Getting slim over the summer failed so how about less fat before Christmas?

I had great intentions at the beginning of the summer but the barbecues and the wine and the ice cream and the generally being out of routine ruined all that.

Well technically me being a greedy shite ruined it !!

So my next goal is Christmas.

I need to lose 3 stone and I am going to be realistic for a change and look at a stone and a half by then.

Anyone care to join me ?

And if you could hang around and give me a kick every now and then that would be great too !

Hi. Am I too late to join please? I've really been struggling with my eating recently. Culminating last night In eating a whole bag of eclairs, a magnum,
Peanut butter cups an sweets.

I need to change. So today's aim:
10K steps & be kind to myself
Avocado on toast for breakfast
Chicken salad for lunch
Not sure for tea - have a massive glut
Of tomatoes to use up but the recipe I was planning is fairly unhealthy (puff pastry tomato tart)

I am the same with sweet things...total sugar addict! It's so tough, especially when the sweet treats seem to be everywhere!

I will have to be extra good today as I am out at a friend's tonight so there will be wine and snacks no doubt.

I have made a ham salad for lunch and will have a light dinner.

I am also going to the gym today so that should help.

Had another lunch out today - really need to get my act together with bringing lunches in - but only had a soup and a roll as I had breakfast today (usually 16:8 and skip breakfast) so wasn't very hungry by lunchtime. So still on target.

Not sure what to do for dinner - what are you all having? Inspire me!

Hope you had a good evening howlong , it's so tough to have temptation put in your way when you've just started an eating plan. How is the gym going?

Aromatic it sounds like you are doing really well. Making better choices from the menu whilst out and about is all part of a healthier lifestyle. I've only just started bringing lunch to work (when I'm not on a fast day!) it takes a bit more organisation, but I'm finding it better, as I don't have food choices to make when I'm hungry at lunchtime!)

So an eating day for me. I won't eat anything until about 12pm at work. I like to stretch my fast out for as long as I can, as it seems to help the weight loss. I've got a lovely cheese and onion sandwich in my bag, and lots of cherry toms 😋 I'm looking forward to it already!
I think dinner tonight will be a quorn spag bol, and might have a couple of treats tonight with left over cals.

Hope everyone has a good day. The weekend is looming, and if you're anything like me, that's when things get a little more tricky!! Stay strong. We CAN do this!

So yesterday went well. Stuck to my meal plan and came in on mfp cals.

Today:
B - avocado on toast
L - ham and coleslaw salad
T - lentil & halloumi salad

Good morning all

cherry gym is going ok thank you . Last night was cancelled in the end nd for once I wasn't too disappointed. stayed within calories and no booze for the night . I stupidly stepped on the scales this morning and haven't lost since Monday which is annoying but will keep on keeping on.

Plan today is
B. Toast and banana
L soup
D chicken sausage and roasted veg
Snacks satsumas and sunbitesa

I will also have some wine later as seeing friends but will be careful.

Urgh didn't lose anything last week which is really depressing because apart from on night out I'd been pretty strict on my 1200 limit.

Current problem is we're extending our kitchen so the old one was ripped out yesterday. We're going to have about three weeks with no kitchen. Which will mean lots of toast, pasta and takeaway!

Cherry snickerdoodles are cinnamon sugar cookies from heaven. I’d baked a batch and frozen half but I obviously usually eat more of them than I think because with only DC eating them, they weren’t being eaten very quickly! In future will have a quarter batch out at a time!

Birdie you have my sympathies! We had our kitchen done a few years ago and it was three weeks of microwave meals! Drove me crazy! I’m keeping this kitchen forever even if it falls to bits. Moving house would be easier.

I take Saturdays off and eat whatever I like which helps me keep on track Friday night and Sunday. I cycle 50km on Saturday mornings to try to offset some of the indulgence.

Does anyone else go recipe mad when they diet? I did this first time round- gathering tons of new recipes to try. I think I feel that if I’m cutting my portions sizes and not snacking that I only want to eat really nice meals.

