Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

It was in the morning but late as DS sleep is all over the place and he didn't sleep last night. But I had put the bins out and done a couple of other things first.

Anyway I'm more annoyed at myself for weighing. I'm going to wait until Tuesday which will be the true test.

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 18:40

And you'll have had coffee and alerts by then! A cup of water weighs a pound, you know! (Or two cups...but still...a POUND!)

PinkHeart5914 · 04/01/2019 18:59

Susan It is always disheartening but are you sure the scares are accurate? Always weigh yourself in the same place and after first wee of the day & before you eat/drink anything if possible. If you’ve been eating good stuff the weight will leave eventually sometimes you find you don’t lose for the first 2 weeks then 4lbs or whatever are suddenly gone at the next weigh in. So don’t give up, keep going......

I have done 20km on the exercise bike this morning and a small run as well.
Food wise has been ok too;
B- Bowl of Cheerios, coffee (no sugar)
L- asparagus soup, bread roll. Banana
D- is going to be chicken marinated in Cajun spice, roasted cubed sweet potato, peppers & red onion. Corn cobs, light coleslaw
I am going to have 2 glasses of pink fizz with my dh tonight though, Fizz is the lower calories alcohol so I doubt it will do much harm

Hope you’ve all had a good day food wise 😃

For low carbers, I can totally reccommend using a Portobello mushroom as a burger bun. I just tried it for the first time and OMG!

Mum2lots · 04/01/2019 20:39

Have to agree fridge

mrbob · 04/01/2019 20:49

fridge I shall be doing that for sure! Sounds fab. With some avo in to make sure there is enough fat! I love some bits of this diet. Ooh and maybe some tofu bacon

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 20:54

Mr Men do you make the bacon yourself, or can you buy it? It's one thing I haven't tried yet.

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 20:55

MRBOB! Autocunt strikes again ffs!

mrbob · 04/01/2019 21:08

Both. I can’t find a really good shop bought one over here but sometimes I get it anyway because I NEED the bacon. Otherwise press tofu, thinly slice and marinate in a mix of soy sauce, liquid smoke, nutritional yeast and garlic powder (and I think maple syrup but obviously I am leaving that out) and then fry till crispy

This wasn’t the exact recipe I used but they are all pretty similar

Successful day on plan, although I'm pretty hungry now but at the caravan with no snacks to hand!

Breakfast: Chilled latte (5SP - still not over this!) mushrooms, chopped tomatoes & eggs (0SP)
Dinner: Quorn chilli & salad with light mayonnaise (2SP)
Tea: Quorn chicken korma (made with tomatoes & fat free yoghurt) with rice & naan (14SP)
Snacks: Malt loaf (4SP) & rice cake with hummus (2SP)

Over on my 24 points but still within blue dot range Smile

Hi 👋 can I jump in? Currently 2 stone overweight and not dieting yet... just making better choices until I'm back in the swing of it.

I just put back some pretzels and Vanilla Coke and picked up an apple and some water Blush

Had a lot of success on the 5:2 a few years ago but now working full time with 2 small children I'm struggling to find the motivation.

TulipsInbloom1 · 04/01/2019 22:14

ItsClem welcome. Another FT worker with two small dc. I'm finally ready to stop calling it "baby weight".

I'm itching to get on the scales but need to just stick to once a week. I can fluctuate 3lbs in a day.

I'm off to bed and hoping that I can keep up this progress over the weekend, with a house full of DorittFam. I've been doing so well, I don't want to sod it up because I'm out of routine.

meow1989 · 04/01/2019 22:34

Didn't do so well todsy; 527 calories over BlushSad. Had a naughty late lunch at 5 guys but it wasn't actually that that pushed me over it was bloody biscuits this evening!

I have no will power, considering getting a few slim fasts to replace lunch with, anyone had any success?

AFridgeTooFar · 05/01/2019 06:51

Yesssss!!!!!!!

I passed Day Four.
I passed Day Four.

I PASSED DAY FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Week, next. Whatever happens with weigh in, I'll be having a NFR (Nom Food Related) mini celebration of my own...for getting through the first week having totally stuck to this!

Even when I've stuck to a diet for a few weeks, it's been like a repeat of days 1-3, followed by a binge day, over and over.

I've woken up this morning, not only buzzed that I got to day five, but with that awesome feeling in my muscles, from yesterday's work out. I'd actually forgotten that there were muscles there under all this flab! This feeling may become an addiction. The muscle burn or a packet of Frazzles right now??? I'd take the muscle burn over a THOUSAND packets of Frazzles!

meow as Shakira would say, pick yourself up, and dust yourself off, and back in the saddle! 500 calories over is not the end of the world! Think about it from a weekly POV: it's not even 80cals a day! You could burn that off by walking a mile a day, shopping for 45 mins...loads of ways! You got this!!!!

LittleDoritt · 05/01/2019 06:52

Rubbish nights sleep. The detox headache has well and truly hit. Sad

AFridgeTooFar · 05/01/2019 07:10

Oh no! 😐

Keep pushing through, angel...we're all behind you.

LittleDoritt · 05/01/2019 07:26

Thank you lovely. I think my body is in shock that I've actually made it to day five Grin

HermioneWeasley · 05/01/2019 07:47

Good morning everyone

AFridgeTooFar · 05/01/2019 07:50

Morning Hermione!

wizzler · 05/01/2019 07:53

Morning !
Congratulations Fridge

wizzler · 05/01/2019 07:57

Meow I struggle with the evening munchies too. By 8pm I am desperate for a snack and fruit just won't cut it.

What does everyone else snack on ?

AFridgeTooFar · 05/01/2019 07:58

DH is looking at me like I've gone out...

Instead of lazing in bed watching the omnibuses, I'm actually dressed!

TheHoundsofLove · 05/01/2019 08:05

Morning all!
Keep going Doritt - I felt ill with tiredness yesterday after a hideous night's sleep on Thursday. But, I slept really, really well last night! Smile
I did, however, cave and have 2 chocolates yesterday - we have visitors and they wanted to go to the Lindt shop...attempts at resistance were utterly futile!
