Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

I’m bored already. The novelty of being virtuous has totally worn off.

tryinganewname · 02/01/2019 13:38

Faced the scales this morning.. 2.6kg put on in December. Not as bad as I thought actually but definitely more than it needed to be.

Aim is to have that off by the end of January.

TulipsInbloom1 · 02/01/2019 13:39

Feeling all smug about lunch today (baked sweet pot with cottage cheese onion and cucumber; plus a mugshot). Got an apple for the 3pm desk lul.

Dinner tonight will be prawn risotto (stock only; no cream or wine) with lots of veg. Smidge of parmesan over the top.

Drank lots od water already today.

Made myself a Spreadsheet to track weekly weigh in plus BMI calcs. Added my short term goal dates in too, and will do a pretty graph once Im a few weeks in.

I'd love to say I'm exercising right now...but I'm curled up with my crochet, watching Farrah Fawcett kick the shite out of some random!

SusanWalker · 02/01/2019 14:17

Had a ham salad sandwich so far today but got up late as DS didn't sleep again last night. I managed to get him to go to his camhs appointment though and that was touch and go so very pleased with that.

We are now in the cafe next door and I am ignoring his leftover cheesy chips.

DwangelaForever · 02/01/2019 14:20

I'm at my highest ever of 13stone4 Sad but I'm making myself feel better because I had a baby in September lol but I'm ignoring the fact that I was a stone lighter straight after I had him, I've done nothing but eat crap since then! Joining back to slimming world tomorrow, went for around 4 weeks last January and lost 5lbs but I fell pregnant and stopped going. Here's hoping for some motivation this year.

So annoyed cause I'm going for a spa day with my hubby on Sunday and I know I'll still look pregnant Sad

DwangelaForever · 02/01/2019 14:21

I should say I'm 4ft11 so have about 3/4 stone to loose!

PinkHeart5914 · 02/01/2019 14:40

Hi all, wondered if I could join this thread?

I don’t have much to lose only about a stone to be where I feel good about myself. December had far too much food and wine with a lack of exercise and I feel a bit sluggish to be honest.

I plan to just watch portion size, keep alcohol to weekends only and get back to my exercise bike & running as I do really enjoy it but didn’t do it as much as I like to in December.

This morning I managed 20km on the exercise bike and food wise I had:
porridge for breakfast
Lunch was scrambled egg on toast and a sugar free jelly with the dc.
Dinner I am doing sausage pasta bake but will have a small portion with no cheese on mine and have salad with it

BeetlebumShesAGun · 02/01/2019 15:15

Weighed in today. 10st 6.5lbs, target weight of 8st. I took before photos but for my eyes only!

First day back at work, I’ve had my Exante shake for breakfast and a bar for lunch. Luckily itabs been a very busy day so not really had a lunch break or chance to feel hungry.

I didn’t go for my first C25K run this morning though. Going to make sure I get up earlier tomorrow and do it!

meow1989 · 02/01/2019 15:27

I'm buying some scales today, will post when I know what the damage is. My main issues are my stomach (bulges after DS think needs some tkninh) and impress me. Did take before pics to motivate me too!

Managed to stay under allocated calories yesterday (using mfp) and likely to be around amount today (although I am sitting in cafe Nero awaiting a tarte).

tryinganewname · 02/01/2019 16:22

Food today:

Breakfast - Baked Oats with pear & cinnamon
Dinner - 60g sourdough, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms and 2 poached eggs
Tea - Quorn chicken with peppers and onions with 2 wholemeal wraps

Following WW and that brings me to daily allowance of 24pp.

I'm planning to have all 'blue dot' days this month apart from 2 meals out for birthdays which are unavoidable but I'll try to be good.

I like the sound of your quorn chicken wraps, might try that another day. I'm doing pork loin steak with mash and veg for dinner.

