Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

Use mfp on your new phone cag Grin

:o I have used it before but it doesn’t work for me :( I get too panicky about putting the right amounts down, fine for packaged foods but for cooking from scratch I have to guess and then spend far too long worrying I’ve got it wrong. Mentally I’m not in a good place right now so could do without that kind of anxiety. So just going to write it down on the notes app.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/09/2018 09:04

Good call cag
Writing it down is a leap in the right direction, even that can be enough to steer us in the right direction

How do you reset the mfp, garmin and Fitbit apps.? Tried online but the instructions aren't working. Might log onto the computer

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/09/2018 20:12

Not sure life
I ate half a cupcake because my powcow ice cream was almost gone so had to adjust quantities. He was super proud of them.

They are lovely Mammy

Cagliostro · 01/09/2018 20:52

Aww they are fab!

I had some cake today that DD brought back from a sleepover, but they were frankly kinda crappy so I had one bite (of each of two flavours... had to make sure) and then - big step for me lately - didn’t eat the rest. I really need to get back to only having treat stuff if it is actually nice!

We then went to an outdoor party event thing, there wasn’t much food. Really pleased with myself as on the way home we walked from town, and I just picked up a couple of ingredients for an easy dinner rather than stopping at McDonald’s or getting individual ready meals. So pleased from a frugal and health PoV there.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/09/2018 21:40

He was really chuffed with them & surprisingly didn't overload them with sprinkles!

I walked on a lane way today, filled with ripe blackberries, I may need to return tomo with a tub of some sort Wink

Really well done cag I know that's a big step, been there

Cagliostro · 01/09/2018 22:33

Thanks :) I was doing so well with it but have really struggled most of the time since Cagletini arrived. I dunno, mild PND really. Just trying to make one decent decision at a time.

More batch cooking tomorrow.

Progress is progress however small!
Everything tracked, two days over calories by a lot, but doing well on protein fibre & water.
Overwhelming tired at the moment, was in bed at 9pm last night and only getting up now. Awake 1.5 hours at 4am. It's my mind in overdrive.

Aiming for a good day today too, want to get back under 168lbs next week

Well done mammy! My average is up by 1.5, ugg. Must get my act together, bad dose of self sabotage & comfort eating. Couple that with 3 nights out in a week and it was inevitable.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 02/09/2018 14:26

Not2 is it because of consistently higher weighings or post night out bloat?

I've noticed that because I eat differently at weekends compared to during the week that Mondays trend as high and I spend the rest of the week bringing down the average. I'm attempting to change that & trying to make weekends more routine.

Not2bObvious · 02/09/2018 15:32

Higher weigh in’s, weight not dropping during the week much coupled with nightbout bloat. I know myself by my clothes, skinny jeans don’t take no prisoners! Bulging is the best description. I feel better in control of food today but I’m finding it very hard to get out to get my steps. I’ll go out in a bit to try get a few thousand. Just a slump, first one in a while

Nice one mammy.

I wonder if I should be in the 1500 when I rejoin as in hovering at 130.5 ish average.
Might give it a go for a few weeks. Not much fat to lose but a bit.
Will go back to body pump min X 3 but aim for 4. Per week.

The only thing is with walking to get my steps my cardio fitness is now shite. Might have to work on that too, some how, later

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/09/2018 21:12

Started again today. Steps got. Took my kit to work but hip hurting so didn't gym it.
Good was doing great until dh didn't make tea. Had chocolate for eleventy billion calories

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/09/2018 06:41

Aargh lifelong and your day was going so well Grin

I'm an all or nothing person with chocolate, so I'm on nothing at the moment because I'm afraid of a binge. My uncles wife offered me two finger kitkat on Sunday & I knew I had the calories but I was hungry and going to be doing my shopping afterwards in Aldi & know I'd have bought one of their big fruit & nut bars so I declined.

Yesterday was a snacky kind of day but hit my protein and 29g fibre and was within calories so it's grand. Having turkey mince for lunch helped I think. Also I got one of those snack packs of chicken in Aldi & one of the nuts/beans/corn snack packs so good choices Halo
I've a hen party at the weekend so need to keep my focus strong this week.

1200g blackberries to incorporate into my mfp this week too Grin

New low weight on scales this morning so I'm happy that I've made good choices now.

Rather alarmed last night when I saw catgetsfitnfab/mumreloaded started her journey same time as me at 171lbs and is now in the 130s. I started at 171.5 and scales was 166 this morning Shock but it's not a race with anyone else & I know exactly why too.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 05/09/2018 07:49

Isn’t Cat looking amazing mammy? I have the same woe, started April 2017 just shy of 170, this morning 161, lowest weight in 1.5 years was 152 and that was for 1 day. I just lack the consistency but I’m trying not to get bogged down in that. Otherwise I start thinking what’s the point. Hurt my back so my steps are gone to shit. Will need to get tighter on my food and avoid comfort eating.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/09/2018 09:10

She looks great not2 and because she's Irish and a single mother I feel a connection to her and that if she can do it so can I! She's got a long commute but I work longer hours with short commute so we've got a similar amount of free time.

In the 5 years since I had ds the party weight I recorded was probably 150lbs, wouldn't I love to be there now!
I've had menstrual issues, home life struggles and bad cases of flu, still suffering from last January's bout now but once it's moving down I'm ok with that.

Had a great spell with team Rh last year & I hope that the same is happening now.
Aiming for 70000 steps per week because I seem to burn out doing more.

Is your back an ongoing issue?
I'm reasonably ok with food, it's activity that lets me down

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 05/09/2018 09:59

I love seeing someone Irish on it too mammy, like the connection (and she has access to the same shops so no Asda envy!)
Sadly yes the back is ongoing although the last while it changed from all round pain to sciatica. I’ve left my gym which I loved and now only walk/jog - can barely walk right now. I’m rubbish at the food, usually great at the steps. Sigh....
