I had the exact same thought as the title this morning. Just come back from an all inclusive holiday and I’m weighing in at 76kg. I’m aiming for 64kg by March next year (big family holiday abroad).

I’d like to be about 69/70kg by end of November as I’m going to be a godmother to my friend’s baby. Planning on allowing a little Christmas weight and then that gives me 3 months to hopefully lose 5-6kg.

HerRoyalFattyness · 23/09/2018 19:44

Thanks everyone.
Im ok. I'm hoping this will help give me something to focus on and stop me dwelling on things. Flowers

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 23/09/2018 19:59

Royal Flowers Yoga is a great plan, good for the mind as well as the body. I used to love doing Ashtanga Yoga but I can’t get to my old glass anymore. I can do it just the same but it’s harder to commit to for some reason. I might try and do just a few short session this week and try to get back into it.

I’ve also got my Fitbit on and will be going for 10,000 steps. I’ll have to actively get out for walks to achieve this, I barely do 2000 most days at home. I’ve got a really busy week this week though, so might be easier. Also have 3 meals out though so need to factor that in....

dreamdream · 23/09/2018 20:00

I've just had my last chocolate blow out. I'm stuffed. Tomorrow here I come.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 23/09/2018 20:16

I’m not giving up anything, I have some fancy pants chocolate that is already divided into small portions. So I’m having one a day if at all. Knowing I have that to look forward to really helps me resist other stuff during the day (usually. Today it didn’t, I make really bad choices when stressed about other stuff)

I’m not going to worry about the fine details of what I’m eating, I’m autistic and get too panicky about things being recorded perfectly etc so things like MFP don’t work for me. I’m just going to keep trying to make good decisions and generally eat less crap.

DumbleDork · 23/09/2018 20:18

Thanks for the suggestion to join your thread dream

My work trousers ripped the other day, so I did what I always do and popped off to HR to order a new pair. Started with my “usual” size 16. 16,18 & 20 were too tight. Needed a size 22!! Horrified and disgusted with myself. Don’t know how it’s got so bad without me realising it. I actually cried in the changing rooms at work.

So when I got home I weighed myself. 14 stone! At 5’3!!!!

So now I need to go on a massive diet / health regime.

I’m thinking a goal weight of 8 or 9 stone (so 5 or 6 weight loss).

Is this even do able?!

No wonder my kids hate swimming with me and people kept looking at me in the pool last weekend

Soov567 · 23/09/2018 20:19

Can I join please? Lost 52 pounds since January but the last 10 are soooo difficult!
I’ve been slimfasting during the week but the weekends are my downfall, just can’t resist eating crap as a reward for trying hard all week which will undoes all the work I’ve done 🙁

Zillcat · 23/09/2018 20:20

Can I join? I need some major motivation.

Currently on month 8/12 of mat leave and enjoying picnicking throughout the day and sharing food with the DC.
Desperately need to shed, I've always been size 12/14 and now I can only fit into an 18. I feel frumpy and dumpy and I've had enough.

Plan to stop any sweet/chocs/crisps. Try and get walking with the pram everyday we have nothing on and attempt to do my old davina exercise DVD during nap time!

Cagliostro · 23/09/2018 20:23

One rule I do have though is only having stuff like Pepsi if I’m having a meal out. This rule is what Kickstarted the huge loss as I was having some most days and the sugar crashes were making me crave other food. I did lapse with following it though with the baby related tiredness, she’s not a great sleeper. But I’ve started being stricter with myself about it so hopefully that’ll help overall.

Walking is something I’m doing a little more of due to our new house, we are in walking distance of town so only get the bus down if I’m feeling unwell (I have fibromyalgia and other conditions). I tend to get the bus back up though as the hill is hard. But I’m generally in walking distance of a few shops and the park and stuff so much much more opportunity to walk. I just have to not reward myself for walking to the shop by buying junk food 🤦‍♀️🙄😳

Cagliostro · 23/09/2018 20:27

Oh I love Davina zill I rebought her pregnancy/postnatal workout when I conceived DD2 as I loved it so much! I don’t think I can really get away with it now though. DD2 will be 1 next month :o

I am in the middle ground of finding that stuff (and exercise designed for people with chronic illness) too easy but finding regular DVDs far too difficult.

One thing I do love though is Fitness Blender on YouTube. It is brilliant as there are heaps of different workouts and there are always alternatives to tricky ones so you don’t get bored or disheartened. I must get back to it in a little while (I’ve really struggled with moving house and the heat causing a lot of pain and dizziness, so I’ve gotten unfit again)

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 23/09/2018 20:27

DumbleDork it’s absolutely possible and you can do it. Small changes and consistency, and being kind to yourself will all move you forward.

