Getting slim over the summer failed so how about less fat before Christmas?

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/09/2018 10:25

I had great intentions at the beginning of the summer but the barbecues and the wine and the ice cream and the generally being out of routine ruined all that.

Well technically me being a greedy shite ruined it !!

So my next goal is Christmas.

I need to lose 3 stone and I am going to be realistic for a change and look at a stone and a half by then.

Anyone care to join me ?

And if you could hang around and give me a kick every now and then that would be great too !

So far today:

B - turkey bacon rashers and scrambled eggs

L - rice wrap thing with shredded vegetables and mango, dipped into soy sauce.

D - ??

TiddlesUpATree · 03/09/2018 15:23

Weighed in this morning. Was much more than I thought it would be ☹️. I will be trying the slim fast style (but not slimfast) smoothie or protein drink for breakfast and lunch and healthy dinner and probably relaxing a bit on weekends. Only an hour and a half till tea time. Tick tick. Will be easier when kids are back at school I think.

Cardiganandcuppa · 03/09/2018 15:29

I weighed in this morning too. id like to lose 3 stones ideally, though id probably be happy with 2.

The plan is calorie counting (i usually lose at a decent rate at about 1500) 15 minutes of yoga and 10,000 steps a day.

Lisabel · 03/09/2018 15:36

Yes please!

Very overweight at the moment (15st 2 & three quarters), have been 10 stone in the last three years so I'm a massive yo-yo dieter (pun intended).

I'd love to lose as much as possible for Christmas!

Lisabel · 03/09/2018 15:38

Oh also

B: nada
L: Tomato soup (112 calories) with a roll (137) and a slice of cheese (100 calories) = 349 calories so far.

ShakespearesSisters · 03/09/2018 15:56

Ok, I'm going to join you. I'm currently a stone heavier than when I joined slimming world after my second baby 😢 (13st 8 this morning - I want to be 10st again, I have been there since I had baby 2)
I have real issues with stuffing my face with sweets and biscuits. I definitely comfort eat too. I'm hoping the fact that both my kids will be at school from tomorrow and I won't be out eating cake with my friends while our preschoolers play will help. I need to get stuck into the decluttering, hopefully this will distract me from eating.

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/09/2018 16:07

So far so good today
B boiled eggs and soldiers
I tomato and basil soup
D Will have jkt pot with beef and lentil chilli and a green salad.

Snack pkt mini cheddars

I have been to the gym and I also went to meet a friend for a coffee at a local cafe. Had just coffee and no cake or savouries so yay!
Walked the mile there and mile back which is also a bit yay!

I am back to school tomorrow and I think the old routine will help too.

Well done all for sticking to it today.

One day at a time !!

I’d like to join too. I’m also on one of the lose half a stone in Sept threads, but really my goal is just under 1.5 stones by Christmas. I weigh on a Saturday but for the purposes of this thread will pretend it’s a Monday. I’m 5’ 4” and 10 4.5lbs. I want to be 9s 7lbs by 12 October (holiday) then 9s by Christmas.

I cycle three times per week (2x 30km and 1 x 50km) and do weights at the gym twice a week. DH has just persuaded me to add one of his protein whey drinks into my diet so that’s new for me. Otherwise I’m a creature of habit and have porridge every morning with some combination of blueberries/strawberries/banana/walnuts, salad for lunch with either prawns, chicken or salmon. Then I have whatever I want for dinner.

On Saturday’s I have whatever I want including dessert. I barely drink so can’t really cut down there.

Snacking is my downfall but am on day three with no snacks so hopefully that will make the difference and let me lose weight.

Spartak · 03/09/2018 16:33

I’m in! Although I’m currently on holiday in Italy so will be starting next week
I was 14.7 before I came away. At least four stone more than I’d like to be. I’ve signed up for a beginners Crossfit course for two days after I get home.

Planning to calorie count. I’ll start by taking lunch into work with me as the canteen is my biggest downfall.

RosyP · 03/09/2018 16:35

Joining...as,Im doing this too. Going to be low fat natural foods. Meat, veg, fruit and wholemeal bread. Smoothies (homemade) soup (homemade) etc. Thanks Howlong :)

MamamamaT · 03/09/2018 16:44

WickedGood, I've got similar stats to you - 10st3 atm, would like to be down to 9 by Christmas and eventually about 8st10. Not doing any exercise atm as recently had DS2 but trying to keep as active as I can under circumstances and go to a class whenever I can (will be as and when but max 2 a week) I also barely drink and eat quite well at meals and so it's snacks (and puddings) that are the prob atm. Seem to have a bit of a tendency to drag out one meal until the next meal (aka have another slice of toast 1 hour after first one, then maybe one more...!)

