Thank you Lucked - you are right, I am over the moon both came back clear - in fact I opened a bottle of wine(or two) to celebrate!!!!

I am like you, I keep losing and gaining the same pounds - so annoying, especially as I cannot blame anyone else Grin.

The weather seems to have turned cold very early this year - hopefully just a short snap.

Five it is really important to be kind to yourself during such a stressful time so forget about the weight and glad to hear you got the all clear.

I am down 1lb this week at 13st2 BMI 26.6 and 11lbs down. Rather depressingly this was my weight when I first logged on to MFP in 2014. 4 years of losing and gaining the same weight and I am back we’re I started!

Sooo cold here this morning all frosty and car needed scrapping. Feels like winter now.

Oh dear! Have been missing and eating and drinking.

I started at 10 9.2 and was doing really well, down to 10 5. Then I had to have two separate biopsies and the wheels fell off. Am now 10 7.8 so down 1.4 pounds. Hardly the fantastic weight loss I was hoping for, but am thankful it is 1.4 off and not on.

Both biopsies were clear so that is very very good news. Grin Only a couple of days and we will be in November - how are you coping with the time change in UK? I suppose it is getting dark really early now.

Well I’ve fallen totally off the wagon this week with work stress, loads of chocolate, wine, butter... not feeling good for it at all! We’ve decided to TTC from January so really want to get healthier and slimmer beforehand.

I'll join you 😊 I'm 1 stone down now so now at 11st 10lb. Have roughly 2 stone to go to sit comfortably around 10 stone which is my goal.

To lose the stone I've already lost I've been jogging twice a week and stopped snacking on chocs infront of the tv at night.

Need to add some yoga and healthier meals into my routine

@WillChellam I do get your point about exercise (it's not as powerful as you think). But I went for a run for an hour last night and burned off about 700 calories so that's a lot more than a standard bag of crisps.

WillChellam · 26/10/2018 07:02

I've done two stone in 9 months, one to go.

Exercise is nonsense for weight loss, extremely unrewarding it takes about an hour to work off the calories from a bag of crisps that only takes 1 second of strength to decide not to eat.

Use a calorie app that also tracks weight and weigh yourself once a week on the same day, at the same time, morning and evening shifts in water and hydration can make a big difference and can be quite demotivating.

Aim for weight loss over a year or longer , that way you will have established actual behavioural change and not rebound once you hit your target.

I used nutricheck on my android phone which costs a small fee but calculates your required calorie deficit for weight loss in a specified time.

The thing that shocked me was portion sizes, especially things like rice and cereal, the other thing I noticed was enjoying food more once a pattern was established.

I've not posted much but I have been trying!

As I said before, weight only comes
Off slowly for me so I'm happy to have lost an average of 1lb per week since this thread started - woohoo!

Lucked Grin thank you. I'm up 5kg on yesterday. Though mostly because I've a fat cat parked squarely on me and helping me resist going to the fridge!

I'm doing well this week, currently at my mums and not dived into her chocolate and biscuit stash

Hi 👋

I'm also on a mission to lose 3 stone. Starting weight was 12st 10lb. I'm currently 12st 2lb- next weigh in is Monday morning.

I'm doing it slowly as I have a binge eating disorder so won't be losing weight fast as restricting foods always leads to a binge.

Am also jogging twice a week (aiming to up it to 3x a week once kids are back to school and nursery)

Good luck everyone 😊

You'll get there. When I started I was four stone away from healthy BMI and seemed almost impossible. Sitting here now 24lb less than that (so very nearly 6st down), size 10-12, able to run 5k and do sit-ups when I could barely go up stairs last Christmas. I'm within a kg of target and can I shift it? Can I heck! Grin Hmm

WhoWants2Know · 19/10/2018 08:49

I've finally shifted two pounds, although that happened when I was being really lazy about tracking calories! But I worked out that I'm 18 pounds away from the beginning of a healthy BMI, so a ways to go yet.

I have been a bit quiet on the thread but have been doing well with my diet. Weigh in day today.

3lbs down 13st4 lbs BMI 26.9. 9lbs total loss in three weeks.

Carrying on and hoping for 2lbs this week. 10 weeks till Christmas! I keep focusing on Christmas every time I feel tempted to eat crap.

WhoWants are you tracking your calories properly? And eating enough deficit on your calorie burn?

Report
WhoWants2Know · 12/10/2018 11:59

My weight just isn't shifting, despite all the extra walking

Report
WellTidy · 11/10/2018 09:50

Sounds like you’re well on your way Rain. Keep it up! I am having a lovely Danish pastry today in the knowledge that I will be walking for an hour and a half. I love pastries so I am motivated to do the walking. It’s a lovely morning too here so that helps.

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 11/10/2018 08:43

Fab! Sounds like a very sensible approach. I’m trying similar (though struggling to get my walking up as much as I’d like) hopefully I’ll have similar results.

Report
WellTidy · 10/10/2018 15:12

Thank you! I have been walking a lot (some days up to an hour and a half, other days a lot less, but I think I am walking at least 2 hours a week more than I did before), and also eating less, but not leaving any food groups out.

I am putting all my food and exercise into my fitness pal every day, and it has made me way more conscious of how much I would normally have eaten. I was snacking a lot and filling up on really unhealthy things like crisps and chocolate.

My TDEE is low due to my age and height, it is 1399 per day. I am trying to come in at 1000 net calories, and achieving that most days.

I am also drinking more water. It is working for me that way, fingers crossed that it will continue to!

That’s fab WellTidy well done! Have you been doing anything in particular?

Report
WellTidy · 10/10/2018 14:44

I joined the thread a couple of weeks ago, as I was on a mission to lose nearly two stone. I've lost half a stone in just over three weeks, so I am a quarter of the way there. I am walking loads more and eating loads less. I don't think the next stone and a half will come off as quickly, but I feel like I am well on my way and want to keep it up. I would love to lose another half stone in the next four weeks, maybe by 5th November.

It feels good! Good luck everyone in making your changes.
