Getting slim over the summer failed so how about less fat before Christmas?

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/09/2018 10:25

I had great intentions at the beginning of the summer but the barbecues and the wine and the ice cream and the generally being out of routine ruined all that.

Well technically me being a greedy shite ruined it !!

So my next goal is Christmas.

I need to lose 3 stone and I am going to be realistic for a change and look at a stone and a half by then.

Anyone care to join me ?

And if you could hang around and give me a kick every now and then that would be great too !

Can I join too? I'm pretty sure my li self esteem is ruining my life as I'm fat when I was slim before I was so confident and happy! Want to lose 3 stone happy with 2 stone by Xmas ! Thinking of calorie counting ! Gate exercise but hoping to do work out dvd at home xx

Ethiopianflower · 03/09/2018 23:15

Can I join too. Am at 11st 3lb - would love to lose a stone by Christmas. Going to use MFP and run 4 times a week if I can. I have a wicked sweet tooth which is my downfall. Good luck everyone

DrMadelineMaxwell · 04/09/2018 00:00

Got on those scales this morning!

Eeek! 13.8!
Not happy. I'd was 5lb lower than that in July, but 2 weeks away on holiday and 4 more weeks just hanging around with the kids and having the odd lunch out etc has taken their toll.

Food is rubbish today - sandwiches for lunch provided by work. Then it's our (24th) anniversary today, so DH did a little tea party for us and the girls - so more sandwiches.

I did nip out for a West End Workout class though. And have another booked for Wed and Clubbercise for Fri.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 04/09/2018 05:53

Day 2!
I’m on a 13 hour shift so have made lunch and dinner to take with me.
Lunch is a chicken salad and dinner is a humous salad sandwich, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. Have a good day everyone!

CusheyButterfield · 04/09/2018 05:58

I weighed in yesterday but didn't have time to post. 13.13 - it's a starting point anyhow.

Today I'm having blueberry wheat cereal for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and chicken curry with brown rice for tea. I'm also totally gutting my dd's tip of a room, so that should burn a few calories!

MuddyElephant · 04/09/2018 06:45

I weighed in this morning at 11.2.0 so as expected put weight on lately. Want to be the same after my hol next week and then am setting a stone off by xmas as my goal. Have a good day everyone!

Justturned50 · 04/09/2018 09:05

Are any you of you lovelies over 50? The weight loss challenge seems to have become even harder over the last year or so. Any tips you care to share with a very round apple?

cherryheath · 04/09/2018 10:45

Justturned50 I am 50 too. No tips I'm afraid. To be honest I've never really been over weight before. My chub has appeared over the last three years so I've never really tried to lose weight before. I keep reading that it's much harder to shift as you get older so I guess a drastic reduction in calories consumed is needed. Depressing isn't it.

AromaticSpices · 04/09/2018 10:55

Right, day 1 here. Have had my bday so now feels like a good time. Have brought in supplies to work for the week - chicken, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, apples, yoghurts, so should be able to stay on track for the next few days at least.

Booze in the week is also an issue here so I will allow myself fri/sat only i think.

I will be roughly following a SW approach of low fat but keeping an eye on portion sizes as I dislike the way you can eat huge portions... I've also downloaded the 'eating less' book which is interesting. Either way it happens I really need to lose some weight - I've set myself a 10kg (1.5stone) target by Christmas. I need to do it.

WickedGoodDoge · 04/09/2018 11:24

I’m 50. I know everyone says it’s 80% diet and 20% exercise, but I find that exercise makes a tremendous difference when I’m dieting. The more muscle I have, the higher my metabolism so I can eat quite a bit more and still lose weight. Having said that, I don’t tend to get extra hungry through exercise like a lot of people and I have the time to do a fair amount.

I tried DH’s protein whey drink thing this morning and good Lord it is good! Like drinking a milkshake. I was hoping it would improve my muscle/reduce fat, but now am hoping it will stave off sugar cravings as well.

Silvertap · 04/09/2018 12:04

Can I join too please. 10.5 this morning. I've got a stone to lose. 16 weeks till Xmas so that's my aim.

Today:
B - all bran, hog and strawbs
L - cous cous Greek Salad
T - pasta salad

Plus gym tonight.

BirdieInTheHand · 04/09/2018 13:58

Went for a run yesterday and managed 3km. This time last year I could run 5km in the same time.

Lunch today I had sushi and will have salad tonight after Pilates I also walked to work today so will walk back which allows me to meet my 10k step goal.

TiddlesUpATree · 04/09/2018 14:06

Day 2 here. Last day of the school hols. Just made them pizza and fishfinger wrap. It's killing me. I've had a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. Will have normal dinner and try to pluck up the enthusiasm for 30 mins on the cross trainer later.

Lisabel · 04/09/2018 18:43

Hi Everyone,

I'm finding it hard to stick to calories and I'm on day 2! I think I should go for a run to distract me from craving chocolate!

Birdie- well done for running 3km, hopefully you can build back up to 5km in that time over the next few weeks.

Silvertap · 04/09/2018 19:57

Pizza and fishfinger wrap sounds AMAZING! but not the sort of food I need right now!

cherryheath · 04/09/2018 20:12

Well I've got through day 2. Today was much easier for me than yesterday.

I have been chasing my tail all day and only just sat down which has been a great food distraction.

Just watched my dh eat a whole tub of strawberry and cream Haagen Dazs ice cream 👀🍦

Hope you are all doing ok.

CaseStudyResearch · 04/09/2018 20:22

Travel day with work but managed to do well.

Breakfast - skinny vanilla latte (125 cal)
Lunch - Sainsbury’s prawn pasta salad and mango pot (780 cal)
Snack - 15g of peanuts (90 cal)
Tea - chicken, peach and prosciutto salad with red cabbage, rocket, pear and tomatoes. Roughly about 600 cal.

Done about 7k steps so under 1700 isn’t bad for the day. Think I may have overestimated on tea, but rather over than under!

Cherrysherbet · 04/09/2018 21:26

Hi all, well got my first fast day done yesterday, which went well. It seemed like a long day, but it was such a buzz when I woke up this morning knowing I'd made a good start.
Today was an 'eating day', so I could have 2000 cals. I was busy this morning, and didn't need to eat until 11am, when I had a
cheese and onion sandwich in seeded bread and lots of cherry toms! (500)
Dinner was quorn spaghetti Bol with grated cheese (600)
Then I had calls left, and was hungry, so I've just had scrambled egg on toast! (700). The rest of my calls I used for coffeemate and fruit.

I am now full, and will be going to bed soon.
Tomorrow is another eating day, and I have lots on, so hopefully it will go smoothly.

Have a good night everyone, and here's to a great day tomorrow🙂

RubySlippers77 · 04/09/2018 23:58

Well done to everyone posting with their inspiring days, I'm up very late but trying to keep track of everything!

Doing better here, I won't go as far as actually well, but have refused treats that before I'd have scoffed down and eaten a bit less in general. I'm walking a decent amount (15K per day on average) but would really like to up the cardio - gym/ running/ aerobics etc - as I find that very helpful. Like a PP though, I have two small DC and no opportunity of fitting it in! Thinking about starting buggy running; both mine are heavy little lumps but presumably that would also help with my am muscles?!

Silvertap · 05/09/2018 06:43

Morning all. Good day yesterday. Stuck to the meal plan, did 12k steps and went to the gym (for the first time in a yearBlush)!! Today:

B- have made overnight porridge for the first time in my life. I've never like porridge but I really want to.

L- fish, new potatoes & veg

T - ham pitta and fruit.

Not sure whether I'll go for a run bit stiff after the gym!