LittleDoritt · 02/01/2019 17:16

Beef and cabbage stew for me tonight after ham salad for lunch. Day 2 going well! Poor DH is having the worst sugar withdrawal ever. I feel quite sorry for him! It'll probably hit me tomorrow.
Having unsweetened almond milk in my coffee instead of cows milk and not resenting it half as much as I expected to. Yet.

FATEdestiny · 02/01/2019 17:19

Love that Michael Mosley article linked to earlier. Especially like that rapid weight loss is a good thing, given I lost a stone a month for 5 months, and 8 stone in 9 months.

Is it really ok to have days like this? [1000cal] I could eat food like I did yesterday forever, so it's not like it would be impossible to keep up for the rest of my life!

Absolutely OK! I spent 6 months on 800 calorie days and was absolutely fine on it. Never hungry, I had vast amounts of fat stores after all. I only started increasing my calorie intake because My level of exercise increased significantly. Even now, healthy BMI and running 10km every day, I keep a calorie deficit and have around 1200-1500 cals

DrMadelineMaxwell · 02/01/2019 17:30

I'm half heartedly starting tomorrow, but really back in track on Monday.

A few months ago I was 13.6.
Just before Christmas I was 12.13.

I'm back up to (And officially starting 2019 at) 13.0 and 3/4.

Not a bad gain over Christmas. I'll take that. Today is a mixture.... My sister took me for afternoon tea for my Christmas gift, so I'm stuffed with sandwiches and scone and carrot cake, but I left some of it and only ate what I fancied. It will have been my lunch and my dinner today.

And in an hour I'm off to my first exercise class of the year to balance it out. I should go to my ww meeting tomorrow but will most likely skip it and give myself the first week back at work and back to healthier habits to shed the Christmas gain before next week's meeting. I can weigh and track at home and start afresh there next week.

NewFitMe · 02/01/2019 17:45

I got my new Fitbit versa today!! Yayyy. But I’m so poorly I don’t want to set it up yet because I know I won’t be getting many steps 😄 Hopefully tomorrow I can go for a walk. Im gonna do 100km in January inspired by FATEdestinys

NewFitMe · 02/01/2019 17:46

Oops sent too early. Was meant to say inspired my fatedestinys goal thingy she posted earlier. In February I want to do 160km which is 100miles she did

WhenCanISleepAgain · 02/01/2019 18:26

I’ve done OK food wise yeaterday and today plus I also ran for 30 mins today but I’ve been feeling a bit flat and unmotivated. I’m quite tired (baby up through the night) and a little under the weather. Checking in here for inspiration. Will look up that Michael Mosley article now.

superE · 02/01/2019 18:44

Can anyone recommend a good set of scales? Mine change dependant on moving them just a cm! Confused

NewFitMe · 02/01/2019 19:11

Does anyone else here have a Fitbit? Would you want to do a workweek challenge?

meow1989 · 02/01/2019 19:47

Right, 147lbs aiming for 121 ideally (10st 7 now aiming for 8st 9 for those who don't use lbs).

OhTheRoses · 02/01/2019 19:51

I'd like a fitbit. My phone tells me I did 3500 steps today but it doest record the trots to the copier, loo, kitchen, finance etc. Must make time for a 20 min walk at midday though.

Have had a small banana, two tbs natural yoghurt, 2 dsps muesli, 2 ryvita, cottage cheese, cup a soup and 3 satsumas. Small portion chilli con and salad soon. Have had a glass of sherry though and a handful of almonds.

Good luck everyone x

Pennina · 02/01/2019 19:59

I too am inspired by FATEdestiny's goals. I'm starting nw as we're away visiting friends til Sunday, but starting Monday with daily walking - just a brisk 20 mins and also running the NHS strength and flex programme. I know what I shouldn't eat so will avoid all that and enjoy my family roast at the weekend.

I'm very keen on Quinoa and I've found some very good recipes which will work well for lunches.

FATEdestiny · 02/01/2019 20:32

While I love my daily exercise (and it's RED January, so a good time to encourage daily exercise), remember that weight loss is mostly down to what your diet rather than your exercise.
