16:8 anyone?

I've restricted myself to eating between 12pm-8pm, so 2 meals and an evening hot chocolate. Just started this week and have lost 4lbs so far Smile
Aiming to loose another 10lbs by the end of September - would anyone like to join me?

Forgot to weigh on Friday, weighed today and another pound off so that's half a stone since starting.
Ate some rubbish last week so will really knuckle down this week and hopefully loose another few pounds by the end of the month.

Weigh in tomorrow, how's everyone doing this week?

Hiya 👋 currently having a really busy time at work and home so have trying my best to stay on track but don't think I've lost any this week as have been eating extra as so hungry. Nothing sweet or too fatty just extra at dinner. Tried to reign it back since Tuesday.

How is everyone else doing?

ILiveInSalemsLot · 13/09/2018 21:40

I just couldn’t get into it when I first posted on this thread so I thought I’d do a 3 day juice fast to ‘reset’ myself.
It’s been a torture but hopefully it’s worked.
I’ve kicked my bread cravings so that’s a start but I’m still craving crisps. I feel like I should do a few more days of the juice fast but I don’t think I could bear it.

PerditaNitt · 14/09/2018 07:09

Morning all! So I’m down to 11st 8lb this morning which means a 1lb loss (so 6lbs since starting). It would have been nice to see a 2lb loss, but at least I’m going in the right direction.

Have been finding I’m comfortable with being hungry in the morning before breaking my fast (I would describe it as peckish now). Finding it harder to stop myself attacking the snack cupboard in the evening, so I’m allowing myself a cup of herbal tea and a biscuit or little chocolate at the end of my fast as a treat, just so I feel like I’ve had my evening snack. The games we play with ourselves...!

3 days of a juice fast sounds sufficiently intense! Might be good to do this fast again if you hit a weight loss plateau.

whatifI · 14/09/2018 19:14

Weighed myself this morning, ended up with 1/2 a pound. Could have been worse so going to try harder to get back into the right mindset again

whatifI · 14/09/2018 19:16

That should be 1/2 a pound gain ☹

shazkiwi · 14/09/2018 19:43

Hello there I'd like to join in. I've been eating this way for 1 week now. My window is between 1pm & 9 pm which I've found easy to stick to. It isn't until I start eating that I feel hungry & I've found that it takes less to eat to fill me up. I do drink lots of tea with skimmed milk outside these hours - no way I'm giving that up. I don't know how much I've lost because I didn't weight to start with - I only had a rough idea. But I noticed today that the waistband on a pair of trousers was looser so something is happening. Ideally I'd like to loose 4 stone - gulp

WeAreSailing · 14/09/2018 19:57

Anyone still around?
Did lots of research on the 5:2 but think the Intermittent Diet suits me better.
Haven't eaten breakfast for years but clearly made up the calorie deficit later on in the day Angry

WeAreSailing · 14/09/2018 19:59

Am on day 1 but what bothers me most is not being able to drink my Nespresso lattes Confused

NicoAndTheNiners · 14/09/2018 21:10

Well done on the losses people.

I’ve had a static week this week but have lost 1.5kg of fat and put on 1.5kg of muscle. Which is good I guess.

I need to be stricter with my food next week. This last week I seem to have alternated between good days and bad days!

NicoAndTheNiners · 14/09/2018 21:11

@wearesailing. I’m naughty and drink a Nescafé mocha every morning...can’t function without it. I know I’m technically breaking the fast but tell myself it’s not food so doesn’t count! I know it really does!
.

WeAreSailing · 14/09/2018 21:23

@NicoAndTheNiners
I have at least 3 (albeit with skimmed milk) so to even get it down to one would be a massive achievement!

WeAreSailing · 14/09/2018 21:24

Does everyone own super flash electronic scales?

NicoAndTheNiners · 14/09/2018 21:43

I don’t own flash scales but the gym has very flash scales with handgrips which send electric currents round your body!

I have a mocha first thing which is about 80 calories and breaks the fast out of my window and then another mid afternoon but that’s in my eating window.

Gwenhwyfar · 16/09/2018 16:05

I don't get it. It's just skipping breakfast. I wouldn't snack after my evening meal anyway.

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/09/2018 16:28

Well then you should find it quite easy. Smile

There’s meant to be a host of health benefits to do with evening out your blood sugar, lowering the chances of diabetes, etc.

And as well as skipping breakfast it’s also skipping any mid morning snacks which a lot of people seem to have.

PerditaNitt · 16/09/2018 21:54

Welcome shazkiwi and wearesailing!

I just had an abysmal weekend food wise (decided to do some home baking, had some visitors and parties too) and didn’t follow the eating windows at all and ate rich foods. As well as feeling disappointed i ruined some of my good work, I also feel really lethargic and bloated from not having the longer breaks from eating. I am determined to get back on the track tomorrow, not just because I want to meet my weight goals but because this way of eating really does make me feel physically better. I know that if I can have a super week after a weekend blow-out then it will give me the confidence to see this as a longer term way of eating.

Good luck for the week ahead everyone!

Gwenhwyfar · 17/09/2018 00:19

"Well then you should find it quite easy. smile"

Not really. So many years of being told that skipping breakfast is bad for you. I never eat it as a students and had lunch at 12, but these days lunch is not till closer to 1 so I think I'd find it harder.
I don't have a mid morning snack either.
Might be that it wouldn't make much difference for me then. I can see me eating my breakfast calories at lunch anyway.

NicoAndTheNiners · 17/09/2018 06:39

I don’t find I eat my breakfast calories back. I find it hard again about 9-10am but if I can get through that period the hunger goes and I’m not actually that hungry by midday.

shazkiwi · 17/09/2018 09:49

Well I survived my another weekend & managed to say no to a salted caramel ice-cream with flake! Perdita sometimes life gets in the way & you have to go with the flow. At least you are mindful and getting back on track. That will be me next weekend - birthday weekend no doubt involving cake.

whatifI · 21/09/2018 16:39

2 lb loss for me today Smile

Hope you all had good losses this week

shazkiwi · 21/09/2018 17:14

Well done whatifI. I had a 3 ½ lb loss this week. I have come down with a bit of a virus & have let that be an excuse to eat all sorts yesterday & today, so I need to try & get that under control somehow. Good luck to everyone else.

whatifI · 21/09/2018 19:47

Well done Shazkiwi, good loss!
Hope you feel better soon and treat yourself to a bit of what you fancy 🍫🍷

PerditaNitt · 21/09/2018 20:09

Fantastic losses Shaz and What! I didn’t do as well, unfortunately - only a half lb loss this week. That said I went outside the eating windows early in the week and nailed half a Victoria sponge Shock, so I’m pleased that I still managed a small loss!

You have both inspired me to get back on track! I’m determined to get to 11.5 by end of next week (2 lbs down).
