Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:

Are you folks finding that you need to eat a lot more salt than usual? I don't usually eat much salt, but these last few weeks, all I can think of is "what nice salty thing shall I eat next?"

Cagliostro · 30/07/2018 15:21

I do, it's important for POTS. I unfortunately don't tend to crave it though so I often forget.

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/07/2018 15:25

I know what you mean. Normally I can overdo the salt really easily so I am very careful. At the moment, between the heat and this bug I seem to need a lot of salt, and I have been really enjoying the taste of the salt. Yum.

Good to hear that so many people are starting to change their lifestyle to get fit!

I decided to change my lifestyle back in January to get into shape and I'm still going strong!

I found that starting slow helped me.

I found out more here, hope this helps: Smile

LOL! I'm changing my lifestyle to move more slowly and less often. A friend on MN told me about "pacing" and it really helps me. Ordinarily I'm like a hamster on speed and slowing down really helps. :-)

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/07/2018 20:24

Not feeling great this evening, not sure if it was leaving it too long to eat or is after being on holidays or what.

I'm going to go over my calories today just to fill the gnawing hunger I feel but it can't be helped.

I've really paced myself this year too sunny it was a case of my health has made sure I've no choice and actually there's my answer, last week was all go, and no pacing/rest evenings or days so this is the result.

Cutting back to my 10000 step average and will plan out tomorrow's food before bed

Mammy That's just what I find. As soon as I start buzzing about the place I crash. It was CremeEggThief that explained it to me and she's absolutely spot on. I reckon that's one of the hardest things about being a Mum. There's always something to do and no standard break times. I find it very easy to just run myself into the ground.

I hope you feel better soon. I find that one day of just completely stopping helps me massively. This last year I've been having Mondays and Thursdays largely off, and that really helps for the rest of the week. Take care there. x

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/07/2018 21:21

Subconsciously I used to pace myself in college, always went to bed earlier on a Wednesday night, mainly because there wasn't much on tv, we only had 3 channels then Grin

I knew it was creme alright.

Tonight I'm still on the go, and will be for another 45 mins but tomorrow evening I will chill & get an early night.

The fish burgers were a hit Mammy.

Keep pacing, defo. As you say to me a controlled increase of calories is better than a binge.

SunnyLikeThursday · 30/07/2018 22:15

That's good thinking about the scheduled early night Mammy. I hadn't thought of that. I've always been one to run too fast. When I lived alone I used to get up at 7am on Saturdays and then arrive in town while everything was still shut. I was always worn out by 11am.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 31/07/2018 06:16

I had a fish burger last night too life they're fabulous!

First morning back to work, alarm went off 35 mins ago, so far I've been to loo, weighed, washed my face, put in contacts and gone back under the covers #notpacingprocrastination Grin

7lb of holiday weight gained. Not surprising really but it needs to bugger off now

mammynowanauntyIRL · 02/08/2018 16:18

A week to gain it wolf and probably a month to lose it Sad
I'm on course from probably 2lb gain from my holidays judging my weigh ins so far this week. We did walk a lot though, and drink a lot of water.

Yesterday I did well food wise and even managed to fit a small slice of cheesecake into my macros Grin

Today I'm having garlic prawns for dinner and I can't wait, if I wait until dc are in bed I'd get the whole pack to myself Shock

I’m pretty sure it’s alcohol that’s done it Mammy, I’ve walked every day in 33 degree minimum heat and drunk loads of water. I’ve eaten mostly fish, fruit and veg. But I’ve drunk a lot more alcohol than normal and I’ve had cake/I’ve cream on a few occasions but hols are there to be enjoyed so steady away I shall lose it again with all of your help and encouragement Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/08/2018 20:01

Everything went out the window yesterday with travel. Hit protein but that was it.
Today is better and exceeded fibre too.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 03/08/2018 07:45

wolf there's zero point in being miserable while on holidays for sure!

I ate ice cream almost every day while on holiday which I might only have once a month at home. Off we go on our merry way again getting slimmer.

life you did what you could under the circumstances and protein is the most important one to hit.

I increased my fibre goal to 35g before I went away, I've averaged 33.5 for 4 days including today and hit protein all of those days too. Steps/weights next week Grin

How's everyone doing?
Facing into bank holiday weekend here.
And had a crazy week workwise so decided to make today an easy food day.
Breakfast poached egg on bagel
Snack bag of popcorn & an orange
Lunch southern fried fish burger with salad in a whole meal slimbo & 2 plums
Dinner Aldi slimwell chicken saag with steamfresh veg
Evening snack - carb killa fudge brownie protein bar

What's the plan for weekend guys?

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 03/08/2018 22:22

Sick as a small hospital- self induced I’m
afraid 🍷 That now means I’m well & truly off the sauce for the weekend! I didn’t even break 600 steps today. I did go over my calories but not too badly. So yeah I’ll be walking the legs off myself & eating perfectly on plan - but for now I need sleep. This day cannot end soon enough🤢

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/08/2018 07:11

Mixed day. Wasn't keen on the slim well sweet potato curry. Too spicy for me so I had their almond chocolate which is mega calories.
Didn't mfp yesterday but ate as per plan.
Bad day work wise and have been feeling very anxious this week.
Shopping and beach today so will be steppy and will build my day around chips

mammynowanauntyIRL · 04/08/2018 08:21

Love the Almond Chocolate but tend not to buy it because I could eat the whole big bar in one sitting.

I'm working this am so actually eating my malted wheats and all bran planned for Tues snack now, have a passionfruit and a strawberry actimel mixed in instead of milk.

Must check out sweet potato curry, do you like spicy foods generally life?

I'm going to cinema tonight so going to mfp my snacks for that soon before I plan anything else. I've half a salmon fillet cooked to use up so that'll help with protein too.

not2 hope you're feeling better today, 600 steps is only trips to bathroom really isn't Wink

Think this is the first time I've ever looked forward to post holiday weigh in Grin

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 04/08/2018 08:24

not a fan of spicy food, no. it upsets my tummy

Not2bObvious · 04/08/2018 12:19

Oh much better mammy, yep bed to bathroom, to couch, that was about it. As I normally do a minimum of 15,000 it was rather a drop, caused much confusion amongst my Fitbit friends - they probably thought I died!(without being flippant I really wanted to, poisoned I was)
Back on track today, over 10,000 done by 11am. Aching though from my poisoning - that’s me off the booze for the rest of the weekend