Soov that’s some very impressive weight loss so far, well done! Have you been following any particular plan?

I’ve been having a massive roast and chocolate cheesecake, I’m now totally stuffed and feel like a house. Feeling motivated by having some buddies to get focused tomorrow now.

Calorie density (what Slimming World is based around) is really helpful to have in mind if serious tracking isn’t for you. Focus on eating tummy filling food so you don’t get hungry. This video is long but very informative on the concept

Spanglyprincess1 · 23/09/2018 20:28

I just started my post baby regime to get my figure back, planning to loose three stone! Ds in 12 weeks and I'm struggling to find time. I'm speed eating as D's cries if I leave him to cook :( so it's basically junk and loads of toast.
Started couch to five k this morning, I used to be fit !!!! I actually hurt!

Zillcat · 23/09/2018 20:33

@Cagliostro I will do a search for those videos... Anything extra will help. I only managed a few weeks of Davina when TTC and then found out I was pregnant so gave up any form of exercise.
I have never really been into any form of physical activity, I kept my weight down by basically not having time to eat during work days and being in an active job. No chance of it shedding when I go back to work as I have reduced my hours and gone on nights so I will still be home all day to eat Confused

whiteroseredrose · 23/09/2018 20:39

Can I join too? I gained 3 stone when I was doing teacher training and I've never really been able to lose it.

I've gone vegan recently so the staples I had at WW aren't available (0% Greek yogurt, tuna and hard boiled eggs).

Plan is overnight oats for breakfast, soup for lunch and then vegan curry, chilli etc. Just need to cut out the wine or gin and crisps!!

DumbleDork · 23/09/2018 20:54

whiterose I’m a new vegan too. For Ethical reasons but the health side can’t hurt and I’m hoping this will help with weight loss too as a side effect Smile

Soov567 · 23/09/2018 21:13

Thanks Rain! It’s taken a long time and I’ve just been sensible- walking, a couple of exercise classes a week and over the last month resorting to meal replacement shakes to try and get over this plateau (not helped by going crazy at the weekend, need to stop that next)
Thanks for sharing the video, it looks really interesting, will have a watch tonight

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 23/09/2018 21:16

In going back to slimming world on Wed. If nothing else it's good to have the weigh in. I'm going to sit down tomorrow and plan a few meals out. I also remembered I've a fit bit. I couldn't wait to get one and I never ear it!

Cagliostro · 23/09/2018 22:13

If you want a gentle start with the videos zill search “fitness blender low impact” (at least if you’re anything like me with dodgy joints)

I’m spending too many days indoors ATM. It’s been nice in a way, as we’ve moved from a shitty tiny horribly cluttered house that felt like a prison (didn’t even have any heating downstairs thanks to landlords not giving a shit) to a lovely spacious bigger home, pretty bog standard HA 3bed but it feels like a palace and I’m so happy, but it’s still not good that I’m spending so much time indoors. I really struggle to get the balance right as I get delayed onset muscle soreness if I do too much and end up relapsing. Ideally I’d like to maybe have a little walk round the nearby park or something on days we aren’t going out. But some days even that feels insurmountable.

poorpaws · 23/09/2018 22:18

Please may I join? I’ve been dieting for ever and getting nowhere fast. I’d love to lose a stone (at least) by Christmas.

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 23/09/2018 22:22

WhiteRose and DumbleDork I was vegan for a few years (I actually got fatter in that time rather than lose weight) More pesc now for various reasons but still don’t eat meat and still have mostly dairy alternatives. The calorie density video is geared towards plant based eating so you might find that helpeful. Filling up on lots of lovely plant foods is never a bad thing!

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 23/09/2018 22:23

Helpful*

fishfingersandketchup · 23/09/2018 22:24

Yes please. Put on around 2 stone since EasterSad I am a yoyo dieter and desperate to break the cycle. I lost the 2 stone with the NoS diet, its not really a diet at all but a way of eating with moderation. I lost it really slowly but it did come off. Then I went back to my old bad habits, as usual

I'm 43, 44 next month and I've had enough of this shit. Just want to eat healthily and get fitter. Just started C25K which is hard but I am determined. I think I'd better face the scales tomorrow, I've been in denial for a loooong time. Reckon its over 13 stoneBlushShock

Ofchris · 23/09/2018 22:30

Me too. I want to lose five and a half stone. I’d love to lose two stone by Xmas. I have chronic GORD and fatty liver disease and need to lose weight to make it better. I’ll weigh in tomorrow.

HerRoyalFattyness · 23/09/2018 22:33

Good luck everyone!
