Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

Welcome Jogobella!

I'm starving as well this morning Fiontar. Having a little fruit salad to see me through until lunch.

certainlymerry · 04/01/2019 11:50

@Fridge - thank you for the words of encouragement, it means a lot. I know from experience that I tend to give up in the first three weeks. If I don't I stick at it. The initial few weeks are the hardest, then it becomes a habit.

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 12:00

Then we'll just carry you even more through the first three weeks! Innit? 🤣

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 12:01

And I just wrote "innit on MN for you...so you must be worth it! ❤😀

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 12:05

I think I may have accidentally just rejected someone from the Facebook group! I don't know how- the request just disappeared!

If it was anyone here, could you please request again? I'm so sorry.

tryinganewname · 04/01/2019 12:22

I can't update due to safari either and I'm refusing to turn my work laptop on Grin (currently on maternity leave). Could you update me as 94.4 for the 1st please Smile

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 12:23

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 12:53

StealthNinjaMum · 04/01/2019 13:20

certainlymerry when I was in my last diet thread years ago that happened to me. I was always the person on the thread who lost the least weight but for some reason I didn't give up on that attempt and got down to less than 9 stone (starting weight 13 st 9). Sometimes you'll lose nothing and other times you'll lose 3lbs for no obvious reason. And your waist will get smaller at a time when you haven't actually lost weight. It's all very random and frustrating but in a month you'll have probably dropped a clothes size or be wearing looser clothes and you will feel better.

StealthNinjaMum · 04/01/2019 13:36

Thank you for the spreadsheet Fridge. I have put my starting weight on.

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 13:41

I second Ninjas reply. I've been on a MN "Get Thin" thread every year since 2015. This is the first time I've made it to day 4. I shit you not.

In fact, I think a lot of us on this thread have been there. The "ding ding ding" in my head which symbolized a whole new attitude, a difference this time, I recognize in a few other posters.

I've suggested a "rule" on the fbk group that drifters can always come back, no matter how long it's been. This has been my issue in the past. I've either fucked up for a few weeks binging with/without puking, or I've switched to get another Pro Ana, or faddy diet, failed, eaten any weight loss back, and been ashamed to come back.

I've lost no weight in the first week before. Because I've weighed just before the painters come, or I've been working out, or...whatever. and I've thought "fuck it" and eaten a whole bag of Bombay Mix.

TL:DR. I get it. I've been there.

💙

StealthNinjaMum · 04/01/2019 13:57

Well done AFridgeTooFar. 4 days is an achievement at this stage. I can remember in my successful diet on about day 4 I stupidly watched the Great British Bakeoff and then having dreams about bloody cakes! It was really hard, I honestly don't know why I had that lightbulb moment I just did and I still remember the absolute delight of buying a size 14 skirt in white stuff when a month before I had bought the identical size 16 skirt.

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 14:01

You want a dream-off?

Last night.

I took a packet of bacon frazzles on the JK show!

The headline was "I know you're vegan, but you're bad for me!"

I shit you not!!!

Sums up the toxic relationship I had with food I guess! 🤣🤣

StealthNinjaMum · 04/01/2019 14:16

I wonder if bacon frazzles are vegan - I know they're vegetarian. Don't look it up! I don't want to be responsible for you giving up the diet by laying in a bathtub full of frazzles!

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 14:17

Oh, they're vegan. They're also the bane of my life! 🤣

Fiontar649 · 04/01/2019 14:43

Stop talking about Frazzles! (Dribbles unattractively)

I saw a Veganuary post on SM where they made a vegan blt using Frazzles instead of the bacon.

I am frazzled, I would LOVE a pack

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 14:54

I've discovered that mooch makes an awesome "crunch", which seems to be satisfying my craving for crisps (sort of)

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 15:12

Plank workout: completed.

AFridgeTooFar: Barely Alive.

SusanWalker · 04/01/2019 16:23

Did a sneaky weigh in and wish I hadn't as it seemed to say I had our in three pounds since Tuesday. I know it can't be right and I shouldn't have done it but there's a voice in my head nagging at me that it's hopeless and I should just give up.

I haven't but it doesn't help that DS is still not sleeping at all and generally not feeling very well with his depression. And I've had a cold and am feeling very lethargic today and struggling to get motivated to do anything.

Moan over. Need to keep looking forward I guess.

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 16:46

Susan

-period?
-poo?
-pumping (iron)?

Three ps. (I coined that...genius, ain't I? 🤣) Just three of a fair few reasons you haven't seen a loss yet.

Think about what's been going into your body. Is it good stuff? If so, you're healthier than you were this time last week! The weight is only part of it!

You're doing great! ❤

AFridgeTooFar · 04/01/2019 16:52

And if you need a sounding board, feel free to PM...either on here or Facebook. I'm around.

CarrotPuff · 04/01/2019 17:39

When did you weigh yourself? Was it in the morning or afternoon? I'm easily at least 3 lbs heavier after just going downstairs on the morning 🤔

StealthNinjaMum · 04/01/2019 18:24

Oh susan I'm sorry to hear that, keep on, honestly it will be worth it.

Are you drinking enough water? People always recommend that in these situations (I'm not sure why.)
