Getting slim over the summer failed so how about less fat before Christmas?

I had great intentions at the beginning of the summer but the barbecues and the wine and the ice cream and the generally being out of routine ruined all that.

Well technically me being a greedy shite ruined it !!

So my next goal is Christmas.

I need to lose 3 stone and I am going to be realistic for a change and look at a stone and a half by then.

Anyone care to join me ?

And if you could hang around and give me a kick every now and then that would be great too !

How are you getting on howlong? Weekends are certainly tricky. Went to a venue today which I was sure would have some healthy options (jacket potatoes, salads etc) - sadly not!! I'm veggie but DP has eaten tons of meat today, he knows it's not good for him to eat so much (red) meat but has eaten burgers, sausages, bacon, kebabs etc..... he has a diabetes check again soon and I don't think the GP is going to be pleased with him.

He's taken the DC to visit his mum & dad for an hour or so which means I can do some meal planning - hooray! And have a shower in peace, which is amazing Grin

I've made the decision to step back a bit from my friendship with the girl who didn't tell me about the weekend away. No idea if it was her decision not to invite me - I don't know who organised it - but she certainly didn't mention it to me and I often put myself out for her, but it seems the feeling isn't reciprocated. I won't stop being friends but I feel that maybe the friendship was more on my side, and her side was out of politeness/ convenience, hence I'm going to be a bit quieter. Feel a bit better for making the decision but seeing social media full of this weekend's exploits certainly hasn't done wonders for my self esteem!

Hi ruby actually not too bad. I managed to get to the gym so hopefully haven't done too much damage this weekend.
Sounds very sensible to take a step back from your friend. Sometimes just doing that makes the other person realise what they had ?? I hate issues around friendships . It makes me feel like I'm back at school again!

How has the meal planning gone ? Favourite job of the week Grin

My weekend was a bit rubbish. They always are. If dieting only worked on what you ate Monday to Friday I'd be a size 8 by now.

Yesterday I put on my gym clothes and when I got there and dropped DD at her class, my best friend was there on her own so we had a coffee and a chat instead. I didn't exercise. And then we went round hers after lunch and we took all the kids to the circus together. It was great! And so was the popcorn, candy floss, biscuits... Blush we had planned to get takeaway after but luckily too full of junk food to eat much! I'm using a 1600 cal threshold so it's normally loads, but I was quite a way over it again last night.

Today I got to gym class, stayed within my calorie count (not without difficulty as I'd made DS a pumpkin pie) but still feel it's been too much sugar. That said, I've worked hard at it all week.

Tomorrow morning will be the moment of truth! Good luck everyone!

Good morning everyone. I posted earlier but it has disappeared.

2 pounds off this week which is fine by me. It has taken a long time to get this size and it is not going to fall off overnight. (Sadly)

So my plan today is
No breakfast . I'm not hungry yet so will leave it.
L soup
D. Jacket pot with homemade chilli
Snacks. Mini cheddars and an Apple

I am going to take my gym hear to work but if I don't get there I will live. I went sat and Sun so it might be too much to again today.

Howlong 2lbs is great! You’re better doing it nice and steady rather than unsustainable quick loss.

I’m down 1.5lbs which puts me at 10s 0.5lbs. So close to seeing a 9 again! So close. Grin

I’m off to the gym in a few minutes to do weights. Then I have a ton of housework because the house is a complete tip and DD has a friend coming round. The current state is too embarrassing for visitors. Blush

Hi everyone! Hope you all had nice weekends. Sorry to hear about your 'friends' Ruby - that's shit of them. Stepping back a little sounds like a good plan. Bastards!

I have STS this week. Which I deserved after the weekend - I had a very good Monday to Friday but I had two birthdays this weekend, both close family, so birthday cake, meals out etc. We went to an Italian yesterday and instead of ordering a massive pizza I had grilled prawns and a tomato/red onion/parsley which was lovely. So I have made some ok choices, I would definitely have put on this week though had I not reined in on some of it!

I really feel like logging on MFP is helping though and keeping me in check - the 1200 limit every day is actually quite difficult to reach on a normal day so I'm happy with the way it's going. Weekends are a different story though!!

Hello everybody,

I had a bit of a wobbly week, I started well, fell off the wagon on Thursday and Friday and clawed it back over the weekend. I've struggled with what I think is low blood sugar, I suddenly get very nauseous and faint and get the feeling I need to eat that second. I have my calories set at 1650 on MFP but I'm still breastfeeding and that's maybe burning more calories than I thought. According to my scales I have lost 1.6kg which is a good loss but I'd rather lose a bit more slowly and not feel awful and hungry!

I hope all goes well with the kitchen renovation Birdie, maybe you could have some salads and cold meat for dinner some days.

Wickedgood I do a lot of baking but freeze the cakes and just take out one slice at a time as a treat

Baby is crying so Well done everyone on their weight loss and good luck next week for those that are just starting out or STS this week.

I meant to say earlier that wk3 is traditionally the week that the novelty has worn off a bit and I give up. I am determined to not do that this time so all kicks are very welcome at the minute .

