Getting slim over the summer failed so how about less fat before Christmas?

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/09/2018 10:25

I had great intentions at the beginning of the summer but the barbecues and the wine and the ice cream and the generally being out of routine ruined all that.

Well technically me being a greedy shite ruined it !!

So my next goal is Christmas.

I need to lose 3 stone and I am going to be realistic for a change and look at a stone and a half by then.

Anyone care to join me ?

And if you could hang around and give me a kick every now and then that would be great too !

Count me in!! What do I have to do?

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/10/2018 08:30

Thanks all for the kind words.

I am back on it.

Meal plan done.
Walk planned for after work with a friend.
Many jobs in the house listed and ready to tick off. So when I am tempted to snack I am going to get up and do something useful instead.

ruby our berries are long gone sadly.

Good luck with the tests. Feeling ill sucks.

Good luck to all for a healthy and productive day.

Well done howlong and Alan 👏

Nothing wrong with me according to the blood tests, will see if my scan reveals anything. My cholesterol is a bit high but that's probably because I'm eating so much sugar to try to cope with the tiredness! Shock

Making (low fat) shepherds pie later with quorn mince if the DC will give me ten minutes' peace to prepare it...

Good morning all

How is everyone doing?
I am determined to at least get back to where I was before my disastrous week last week.
I am feeling good to be back on plan. I am going to try and face the gym after work.

My plan today is
B. Toast and an egg ( getting a bit bored of this now)
L. Soup (also getting bored of this now)
D. I think we are having thai fish curry
Snacks Apple , satsumas and a packet of mini cheddars

Good luck everyone!

Hello howlong! I hear you on the bored... I've been two months bored and hungry now and I'm so ready to be done! But I've started to get very anxious about anything interfering with my diet or exercise plans, because I hate the setbacks.

Still working on undoing the weekend. By Friday I might just catch up with myself from last Friday... and then I'm making DS's birthday cake and we are going to PizzaExpress for a special birthday tea, so who knows what that will do!

Still on (just about) 17lbs down. And I have another 15 to go... I'm getting obsessed with the numbers and trying to break through to the next kilo barrier.

Today:
B: 2 slices of toast and butter
L: large salad
D: didn't bother
Snacks: raw cake mix, an ancient bar o chocolate from the bottom of my handbag, an apple

Exercise: gym class.

TheVeryHungryDieter · 04/10/2018 09:31

@RubySlippers77 how are you doing? Are you feeling any less tired? X

RubySlippers77 · 04/10/2018 23:30

Not quite Hungry but thank you for asking! I'll probably feel ok again by about this time next week, just in time for AF to start again and bring the exhaustion with it.....

I desperately want to lose weight but can't think how I could face a day without chocolate/ cake/ sugar in some form just to give me a bit of energy! I've walked 20K today with the DC so I do burn off some calories, but sadly not enough to work off all the biscuits Blush

How is everyone else doing? Please send some inspiration this way!

TheVeryHungryDieter · 05/10/2018 06:48

Friday, at last. I'm down another pound, from sheer bloody-minded plugging away at it. I've been logging into MFP daily for 60 days. I get so annoyed when I see ads for weight loss or fake posts on weight loss threads.

IF THERE WAS A QUICK FIX I WOULDN'T BE BORED AND HUNGRY FOR TWO MONTHS!!

But it's the only thing that works.

I'm going to be wrecked today. I went to bed late, and woke at 5 to plan my day. I need to make DS's birthday cake, buy food colouring, get to the gym and do all the usual prep for forest school, GP Day, after school clubs, and look after DD all day as well. And eat the right things, and not eat the wrong things...

Howlongtillbedtime · 05/10/2018 08:16

Good morning all!

I am back in boring control Grin

I have lost the evil 3 pounds I had gained and I have changed my weigh in day to friday.

So my plan today is

B shredded wheat. I couldn't face another bloody boiled egg!
L I am going to grab a sandwich on the way in to work but it will be as healthy as possible.
D I am making an Iranian veggie stew that is really healthy and low cal but tasty.

Snacks will be fruit and a lack of mini cheddars.

Well done very that is fab! And you are so right. It is a boring old slog but worth it.

Good luck to everyone for today and happy Friday !!!

That's wonderful news howlong, you're doing great! Hope you feel as kickass as you sound!

Today I managed to drop DS at school with his three changes of clothes Hmm, get DD to preschool for three hours and within the three hours I did a spinning class, had a shower, drove to town, bought the right kind of green icing, new work flats in primark and my favourite sparkling wine that is only sold in Waitrose (annoyingly you can't even get it from Ocado and they sell EVERYTHING), and got back to take DD swimming and have lunch. Im going to make two more cake tiers and pick up DS. I'm feeling like superwoman but I am so going to crash later...!

B: two slices of sourdough and real butter, coffee and orange juice.
L: Thai coconut curry (those veg pots are my saviour- low calorie and delicious)
T: PizzaExpress for a birthday tea.
Snacks: raw cake mix, an apple, and the rest of the massive bag of maltesers I bought to decorate the cake.

Howlongtillbedtime · 05/10/2018 15:59

I am loving the raw cake mix for a snack very Grin yummy!

How's everyone finding the weekend ?

Weather is miserable here so I am ironing in front of a film.