Ugh. Didn't do so well last night. Shattered after a stressful evening at work and had a mini feast of nature's valley bars, bread and butter and the only chocolate I could find in the house.

Onwards and upwards today.

Wicked those snickerdoodle cookies sound amazing!! I'd better not find a recipe for them anywhere or there'll be no hope of me being less podgy by Xmas!

Frustrating few days for me, the TV and both computers managed to pack up simultaneously, plus MN logged me out on every device and I then couldn't reset the password! I think some issues were due to broadband but the TV one is because it's just a bit rubbish. I've fixed the ones I can but a new TV may be needed, much to DP's joy - he's always moaned that it's too small (even though he chose it!). Anyhow, foodwise I have been plodding along, but with AF due this weekend I doubt my good resolutions will be kept - turns me into an absolute sugar fiend.

Bit sad today as thanks to my new found return to social media, I noticed that a group of girls I've been friends with for years have all gone away for a weekend without me. No-one has mentioned it let alone invited me Sad I wouldn't have been able to go as DP is generally rubbish with the DC and couldn't manage a weekend with them on his own, plus I don't have the money, but still - an invite would have been appreciated. Trying to avoid shovelling in some cake to console myself!

hendricksy 1 1/2 pounds is fab! That would make a massive difference over a couple of months.
Me too flowery wasn't completely awful but I had wine and crisps and dips which aren't exactly on plan !!
ruby That sucks! I know as a grown up we shouldn't take these things personally but I would be upset too. If they are usually a nice bunch then maybe they just knew your dh was a bit shite and so no point in asking. Not nice though.

Back on track here today

Have had boiled eggs and soldiers for brunch
Will have the chicken sausages and veg tonight that I didn't do last night due to wine and crisp consumption.

Good luck everyone . Weekends are tricky but weigh in on Monday so will try and make today and tomorrow count.

How is everyone managing their Saturday ?

Wine here which never helps the moderation of calories thing!!!

But I am trying to keep to my 1300!!

If it goes up a little bit I won't be too grumpy however. I know it will still be better than a month ago.!

I’m a bit late to the group but can I join too please, prob need to lose 3 stone by Christmas (currently 12st 8oz) so I’m slimmer and healthier for my 40th in January it’s almost my present to myself but I’m struggling a bit. Motivation hasn’t been good but hoping I can join in and hearing how everyone is doing will spur me on and encourage me, thanks 😊

Thanks howlong, I do hope that's the case, it's just made me feel more isolated than ever. One of the girls I speak to every single day as she uses my parking space to drop her DC at the school nearby, and she never breathed a word of it - maybe because they didn't want to invite me?! The trouble is that DP isn't good with the DC on his own and does moan if I spend money going out with friends, so I don't really, other than the odd coffee here and there. I'm a SAHM - not by choice but because we can't afford childcare - and I think that doesn't help with my weight loss efforts.

Boiled eggs and soldiers sounds great though Smile

Cheers howlong gotta have a treat now and then! I've just had a (rather large) bag of revels! I'm on an eating day, and haven't had much today, so I thought I'd have a treat! I hope I don't regret it in the morning. I have very guilty feelings when I eat chocolate. It's my downfall.

I just looked at my calendar, and realised it's only 5 weeks until I go on holiday, and I have a two night break in 3 weeks ( where I will be eating/ drinking out). I really want to lose a decent amount before I go on holiday on 19th Oct.....I need to focus, and up my game!

Good morning everyone

Last day to make a difference before weigh in tomorrow! Hoping that will keep me focussed . I really want to see another good loss.

My plan today is
Just a banana for breakfast as I am having an early lunch .
Lunch will be a sandwich (visiting elderly relative and it's always the same)
Dinner fish curry which will be yummy.

Lots of jobs to do at home today so that should keep me busy this afternoon and away from temptation.

Back to work tomorrow . I am lucky that I enjoy my job and I really enjoy the routine as well. I definitely manage healthy eating better in the week.
