Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

Well, yes - I agree with that. But, I definitely think that exercise has benefits on the metabolism that go way beyond simple calories burnt.

wasthis · 02/01/2019 09:38

I've fasted for 16 hours and 42 mins and done 16 mins of HIIT. So virtuous this morning 😂

wasthis · 02/01/2019 09:39

I agree that exercise has a positive impact on metabolism, muscle tone and shape and on mental health too. I also agree with the saying that 'you can't outrun a bad diet'

SpikyHedgehogg · 02/01/2019 09:43

Hounds that's the thing with research isn't it? Our personal experience may differ, but research evidence should be more convincing than individual anecdotes.

Personally, I absolutely love weightlifting and eating in order to be stronger really motivates me to eat well. I do cardio because I know it's good for heart and lungs. I dance because of the endorphins. But I know that I am unlikely to lose weight through exercise alone.

I think Michael Mosley would agree with you too, because he's a big proponent of HIIT.

Morning all! I am feeling quite pious after a very healthy day yesterday, back at work today though and I’m working from home today so I’ll be beating off the call of the fridge all day I think.
Ive set up a new MFP profile and would love some buddies, my user name is The SelfishJeans.

AFridgeTooFar · 02/01/2019 09:50

Selfish I still haven't worked out how to add people! Mine is DeathlyHallows2

AFridgeTooFar · 02/01/2019 09:52

Prep some simple snacks before you start work, shove them in the fridge and eat ONLY THEM. Have you got your meals planned for today?

mfpsamzy133 · 02/01/2019 09:52

My MFP is samzy_133

mfpsamzy133 · 02/01/2019 09:53

AFridgeTooFar · 02/01/2019 09:55

Is this on the app?

mfpsamzy133 · 02/01/2019 09:56

Yep on the app

certainlymerry · 02/01/2019 10:17

How do you add people on MFP?

NewFitMe · 02/01/2019 10:33

Fridge I’d say if you don’t feel hungry then don’t eat. Your body knows how much food it wants. There’ll probably be days you want to eat more

NewFitMe · 02/01/2019 10:36

I feel absolutely shite. I’ve got super sore throat and my head feels like it’s gonna explode. I don’t even remember the last time I was ill 🤧

AFridgeTooFar · 02/01/2019 10:45

NewFit oh no! 😐

certainlymerry · 02/01/2019 10:54

Sorry , just seen the instructions above , must have cross posted.

Winnie2019 · 02/01/2019 11:54

I'll join please. Weighed in today at 10 stone, 13 pounds which is 1 stone overweight and about 2.5 stones more than I want to me.

I'm doing the C9 which I know is not everyone's cup of tea but I wanted to kick start a decent loss.

My problem is stress (work related). I struggle to keep it under control and I struggle to have a healthy relationship with anything including food when I'm under pressure!

AFridgeTooFar · 02/01/2019 12:05

We're all doing different diets Winnie. Welcome aboard!

Winnie2019 · 02/01/2019 12:12

Thank you 😊

Cocolepew · 02/01/2019 12:26

I woke up at 7 with my stomach rumbling Grin
I weighted myself with the scales in a different place and was 2lb heavier so they are going back to their original place.
I'm trying to cut out eating between meals and after my dinner, I eat at 5 then tend to graze all night.

wizzler · 02/01/2019 12:36

Feeling fairly virtuous this morning. I am determined to only get weighed once a week, so i avoided the scales. Need to do this as I get so de motivated if I put weight on, even if it's just because of water fluctuations. Have had a sensible breakfast and , substituted a milky coffee for a mug of yorkshire tea. Am taking the kids to play tennis this afternoon.
Finding all your postings very uplifting and encouraging

AFridgeTooFar · 02/01/2019 13:15

I've had to get DH to hide the scales here. He'll get them out every Monday night for me to use on a Tuesday. 🤣

hussherbye · 02/01/2019 13:21

Finally weighed in. 15st 0.5 BlushShock
Heaviest I've ever been. Starting now, just hope I can stick to it this time

ButtMuncher · 02/01/2019 13:31

How are we all doing? I'm weighing in tonight at SW. Need to get the new fangled pack thingymajig. Hopefully I'll be allowed to, I only stopped going in October Grin

Walked my DS up to the retail park (2 mike round trip) and felt so out of breath. Least I didn't ache which is a first. Also doing dry January this year but after over indulging on NYE wasn't too hard to avoid it yesterday Grin
