Getting slim over the summer failed so how about less fat before Christmas?

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/09/2018 10:25

I had great intentions at the beginning of the summer but the barbecues and the wine and the ice cream and the generally being out of routine ruined all that.

Well technically me being a greedy shite ruined it !!

So my next goal is Christmas.

I need to lose 3 stone and I am going to be realistic for a change and look at a stone and a half by then.

Anyone care to join me ?

And if you could hang around and give me a kick every now and then that would be great too !

Right, I'm in! Would like to lose a stone by Christmas. I am a slow loser though. Weighed in at 12st exactly. Will try SW and see how we go. Good luck everyone!

MuddyElephant · 03/09/2018 08:43

Well done to everyone who braved the scales this morning, ashamed to say I forgot! (I was om holiday last week so the alarm this morning was a bit of a shock!). Will do tomorrow!

AlanBrazil · 03/09/2018 08:47

Weighed in at 10st 11 today.

RubySlippers77 · 03/09/2018 08:52

Weighing in at 12st 12. Not as bad as I feared but definitely too much for me, I've never been clinically obese before my health issues over the last year or so.

Aim is to lose 2.5 stone by my birthday in May with the first stone by Christmas. Massive breakfast fail today though, completely forgot to make it last night!

Hoping the DC's return to school on Wednesday will allow me to have better shopping/ eating/ cooking habits and not rely on McDonald's so often

idsisatwat · 03/09/2018 08:54

I’m in! Haven’t braved the scales this morning, so will do that tomorrow. Am aiming for a 3st weigh loss. Need to cut out the crap - bags of buttons and Maltesers!!
Plan to reduce my carb intake, as that has worked in the past. And up the exercise. Actually just doing any exercise would be a start!!

Cheekycherry99 · 03/09/2018 08:58

I'm currently 11.5, I had been on a healthy eating plan over summer and I had lost nearly a stone (going from 11.7 to 10.8) however, I went completely with off track and constantly binging. I want to get down to around 8 stone however I need to be careful as o have had issues with restriction and bulimic tendencies in the past.

eatingtomuch · 03/09/2018 09:03

Can I join please. Currently away but returning home later, so will officially weigh in tomorrow.

Last year I lost 5 stone. But this year I have lost another stone then gainers it back and a bit more!!

Really need to sort myself out before I put it all back on.

My plan is to reduce my portions again, reduce snacking (replace with healthier options) and increase exercise (this helped last time but has stopped).

eatingtomuch · 03/09/2018 09:04

Forgot to add also need to lose at least 3 stone

BirdieInTheHand · 03/09/2018 09:05

I'm in last week weighed in at a (for me) shocking 11st 6lb.

Almost a stone heavier than when I was 9mths pregnant.

I've totally been in denial about the weight gain but it's no longer even vaguely possible to hide it with clever dressing.

I lost 6lb last week although I guess mostly water but really hoping for a solid 3lb this week.

Plan:
Started walking the 2km to and from work
Pilates 2x per week
3 x 3 km runs per week (really need to get to 5km)
Generally low carb calorie counting
No alcohol Sunday-thurs

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/09/2018 09:07

I have downloaded mfp (again Blush) and I have filled my diary in for today. Am hoping that this will help Something needs to change .

I need to do this too. I have about 2.5st to lose overall, but aiming for 1 by Christmas and a slow, steady drop over time (it was a slow, steady creep adding it on!).

I managed to lose 2lb over the summer holidays (dire food, loads of walking needed, and a holiday tummy/gut issue - we were at a sports event for DD in China).