AromaticSpices · 03/09/2018 17:11

Can I join please? Will start in earnest tomorrow Smile

cheesemongery · 03/09/2018 17:13

Could I join also please? I always convince myself that I will lose weight for summer, never do then think hurrah it's winter jumper time!

I weighed myself this morning 14st10lb, I am 5'8 so need to lose 3 at least. I'd be happy with 2 by Christmas.

I like the taking it day by day so will make up some meal plans - we've got some nice quarter pound burgers that need eating this evening though, so... I'll go naked burger and salad!

Babyg1995 · 03/09/2018 18:02

I'm in weighed in today I'm 10,4 want to be 9,7 at 5,7 that's my Perfect weight ive cut out booze all together was doing it every sat wasn't doing my waist line any favors so it's gym twice a week and healthy eating .

NiceUnusualDifferent · 03/09/2018 18:13

Can I join please? I lost 1st 3lb earlier this year with SW then fell off the wagon and have spent the summer eating & drinking like I’m training for a competitive eating contest!!
Weighed in this morning at 11st exactly, my target for Christmas is 10st, would ultimately like to be 9st 7lb but concentrating on 1st loss to begin with.

B - grapes, banana & yoghurt with a cup of coffee
L - ham & egg salad
D - roast chicken dinner
Snacks - a pear after lunch and meringue, quark & choc shot after dinner

WickedGoodDoge · 03/09/2018 18:54

@MamamamaT yeah, the toast (or similar) thing is me too. I’m very bad at thinking “oh, I’ll just have another...”. Am hoping that by participating in a couple of threads I’ll be able to stop myself through self inflicted pressure.

Ilikecurrybest · 03/09/2018 19:18

Ok so managed 10000 steps weighed in at 11stone 9and a half Blush. I'm currently sipping water and lemon juice Smile

AlanBrazil · 03/09/2018 19:29

Dinner was a bit of washout this evening, I made mango chicken with red cabbage slaw and sweet potato wedges but had that thing where by the time I'd cooked it all I felt like I'd eaten it three times over so didn't actually manage that much of it.

Will see if I feel hungry later on

cherryheath · 03/09/2018 20:26

I've hated today, I hate having to deprive myself of chocolate and biscuits. Lost count of how many times today I nearly caved.

I hope that tomorrow is a little easier.

Day 1 done. I'm going to bed Grin

Kim82 · 03/09/2018 20:30

Hey everyone, so my first day went well. I had:

B - egg and spinach on toast
L - soup, ham and cucumber
D - bacon and courgette pasta

I too some chopped melon, strawberries and grapes and a fat free yoghurt to snack on at work and I’ve just had some weight watchers cookies (4 syns on SW) and a cereal bar (3 syns). I’ve had 2.5 litres of water to drink too. I haven’t felt hungry once today either so all in all it’s been a good food day.

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/09/2018 20:41

Day 1 done !
A good day and I am really pleased to have made a start. A long way to go but the only way is down now Grin

I am tempted to go to bed now as well cherry

Joining in too. Hopefully in Oz for Xmas so would like to loose 10kg. Need to find my ‘stop’ button and get the Fitbit out again.

PonyRainbowCake · 03/09/2018 21:07

Please may I join, need to lose 2 st. Again Blush

MamamamaT · 03/09/2018 21:14

@WickedGoodDoge yep hopefully the whole accountability thing will help!

Is there anyone on here with really young kids? I'm trying to work out ways of building activity (for me) into most days. Easier at the moment to get out and about for little walks but when the weather is grim it'll be harder. Will really try to just get suited up and head out anyway. Prob is walks with a toddler and a baby don't tend to be of the heart rate - raising, purposeful stride variety, more the agonising dawdle...

sendcoffee · 03/09/2018 21:24

Can I join too??

Want to lose 2.5 - 3 stone. I'd be happy with 2.5.
Was also back to school today so hoping the routine will help. I'm doing MFP and aiming for 1200 - 1500 calories. Not sure which is best, but if I get in between those numbers I'll be happy.
My job is quite active so I easily do my 10,000 steps each day. Just need to get into the gym routine now the summer holidays are over.
Today I've had:

B - bran flakes, banana and coffee with semi skimmed milk (280 cals)
L - cheese & picked baguette, crisps (655 cals, lunch provided by work for a training day)
D - vegetable stew (133 cals)
Snacks - Lindt lindor and coffees! (300 cals)

Snack have been my downfall today but I'm happy with my total calories and I've drunk over 2 litres of water today!
I will weigh in the morning!