I haven't even got dressed yet!

I’m down 1.5lbs this week despite eating far too much on Thursday so am 9s 11.5lbs now and am pleased with that. We’re off to Boston for a few days at the end of next week and I fully intend to stuff myself silly on clam chowder, lobster rolls and Boston Cream Pie so might be back up to 10s by the time I get back but I don’t care. Grin

Hopefully I’ll be able to lose another pound before we go.

Howlongtillbedtime · 06/10/2018 17:58

Well done wicked that is a weird fantasy weight for me . I will honestly be happy with 11 stone. I know that sounds a lot for some people but I feel really happy there.

I am really miserable this week. Which is very unconnected with food and weight.

But why do we feed the monster so much when we are sad and grumpy ?

It's not going to really help but still I am doing it. Muppet !

Howlongtillbedtime · 08/10/2018 07:40

Good morning everyone .
Who's still here ?
I should have a calmer week ahead so my plan is a lot more gym .
That won't be hard as I failed most of last week to get there at all!!now

My plan today is
B. Banana (not much time and still haven't showered)
L. I have a Thai curry pot
D. Not sure (one of my jobs is to sodding meal plan today)

Snacks will be fruit and a packet of mini cheddars.

Good luck everyone .

One day at a time and today I will stick to plan!!

TheVeryHungryDieter · 08/10/2018 11:08

Morning howlong. I have had another bad weekend with DS's birthday, and friends over for Sunday lunch with all the extras (and wine!)

But I keep reminding myself I've gone from 85kgs down to 77, and even though I've gone up a bit after the weekend I haven't even reached 78. And you've got to live a little!

I've been doing well at the gym and I'm actually looking forward to going again today.

B: coffee as I'm still full of my tv snacks last night.
L: salad
D: pasta with mushrooms or if DH gets his way, a burger. Or if I go to a late gym session I might be able to skip it.

Snacks: leftover birthday cake obviously.

Howlongtillbedtime · 09/10/2018 19:55

Well done very That is the way to look at it. We have to look at the bigger picture! Or hopefully a smaller picture very soon Grin

Are we alone now ?

OP posts:
TheVeryHungryDieter · 10/10/2018 10:05

Oh I think Wicked and Ruby are still about!

I'm still going. I reckon I'm losing about half a pound to a pound a week, as I do most of the losing during the week, hit my lowest on a Friday morning and then do the damage over a weekend!

I might break into the 76s this week or next. Then we are away for half term, where I'll no doubt rack up another half stone... Confused

It's my birthday after Christmas and my goal is to wear old clothes in the New Year. (When I was 29 my new year's resolution was that I had planned to be a size ten for my 30th birthday. Got pregnant three weeks into that year. Never did see a size ten, and DS is six now...)

RubySlippers77 · 11/10/2018 22:56

I'm still reading but haven't yet got my arse into gear to start actually losing weight! and am avoiding the scales in fear-

How is everyone doing?

TheVeryHungryDieter · 13/10/2018 14:37

Still going - kind of.

I broke into the 76kg range (yay!) but have bloated up for period related reasons so feel like crap.

Although I'm also partly uncomfortable because my jeans feel tight on me again which is an awful feeling. Then again, that is because they are a smaller size (smug). Grin

Howlongtillbedtime · 15/10/2018 07:48

Good morning all. I lost a pound this week but like very I have done some damage over the weekend. Had a great time but lots of booze and food.

Back to it today.

My plan is

B. Boiled egg
L soup
D. Cajun chicken and sweet pot mash.
Snacks fruit and a pack of mini cheddars

I will also make it to the gym today.
I am also going back to tracking on mfp.

Christmas is beginning to loom into view and I want to lose a stone between now and then.

OP posts:
TheVeryHungryDieter · 17/10/2018 19:41

I've had a terrible week. Gained two pounds, have a toothache and I'm very stressed about work piling up.

Trying to keep logging and I haven't been to the gym since Sunday. With DH out tonight and me out tomorrow I'm not likely to get there now either, and we go away for half term on Friday so that's another week.

Feeling very down and need to dig deep this week. About to log in and do some more work now - I finished at 10:30 last night and don't expect it will be much better tonight.

Howlongtillbedtime · 18/10/2018 05:52

very that sounds rubbish.

Are you going anywhere nice for half term ?
At leastvtge stress of work will bigger off for a few days . Can you get some activities in while away ? You have done so well and a 2 pound gain will be easy to lose. When I put that 3 pound on in a week I was gutted but it was the quickest 3 pounds to lose.
Logging everything I find makes the biggest difference.

i keep trying to tell myself that this weight took a long time to get to this point and i guess it's not going to dissapear overnight sadly. Just have to keep plodfing away at it. Boring as hell though !

Good luck for a better day today .

Carastarchild · 28/12/2018 17:31

Just letting you all know that I lost one stone! I really focused on getting rid of my extra weight and working towards a leaner me. I started on the 11th of November and I was down exactly 14lbs on Christmas morning! I have another stone to lose before I get back to the weight I was before my thyroid began to give me trouble.

I hope this post helps to motivate others as you can do it! The first three weeks were the hardest and then it became so much easier. Seeing the loss on the scales as well as seeing that my clothes were becoming looser really motivated me to continue 👏🙌🙏👐👏