Today however DH has just eaten our tea for lunch and now I'm not sure what to have! Aiming to go to my gym class tonight too. Tired and headachy though thanks to ds being up in the night.

Suffering today with AF, just want to curl up, sleep and eat chocolate. All at the same time, preferably! DTS1 has been up since 5.30am which doesn't help Sad

I've been a lot quieter with the girl I usually talk to all the time - not rude - just not sent messages anywhere near as often. I thought we were good friends, but to not even tell me about the weekend away (I don't know if she was in a position to invite me) has really hurt my feelings. Add to that DP going AWOL for ages yesterday doing errands and the DC being hard work, and it wasn't a great start to the week for me...

Sounds great Ruby, I love HelloFresh but the family portions are big for just me, DH and the kids so we adults end up eating 3.5 of the 4 portions in the family box... Blush so now we only get a box when we have visitors coming to stay!

My weekend wasn't too bad in the end - Mondays weigh-in had me down a little bit. But a little bit is as welcome as a big bit.

Edging towards 15lbs total now. It's slowed down a lot after the first three weeks. Gym tonight if DH gets home in time, although he has said he'll be a bit late. Just had a salad for lunch and to be honest (and slightly pathetic) I genuinely want another one for tea as well. I'm really craving salads today. I don't know what happened to me!!

I will, had the same intentions but to lose a stone, I just can't get in the frame of mind. Say I'm going to cut back and exercise every night then I wake up and don't do it. I'm annoying myself tbh.

It’s such a miserable day here and all of DH’s trains are cancelled so I may have to go into town later and rescue him. Grin I’ve already made the dinner just in case (mango and chicken curry) and it’s stinking up the whole house but fortunately is not making me hungry.

Yesterday I was ravenous in the afternoon- proper absolutely starving so gave in and had a large bit of cornbread as a snack. I’m trying to not have any snacks but yesterday was way beyond a mild rumbling tummy!

Ruby what HelloFresh recipe did you make? And was it good?

I've had an annoying day. Wednesday is typically when I run out of things I want to eat but between work, commute and kids there is no time and I can't go shopping until DH gets home. I've eaten more lightly than I planned and I'm starving! Tesco man comes on a Friday morning as that's my non working day, so I need to figure out tomorrow's meals too!

DH is very keen for me to go to the gym tonight though. I've downloaded a podcast and a stationary bike workout and I'm going to try that today. Knee hurts too much to run or lift, and to be honest with myself and you all, I'm still going to bounce on it at my body combat class on Friday so I might as well try something gentle on it today.

Now the question is, can I trust myself not to buy snacks when I stop to get petrol on the way...?

Hi all, haven't posted for a couple of days, but I'm still on track...just busy! I've lost a total of 6lbs now. I feel better already, so must keep it up.

I love reading all your updates, everyone is doing so well.
Ruby glad you are backing off a bit from your 'friend'. I think it might be for the best. Don't let people like her control the way you feel, she really isn't worth your time 🙂
howlong I know what you mean about week three! Many times I've thought I'm doing great, then it sneaks up and bites me on the bum 😂 We need to be extra focussed this week!
hungry I need to know if you avoided those snacks??

endofmytether I think we've all been there! It's so hard. The only thing to do is draw a line, focus and get stuck in! We're all in the same boat.

Fasting day for me tomorrow. Working early as usual, so will be distracted.

Horrendous AF for me this week but hooray, GP appointment on Saturday, hopefully will get some answers (or at least more tests to work out the answers!). Thank you Cherrysherbet for your kind words - I honestly did think this girl was a better friend than that - I'm still a bit hurt but trying to move on in a positive way by making more effort to talk to other friends.

Felt wintery here today, never mind autumnal! My search for good waterproof boots continues, I have two DC who need to be walked regularly come rain or shine; it's much like having puppies but at least it burns up a few more calories Grin

Ruby you are moving forward in a positive way, and that really is the best thing to do. Life's too short to let people like that drag you down. Hope you get the answers to need at the GP.

I had a great fast day yesterday. I am now getting to the stage where I am finding them easier, and not over thinking them, which is good.

I'm going out tonight with Dh and friends for a curry (and 🍷!!) so this will be the first real 'test' since starting on plan nearly 3 weeks ago. It's funny how it can throw you off track if you're not careful. My plan for today is nothing until lunchtime at work, when I will have a sandwich and lots of cherry toms. Then I will have a snack of some kind in between getting home and going out tonight. When I am out tonight...anything goes!! I am the kind of person who's eats more when alone. When I'm out with friends, the focus is more on chatting etc... so I'm hoping I won't go over the top. I have limited time now until I go on hols, so I need to stay focussed. What ever happens tonight, I will be an angel tomorrow! Haha!

Have been mad busy at work but just about keeping on track. Really need to get to the gym, haven't been since Sunday which is rubbish.

I am going out tonight so there will be wine. Will have to keep my wits and stay on track. It's always tricky after drinks .

My plan today is

Snacks will be fruit and sunbites.
