Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

Hiya north. I have only got under 16st myself last year, lightest I have been since having DS who is nearly 9. Completely stalled this year though.

Thanks for the kind thoughts Thanks I am quite embarrassed we let it get this bad. I'm glad DH has witnessed the fallout as he is more likely than me to buy them sweets etc and in particular sugary drinks. It is all just so cheap and available, we need to learn to resist! I found it so easy when I had GD but not since!

I never really baked as a kid either so it is very new to me, I could mess up those ready made kits I am so rubbish! But I would love to get to the stage where when we are having a picnic or having friends round we say "what shall we cook" rather than "what shall we buy".

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/08/2018 11:52

Cag why not borrow a kids cookbook from library & learn together? It can be part of home ed.

I'm up 1.8lbs since last Sunday, I ate out 3 times & had pizza in this time, it's not a surprise, back on it today though Smile

Cag the kid's cookbook idea is a good one I think. There are plenty of recipes for biscuits and muffins where no special techniques are needed, good to start with!

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/08/2018 12:50

Cag, get Delia how to cook book from the library and Mary berry complete cookery course is also good.
MB is my default for cakes and baking and they have all worked.
Good food website had a kids cooking section too.

Update on my experiment in increasing my cals, I’ve lost 2.5lb from my average weight😬
Of course I’ve now had 2 x holiday evenings out so maybe next week I’ll see the fruits of that but I have to say increasing from
1700 cals to 1800 is looking good. I’ll give it a better go this week as I’ve only 1 night out to deal with.
Gosh cag you’ve a lot to deal with. Your poor dd, I’m terribly addicted to sweet stuff, and I’m a grown up who can get disportionatly upset if my chocolate supply is depleted, must be very hard for her & you guys dealing with it. Great idea to bake, it’s a lovely together activity and will tick lots of boxes. Wishing you lots of luck with it.
Very welcome northender, I remember watching the Diet Doctor program years ago, it’s Ian something yes? Very good premise - best of luck, your food so far sounds lovely!

Not2bObvious · 19/08/2018 18:08

I meant Food Doctor, not Diet Doctor - sorry

Cagliostro · 19/08/2018 18:16

Great loss not2 :)

Thanks I will definitely look at the library. I am decent at regular cooking although want to increase my repertoire (as much as one can with fussy DS). But baking I am worse than useless so will start from scratch.

northender · 19/08/2018 21:00

Well done on the weight loss Not. Yes it is Ian Marber.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/08/2018 18:49

I want chocolate, going for a long walk on beach hoping the urge goes away!

OP posts:
mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/08/2018 19:47

Walked Out & ran back not going to ruin that by eating chocolate, can get some tomorrow if I'm still feeling cravings

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 20/08/2018 22:43

I struggle with the urge for chocolate too mammy, sometimes I can have it & make it fit. Other times it’s like a gateway drug and I eat everything in sight! Well done on your walk & run, well jel you’ve access to a beach. I suppose I could too, just have to drive a few miles

mammynowanauntyIRL · 21/08/2018 05:50

I don't go to beach often enough at all, I'm going to attempt to do this more often. Choc cravings were bastard H related & pms related, despite me being on pill for first time in years, wonder does this mean I'll bleed twice this month as I've rest of this week of pack to take Hmm

OP posts:
mammynowanauntyIRL · 21/08/2018 05:51

I'm exact same with chocolate, I'm better off not having it

Wolfcub · 21/08/2018 06:42

Mammy hope you managed to resist. Walks in the beach sound like a good plan for some h free headspace

mammynowanauntyIRL · 21/08/2018 19:47

I did, I walked one direction & plodded home the way back.

Hit 11000 Sunday & Monday so aiming to keep this up.

Well done mammy, you sound proper determined. I really struggled today, I was starving all day. But I managed to stick to my cals, got my protein & fibre - went over actually. The scales has shot up yesterday but was down nearly 4lbs this morning, only 1lb off my lowest weight of last week. Anyway I need to plan my day better, today was tough & had the potential to go t*ts up.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 21/08/2018 21:36

I didn't hit protein or fibre today, no fage yogurt in for snacks and didn't have eggs for breakfast.
I didn't really enjoy my breakfast or 10am snack all that much either.

Stayed within cals & got my water too.
Scales went up last week for me & starting to come down again too.

Walked dog this evening & stepped while watching emmerdale, torn between tidying my room, sleep & hitting 1100 more steps now

14 8, slowly getting back to my preholiday weight

Not2bObvious · 24/08/2018 21:43

That’s good wolf, I thought I had my holiday weight wiped out but then I slipped back into holiday mode and regained it again. But, I’m getting back on track too. Having a pretty ok week so far, might get a pound down by Sunday.
How you getting on mammy?

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2018 13:12

Here is the swimming pool and 24 hours gym that I haven't been in all stay. Grin

Life good to know they're there though Grin

Not2 I'm good, bit better at steps this week & hoping for a loss this week. Foodwise I was hit & miss. This week was first time my H has taken responsibility for children and actually brought them away this weekend. I've never been home alone before since dd was born 8 years & we've lived here for ten years, I've been away lots without dc but this is new.

Ate out last night. Had 3 Bacardi & diet cokes & going out for cake soon Grin I walked 2 miles to collect my car, and walked 7k with my friend & have hit my 15k steps so no guilt today!

It wasn't as good as when tea rooms first opened a few years ago.

Having slimwell tikka masala for dinner

That cake looks yummy Mammy. Ds and I have had Chinese takeaway to celebrate his return home. If school shoe shopping goes without an almighty row tomorrow there will be waffles and ice cream Blush
