Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

Gods, I ate so much food last night. Only just surfaced, and really can't be bothered to go shopping for all my lovely healthy new year food. Sipping a peppermint tea and cursing my fat arse.

Fiontar649 · 01/01/2019 12:41

My plan is 16:8 during the week, and at weekend if we have nothing on. I am mostly plant based (have slipped into habit of having dairy) and follow McDougall, so my first step is to get back on track - I have got lazy and relying on a lot of junk and pre-packed food.

Not back in work until Monday so have rest of this week to plan healthy, filling, tasty grub

Cocolepew · 01/01/2019 13:10

Im in.
I lost about 8lb over the summer and didn't put any on, except now have put 2lb on over Christmas.
Im not 100% sure my scales are right but will use them in the same place for weighting.
Im 5'5" and 11st 4 lb.
I really want to get into the 10st bracket.
Im going to aim for 10 and a half.
DD1 will graduate in june so Im using that as goal.
Good luck 🎲 eveyone!

HJWT · 01/01/2019 13:30

Iv got my hunters chicken in the slow cooker for dinner smells soo nice 🥰

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 13:33

HJWT do you have a recipe?

HJWT · 01/01/2019 13:43

@AFridgeTooFar I use the Pinch of Nom recipe/ingredients but i wrote it down on my notes because the website it way to long for me!!

pinchofnom.com/recipes/syn-free-hunters-chicken-slimming-world-11/

Hope it works 🤭

Cocolepew · 01/01/2019 13:45

Can someone link to the weigh in thread please?

magoria · 01/01/2019 15:11

OK so I am 16st 7lb. So my first goal is 16st and then each stone to 10st.

Eeps that is a lot writing it down.

OhTheRoses · 01/01/2019 15:13

Yes. Something has to be done. Will weigh in a minute.

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 17:54

So the sausage stew I mentioned earlier, that I was worried wouldn't be big enough for a Greedy Person's portion?

I couldn't finish it! There was a FUCKLOAD of the stuff! DH had to split it into two portions for me!

I've just had to have a handful of nuts to get myself over 1000 calories! Lunch seemed massive too!

certainlymerry · 01/01/2019 18:04

@Fridge, I did exactly that, but I just read your message! It worked well. I went for a brisk walk for an hour and a half. I think I've done quite well considering I'm absolutely knackered and there's no food to speak of in the house!
This thread is incredibly encouraging. I am 5 foot 3 and 13 stone 3 this morning. I cannot believe it. i don't snack, don't eat rubbish and exercise. It just doesn't seem fair. I just put on weight easily and carbs and I are not friends.

OhTheRoses · 01/01/2019 18:20

Ah well. 5'7" and 13st 4lb. Not good. Hoping dry January will help. NY meal tonight which we always have but have eaten little today. Back to work tomorrow and have stocked up on natural yoghurt and bananas for breakfast and cottage cheese, crispbread, cup a soup and fruit for lunch. Dinners will be same as the family but on a teaplate not a dinner plate. Has worked before.

OhTheRoses · 01/01/2019 18:21

Problem with work though is lack of time for a brisk walk.

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 18:25

Certainly RESULT!!!!

SusanWalker · 01/01/2019 18:38

I've had a brilliant day food wise. Can't see myself eating anything else today I am stuffed from the chicken and vegetable curry i just had for dinner.

Have not done any exercise but I am still battling a nasty cold, although I feel marginally better than I did yesterday. I am about to go and wrangle DS mattress off his bed so I can send the slats - that's about as energetic as it gets today!

Going to meal plan for tomorrow then. I know I do better if I know in advance what I am going to eat.

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 18:54

@Susan@ I hear you.

I've deviated once from my meal plan today. I couldn't finish my "small" portion of stew, so I've had a Big Milk (as DH calls it...basically hazelnut milk, microwaved in one of those huge mugs?) instead.

One of the cheese alternatives I buy is pretty high calorie, so I may have to check the nutrients in that, and see if I can fit it in.

A quick question about vitamins, please? MFP reckons I've Ow's on Got A by 800%????? Is this as dangerous as it sounds?

SusanWalker · 01/01/2019 18:56

I don't mind deviating from the meal plan depending on what happens, but it's helpful to know more or less what I'm going to eat i find. But it doesn't do to be too inflexible.

TulipsInbloom1 · 01/01/2019 19:03

Food today - 2x cups hot water and lemon. One cup of tea with milk. Few glasses of water. One banana. Lunch (avo, halloumi, peppers and a thin bacon rasher fat off, all grilled). Dinner due in 30 mins (sweet potato roasted with broccoli, onion and corgette with paprika and garlic, pork loin).

wizzler · 01/01/2019 19:12

Think today has been a good day food wise. I am trying to be mindful and sensible and only eat when I am hungry etc, and not eat huge portions. Have done WW before and while it worked, it grieved me to pay money for what seems to be common sense.

Had a banana for breakfast as we ate late last night and I wasn't hungry. Then we had a load of DH family round for lunch. DH had done the cooking and I didn't really eat that much as I was running around fetching drinks etc. They all really like fruit cake, and Xmas pud, which is the food of the devil as far as i am concerned so I had fruit salad.
I did have a massive choc craving at 4 pm, but overcame it.

So I have now negotiated day 1 . I really need this week to be good and get me off to a positive start.

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 19:12

I've just been kicked out of a Facebook diet group...

Someone posted a question about vegetarians. (PP) why are cheesy chips so high in calories? What's a good vegetarian diet?"

I have no filter. And I'm hyper because I've just been drumming. So I answered...

"Try baking the vegetarian instead of frying."

I regret nothing.

(The poster was basically poopooing all of the other- sensible!- suggestions.)

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 19:13

wizzler your day one sounds ace!

wizzler · 01/01/2019 19:15

Fridge... sounds as if that facebook group took themselves a little too seriously. You should be proud to be expelled.

AwdBovril · 01/01/2019 19:15

Fridge - IME on MFP it's really easy to rack up the vitamin A. But you'd need to be eating absolutely massive anounts to get into the toxic range. ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminA-HealthProfessional/

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 19:18

Awd really? I was worried! It's hard to work out how NOT to go over iyswim?

AFridgeTooFar · 01/01/2019 19:20

So let me just make sure I got that right...But A from veggies is NOT toxic...just the stuff found in some meats, and pill vitamins?
