Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

@thistimenextsummer a food diary is a good place to start. What are the options available for breakfast & lunch?

OP posts:
thistimenextsummer · 27/10/2018 07:00

Thanks mammy, good idea. Is it ok to track here?

So at work it's cereal or toast for breakfast and unlimited fruit (apples, bananas, pears rather than anything more exotic). I usually have shreddies but find it very hard to stick to 30g portion!

There's always a jacket potato option and the other lunches are standard school dinner. Fairly healthy but also carb heavy. For example it might be fishcakes, with potato wedges and green beans. I know I should ask for extra green beans in place of the wedges but I'm ravenous by lunch time!! (And fund it hard to resist pudding!)

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/10/2018 07:12

Of course -we've become complacent posting here so that would be a big help.
I was on the road at 6am this morning, filled a litre of water for my journey & had two poached eggs on a piece of rye roast before getting on the road.

Fairly good options there for breakfast so, would you consider increasing your portion of shreddies with fruit to avoid being ravenous eat lunch? Or could you take some fruit as a snack for mid morning or would you not get a chance to eat it?

That’s great to have breakfast & lunch covered this, but since you don’t track calories or weight it’s tricky to gauge losing. Portion control would be good, and I guess you can go by how your clothes fit? Eating a bit less and moving a bit more consistently will help. Bit vague sounding I know but second mammys suggestion of maybe more are breakfast - 45gr of shreddies as 30gr is very little, definitely pears & apples are great for fibre but low enough in calories. The pure effort of them, too easy to wolf a couple of bananas.
Good move on the eggs & rye bread before you set out mammy, good macros and good to keep you going.
I had an alcohol free Friday which in turn meant I stuck to my cals. My excess cals are catching up with me, my average loss so far this week is .1 of a pound. And I’d say I might have a flux tomorrow that’ll put paid to that! It’ll be a minor gain or maintain. Oh well:
‘Don't complain about the results you didn't get from the work you didn't do’

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/10/2018 20:22

I like that quote hadn't seen it before.
Rest of my day included a nature valley granola bar, soda water & lime, soup & 1/2 brown tuna sandwich, petit fours style dessert at 3pm and then just now Cajun chicken melt on a bap with salad & I ate 10 of the chips that came with it & gave rest to my father quickly Grin

All in all good for a day that included 350
Miles of driving

Yesterday was not great but I'm still going to log and just remind myself I'm on holiday!
B: 1 slice toast with hummous, handful of grapes, bucket of tea!
L: crab sandwich and shared portion of chips
D: salmon, salad and boiled new potatoes
So far so good but in addition to this two sausages pinched from the kids tea and far too much wine and crisps whilst watching strictly!

Not2bObvious · 28/10/2018 07:16

That’s a good day mamy, lot of driving. Great restraint with the chips, I’ve become a terrible passer on of food, my duh benefits greatly from those get it off my plate momemts😬
My average is now down to 161.4, so a loss of .3 from last week. I’ll take it gladly with both hands. Must do better next week and stop make excuses - only fooling myself. Drank wayyyy too much last night as had company but didn’t lose the plot with crisps, had some but a reasonable amount. Trying to figure out if I got away with it or is there a stinking great headache brewing. Can blooming sleep arg!

Not2bObvious · 28/10/2018 07:18

dh not duh!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 28/10/2018 08:26

It's a step in right direction anyhow.
After that i had 3 more soda waters & lime and 1 rich tea biscuit.

I was hungry after leaving pub, but knew it was false hunger so I just went to bed.
Haven't weighed yet this morning still in bed.

Not2bObvious · 28/10/2018 14:14

That’s a great loss mammy, well done

mammynowanauntyIRL · 28/10/2018 15:33

It's only losing the gain of the previous week but it feels good to be back at my lowest since December again.

I've got a wedding at end of Dec & determined to be at very most my current weight but ideally lots lighter.

Going to get my meal planning on track now today & do my shopping accordingly tomo.

