too. I am lamenting my youth where I had a "lovely wee figure" but thought I was a Heffalump. I can't roll back the years (nod to Mick Hucknall thread) but can hopefully set myself up for healthier and thinner 40s.

I do not want to be turning 60 in 2040, wishing I had done something now.

Will be back with my plan soon!

makingithappen · 30/12/2018 14:06

Awesome thanks @AFridgeTooFar

sherrysfortea · 30/12/2018 18:20

I'm also going to be eating less meat. I was a vegetarian for two years and in the best shape ever, it was so much easier keeping weight off.

Will be trying to limit meat eating to 3 days a week!

TulipsInbloom1 · 30/12/2018 18:22

Anyone fancy adding current weight to the thread over NYE/NYD? Figured I could do a list and just keep it updated monthly? For those who want to track via weight rather than inches lost etc.

Oops just seen the Tuesday thread! Will join

I can walk to work in around 50mins and there are 3 days a week I dont have the car so will walk in on those.

What are people planning on eating for breakfasts?

MummyItsallaboutyou · 30/12/2018 18:33

I'm in. Having spent much of my adult life bordering on underweight, it has crept up over the last 4 years. I bought some scales during the week and was horrified to now be in the overweight category. My aim is to lose 1.5 stone. Crisps, biscuits, cakes and Waitrose Lattes are banned. I plan to do at least 30 mins fast walking a day too.

makingithappen · 30/12/2018 18:36

@TulipsInbloom1 I have always struggled with breakfast. My children have porridge (very active kids) but I just cannot face such a heavy meal first thing. Over the last month I have just had coffee and have found it works better for me. Then some mixed nuts on my break at 11am - though I may have to switch that out to an apple and banana!

sherrysfortea · 30/12/2018 18:57

I'm not going to have breakfast, first meal will be a juice plus shake at about 12, with fruit, tomatoes and oatcakes.

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 19:16

I'll have a "fake" chicken curry recipe when I'm finally done writing it up, if anyone's interested?

MummyItsallaboutyou · 30/12/2018 19:58

I plan to eat big breakfasts. Something like avo on toast with a poached egg, then take a smooth to work. If I have a small breakfast, I'm hungry by the time I get to work.

certainlymerry · 30/12/2018 20:14

I am going to start on New Year's Day. I weighed myself this morning. Not sure how I'm going to do it yet. It's all about my motivation and mindset for me.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 30/12/2018 20:50

I’m in too! I’m 2.5 stone over my healthy weight, so I’m trying to steadily lose that (aiming for 2 stone in the short term / over 2019). I had eating disorders for years and have dieted most of my life, so I think part of my problem is I’m fatigued by the whole process. I would love to just be at peace with myself and eat healthily and lead an active life!

Another one who doesn't eat breakfast. I'm not really hungry first thing, and I'm starving by 11 wether or not I ate, so I don't bother! I've also always been slimmest when I just ate 2 meals a day, and breakfast seems the easiest to drop.

mrbob · 31/12/2018 05:35

Same here carrot in fact I get more hungry if I eat breakfast unless it is a massive brunch style affair.
Having said that the shiny new me arriving tomorrow will be having some kind of high protein shake thing for “breakfast” which will probably be mid morning

Magnificentbeast · 31/12/2018 07:43

I'm in. I have about 2 stone to lose. I think. I've been to scared to weigh myself.

I'm short so can't carry extra weight well. The menopause is really not helping either. It's also causing me aches and pains. I find yoga helps with this.

I'm going to use MFP to keep an eye on what I'm eating.

I also aim to finish the C25K. I've tried it a few times and really like it but haven't finished for various reasons.

Drink more water.

Escolar · 31/12/2018 07:47

I’m in. I haven’t weighed myself for ages, but I need to lose 2-3 stone.
My plan will be:
No crisps, chocolate, cakes or biscuits.
Healthy snacks only.
Cut down portion size.