I have little time for exercise, but I am trying to get back to swimming at least once a week. And I have started back on my salads for lunch today - loads of veg and no dressing. I'm guessing a big thing to help would be cutting back on alcohol - we were pretty good on holidays, and have lost interest a bit since getting home (and have very little in anyway). So I will keep that cupboard very understocked and see if that helps.

cherryheath · 03/09/2018 09:23

Morning all

Just weighed in, I am 11st 2lb

I have just blow dried my hair and put some make up on which is the start of the new me Grin

Good luck to us all.

worstmotherintheworld · 03/09/2018 09:31

Can I join too? I feel like I am getting fatter by the day, the school holidays and the heatwave have done me no favours - I seem to have lived on a diet of ice cream and stodgy carbs for the past few months. I feel so annoyed at myself as I know what to do but struggle with the motivation to say on the wagon!
I have about 3 stone to lose in the long term, I would be delighted to lose 1 and a half by the end of the year. I aim to follow SW eating plan, mostly veggie if possible, and walking will be my exercise. Thanks for starting this Howlongtillbedtime, your timing is perfect!

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/09/2018 10:24

cherry That is such a bit part of it isn't it ? Feeling like you are worth making the effort for. If my dh treated me the way I treat myself I would have dumped his arse years ago.

Ooops big not bit

Chipotlejars · 03/09/2018 10:55

That is such a good point, why do we do it to ourselves? (Or not do more for ourselves?)

Its a cliche but its very easy to get in to the habit of providing and trying our best for everyone else, resulting in having no energy left to look after ourselves and "making do".

Kim82 · 03/09/2018 11:13

I totally agree, why is it that we put everyone else before ourselves and put so little effort into anything nice for us? Just this weekend I decided that was stopping. I went into town by myself on Saturday morning, had my nails and eyebrows done, booked and appt for my hair for this Wednesday and I put make up on both yesterday and today and I blow dried and straightened my hair yesterday - that’s almost unheard of for me unless it’s for a special occasion!

We are worth our own time and effort.

Today is going well so far, I had my egg and spinach on toast for breakfast, my soup is ready in the fridge for lunch and I have just made the pasta dish for dinner which will just need rehearing later either at work or when I get home. Dh is entertaining the dc (it’s his day off today) so I’m having 10 mins to sit and do nothing.

Chipotlejars · 03/09/2018 11:16

Good for you Kim82!

Carastarchild · 03/09/2018 11:25

11st 13lbs.....23lbs to go

How did this happen 🙈🙈🙈

Onwards and upwards...well downwards in terms of weight 😄

I am determined to do this 🙌

BiddyPop · 03/09/2018 11:36

I'm currently, for the sake of being accountable, 12st12 and aiming to get to 10st7 at least, perhaps closer to 10st.

The good news is that I am 3lbs lighter than 4 weeks ago (before holidays), and life should be slightly less frantic this term than the past year (or 5) have been.

Mindgone · 03/09/2018 11:40

.

CaseStudyResearch · 03/09/2018 12:41

Also looking to shift about 10kg. I lost about 10kg 18 months ago and have put on about 3-4. I’m currently 73 and looking to be 63, possibly 60 depending on how I feel at 63.

We’ve got a big trip planned to Thailand next March so would like to be 63kg for that.

Aiming to cut out snacking, takeaways and the 8pm chocolate need. Just going to meal plan and keep portions smaller. Sainsbury’s delivery has just arrived with a lot of veg so hopefully a good week lined up!

MamamamaT · 03/09/2018 12:57

Can I join please? Have about 1 1/2 stone to lose and would be happy with a stone by Christmas. I'm only a few weeks PP so can't go too crazy in terms of restricting food (sleep deprivation + BF make that doubly inadvisable I think) but just want to focus on slowly and steadily getting back to pre baby weight as I seem to be a bit stuck at a size where none of my clothes fit at all and I'm not losing any. Feel like it should be falling off with the BF but I guess I must be (more than) making up for it with snacks!

50Running50 · 03/09/2018 13:28

Hell no! All the running means I eat more!!!

Too much. I've not trained much over the summer, hence putting the weight on. I'm a winter runner

Will do a belated weigh tomorrow

MinaPaws · 03/09/2018 14:07

So far today
Homemade porridge with water, cinnamon and a banana, black coffee.

Leaf salad with carrots and sweetcorn, 2 plums, 1 apple, 1.5 slices of Wensleydale cheese, cup of tea.

But been doing admin all morning so no exercise.