Simply hitting my macros & 10000 steps daily this week & can improve on that week on week

thistimenextsummer · 28/10/2018 16:21

Well done mammy 🏅!

I'm not counting today Blush ...tomorrow seems like a good day to weigh in!!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 28/10/2018 17:34

@thistimenextsummer don't write off the whole day there's a few hours left that you can get right.

I bought new jeans on fri night - size 12 wouldn't close on me, size 14 had loads of room to spare. They were in Dunnes stores. Brought 4 pairs of size 12s into changing room & found one that fit comfortably- perhaps it's a size 13 Wink

Going to head back in next couple of weeks to buy them in indigo blue too as they fit lovely Grin

Today's food -
Country store & almond milk for breakfast.
I love country store but don't buy it for my own house, I allow myself a bowl per visit at my parents house Smile

Half a Lidl protein bar that I found in my car, they're horrible supposed to be almond & double choc flavour Hmm

Veg soup
Roast turkey carrots & broccoli out with my df

Bag of proper corn
Can of diet thunder
Dinner will be muscle food bbq chicken

Dessert will be a boost bar with dc & soda water & lime in a pretty glass.

Haven't input my weekends food in mfp at all nothing was weighed so I just made good choices

OP posts:
thistimenextsummer · 29/10/2018 11:46

Ok so I weighed in this morning at 12st 11.5lbs (179.5lbs I think)

Better than I was thinking but I've started the day with a McDs breakfast as I was super unorganised and had a really early appointment. But I haven't had any snacks and I'm still full so won't have lunch until much later. I've also got some chicken breast out defrosting and we've got a fair bit of salad/veg so can hopefully aim for a healthy dinner

mammynowanauntyIRL · 29/10/2018 14:23

Thistime hopefully that's the last time you'll see that number.

I had Burger King meal 1083 calories I think, it's midterm treat for dc & very rare I enjoyed it but bacon was extremely salty so I'll have no problem hitting my 3.2 litres of water today Grin

OP posts:
mammynowanauntyIRL · 29/10/2018 14:24

Last night I cut my boost bar into ten pieces to make it last longer Grin

OP posts:
thistimenextsummer · 30/10/2018 18:51

Thank you mammy, that's s good way to look at it.

I've got a stinking cold today (always happens in the holidays Sad) and I'm finding it hard to be motivated when all I want to do is lie on the sofa eating chocolate biscuits.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/10/2018 20:25

@thistimenextsummer it's definitely way tougher when you're under the weather.
I've a lot of water to catch up on this evening - was so cold at work today so couldn't face it

99c in Lidl 9g protein 5.1g fibre & only 99calories. Best of all it tasted very similar to a Milky Way Grin

Just spotted this thread as a Credit Crunch Frugaleer. Thanks Mammy for the Lidl recommendation. I like hi protein bars when I am on the go, but they are pricey. Needing to find a cheaper way to “9se weight, so re-started my very dormant MFP, have ordered a Misfit (£32) to replace my crocked Fitbit. Today have had, porridge, black coffee, Slimasoup, &2rice cakes with peanut butter. Dinner is pulled pork, 1tomato & 30g mozzarella. Caprese, but skipping the olive oil. Pudding will be a vodka plus slim line tonic & 90 cal pop chips. Hopefully this will keep me under 1200 cals- we shall see. Not a lot of exercise today - Pilates class. Weather permitting I shall take a long walk tomorrow or do an hour os so of leaf-raking in the garden

thistimenextsummer · 01/11/2018 07:36

Hello moanranger! Wow, you sound very organised!
I'm super motivated for 1st November!

I'm going to do 'No drink November'
I've restarted tracking food and drink in my WW app
I've booked gym classes for next week - Monday running, Thursday aerobics and Saturday kettlebells

I'm 12st 12lbs this morning. Would love to lose 7lbs by Christmas (so around 1lb a week)

thistimenextsummer · 01/11/2018 13:27

🤦‍♂️ went to Costa. Had a black coffee to save on calories but thought I'd have an innocent looking bakewell slice - 19 WW points!!! (The daily aim is 23)
