Morning all

Just a question, was reading SW mag last night and there is a nice looking mushroom meal in there with polenta....anyone have this and if so, is it nice?? Never had it and curious.

Never had aubergine either, anyone recommend?

Need to start introducing some new green day meals as can get a bit bored with my favs....

Well done on losses!! Gains, the fact you're posting on here means it's just a blip and you can move on!! (coming from the girl who had the most lard filled week ever last week and hasn't weighed since!!)

fireflyfairy2 · 24/05/2007 13:22

MMJ, How about a nice cottage pie?

Quorn & potato & lots of veg??

I'm having a packet of super noodles [98% fat free] and 2 boiled eggs.

Dinner will be chocken stir-fry. Lots of veg, noodles, bean sprouts & water chestnuts.

Am determined to lose most of that 6lb this week.

Well Done everyone who has lost

Beth, yeehaa, it wasn't as bad as me

I'm in the corner alone this week

Nemo2007 · 24/05/2007 13:45

For tea tonight we are having stir fry with quorn pieces..am wondering how dh will take to the quorn pieces..lol

Have been shopping this morning and was actually happily buying food instead of feeling gutted I `couldnt have choccie etc..

fireflyfairy2 · 24/05/2007 14:46

Wellll... my dh & quorn do not mix

He calls it girly meat

Rooicosta · 24/05/2007 15:41

I'm having pasta for tea with a passata based sauce with onion, peppers, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, garlic and basil. Mmm, it is really yummy!

Fortunately, I like salads (had a big mixed bean salad for lunch) and so usually have meat salads for lunches on red days with loads of crabsticks. I'm not a massive meat eater so don't tend to do a lot of red days though, so I do a lot of mix2max days. Sorry I haven't got any good suggestions!

I tend to make bolognaise and cottage pie etc, with quorn mince so that I can have it on a green day. Does anyone else prefer green to red? Do you find you lose more weight on red than green?

mistressmiggins · 24/05/2007 16:03

I prefer green days definitely
not as hungry & have more choice

I use my healthy options to have a bit of meat or fish

fortunately I love rice & couscous & salad so find it easy

having said that, DS has been sent home from school poorly so Ive had to leave work & have just eaten an entire tube of smarties to cheer myself up
how many syns is that

Rooicosta · 24/05/2007 16:46

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but a tube of smarties are 9 syns! Never mind eh!
Just can't get my head round why you would need cheering up after leaving work early... most of us would jump at the chance he, he!

quadrophenia · 24/05/2007 16:57

am having a red day today, had chicken salad for lunch and am having a kiev (low fat) and salad for my dinner with a jacket potato as a healthy extra. i find red days quite handy but definately eat less on them, i love chicken though so that helps.

sarahhal · 24/05/2007 19:46

Oh bugger, 2 and a half on for me this week!! Not surprised as had a night out on on Sat with loads and loads to drink, and have just not been able to say no to the biscuits at work this week!!

Right. Really need to get back on track. Will have to really plan for this week to get going again!

fireflyfairy2 · 25/05/2007 00:27

Had not too bad a day today

Breakfast: Oat so simple [HEb] Milke [HEa]

Lunch: Supernoodles & 2 boiled eggs

Dinner: stir fry with chicken [HEb] carrots, onions, mushrooms, beansprouts, water chestnuts & a sauce dh makes at 4 syns.

fruit salad made from strawberries, melon, banana, orange & pear.

Syns for the day = 4

So not bad at all. Hopefully I can keep it up, but I feel hungry now so shall go to bed

Think I will have sw chips & mushy peas tomorrow!

Has anyone any good ideas of fish to go with it? I like the breadcrumbed fish, could I buy fresh fish & crumb it myself with wholemeal breadcrumbs???

mistressmiggins · 25/05/2007 08:11

I felt miserable leaving early for 2 reasons:-

  1. waste of 1/2 day holiday
  2. children off to seaside for the week with their dad & I will worry if DS is poorly

didnt have anything else bad & DS is muich better this morning

I made Janson potatoes last night which were delicious & free on green day - did it with asparagus & trout (healthy choice)

Rooicosta · 25/05/2007 10:39

Ooh MM, your dinner last night sounds lovely, I love trout! I'm glad to hear your DS is feeling much better now, I'm sure he'll be okay.

FFF2, yes you can coat your fish in breadcrumbs, just use the bread as an HEb choice. Sounds yum.

I'm having a green day today again, I've got my mixed bean salad for lunch and think I'm having pasta again for tea. AF has just arrived though and now I feel really bloated and rubbish, grrrrrr!

Oh well, it's bank holiday weekend so that's something to smile about at least!!

fireflyfairy2 · 25/05/2007 10:44

That's how I felt last week rooicosta. I had AF too & ate & ate & ate, like a bloody loon!!

Plus am potty training ds & afraid to leave the house, which is good, as I have nothing in the cupboards!!!

[have also managed to superglue my little finger to the one beside it, so am one fingr typing & soaking in nail polish remover

rhysmiamum · 25/05/2007 12:07

Hello!

Decided to have a chicken breast for tea with a JP but fancy a bit of a sauce with it.....any ideas something curryish maybe??

Cheers
rhysmiamum

fireflyfairy2 · 25/05/2007 12:16

What's a JP?

Curry paste is only a few syns per spoonful & a small spoonful makes a lot of sauce

rhysmiamum · 25/05/2007 12:30

Jacket Potatoe!!

Thanks for that, will get some curry paste at lunchtime.....

Rooicosta · 25/05/2007 13:34

Firefly, sorry to laugh but I really thought that was funny about your fingers, I can just picture it!!

I've got a syn free recipe for curry sauce somewhere and it's supposed to be gorgeous, haven't tried it yet though. I'll dig it out and let you know.

Just had my mixed bean salad (and coleslaw 3.5 syns) and an Alpen Light bar HEb. It was yummy.
