Can I jump in on this thread? I've been doing SW for around 6 weeks now and am doing fairly rubbish at it! Up to last week I had lost 8.5lbs but I know that has gone up this week. I'm due to weigh tonight but am [ this close ] to not going!

At the moment I am having IVF treatment so my body is all over the place. I am on dugs to stop hormones, drugs to replace hormones, pessaries for something else. I find sometimes I just neeeeed choccie, or popcorn, or pringles, or crisps...you get the idea ;)

Also, does anyone have a reliable pedometer. I bought one last week and it's a pile of poo. It counts more steps than I have taken, which makes it easy peasy to get to my 10,000 a day, but it's not really doing me any good. I did 30 steps this morning folding some washing apparently!

jay07 · 09/07/2007 12:35

Anyone know the Sin Value for Mullers new healthy balance tropical. It won't be zero i'm sure!

lunavix · 09/07/2007 12:45

fedda - well I've been doing it a while, lost over a stone at got to my 10% and nearly to target, but put it back on on holiday.

So now I'm sticking to it, hence the lost so far.

I'm eating a mix of stuff for breakfast, usually either a mullerlight or two, or bananas. Sometimes a fry up if I'm on a red day. Or something raisin wheats and milk (I hate this though as it's two HEs!)
The best breakfast is one out of a SW book - 28g honey nut shredded wheat, a toffee mullerlight, and one or two bananas. Like a banoffee crunch thing Best of all it's just one HE and hideously filling.

Then for lunch I either have batchelors pasta n sauce on a green day, or ham salad on red - I have a huge bowl of iceberg lettuce, tons of cherry toms, then lots of ham and salad cream (the extra light salad cream is around 1 syn a tbsp I think, and I have 2 and it's plenty) could also have that on green I spose and use the ham as a HE. If I'm feeling terribly lazy I have a mug shot on green, or have them as snacks later on.

I meal plan my dinners for the week. I try to fit in two reds, and the rest green as I prefer green. Do my food shopping online so I don't forget anything or buy crap. I don't buy treats with the shopping - eg I used to buy a 5 pack of galaxy rippes (8.5 syns each) for one each day, but if I had a bad day I'd eat the lot. Instead I eat good at home, and then I have the syns extra, so if I pop out I can have a ripple then.

I eat lots of fruit. Have loads of nice apples near by, another nice treat is raspberries and yoghurt. I prefer yeo valley fat free vanilla with my raspberries, think it's 2 syns for a huge pot, I use half. If I buy melon or pineapple I tend to buy it already prepared else I buy it with good intentions and watch it rot. Other good snacks are alpen light bars (2 for a HE) and babybels (2 for a HE or 3 light ones)

I eat a lot of the same during the day, then cook different meals each week. Loads of good stuff.

Oh and I'm living off SW sorbet at the moment! It's I think 1 syn for the whole thing and even I can't manage it lol.

sarahtibs · 09/07/2007 15:50

What's the SW sorbet? It sounds delish. Anything that keeps me away from the choccie is welcome here!

IndigoMoon · 09/07/2007 16:12

i try and do the yoghurt fruit thing for breakfast so its all free but sometimes i just dont fancy it so have weetabix. but i make it with hot water and have a dribble of milk. its still nice and i have a banana with it. then its still only 1 he.

at the moment i keep buiying hifi bars and tbh they are a waste of a he. i am not buying any this week. but then they are nice and they are handy if i just dont have time to eat properly bu then i find myself eating them thinking oh its ok its a he and then struggling come dinner time to make a decent meal. so then i end up synning it and losing 6 syns

lechuga · 09/07/2007 18:21

zookeeper,

that Asda chickpea dahl is still free on green even though it's values have changed slightly. am off to crack open a can for a very lazy tea!

no email since saturday evening saying you weren't happy with my offer UnChief. Sorry to hear your son hasn't been well, I assumed you were just ignoring me. Hope he is better soon. My son has kidney disease and is in and out of hospital too so I know how a day or two feels like a lifetime.

lunavix, thank you very much for you reply. I've stopped looking at this thread as one of the members correctly pointed out that it's only for SW but I'm so glad you've answered to my question. I'm interested in SW and I think it's a very good idea and good luck to everybody who is trying it. I wish I had your will power. lunavix, I hope you'll achieve what you want as you have a kind heart.

zookeeper · 10/07/2007 09:06

thanks for checking about the dahl lechuga

wizzywig · 10/07/2007 20:35

sarahtibs - i hope you dont mind me asking but does the ivf process stop you losing weight? my hormones are also all over the place and i'll be starting clomid soon and i dont know whether this'll stop my weight loss. also GOOD LUCK with the ivf, fingers crossed you get good news xx

kid · 10/07/2007 23:14

I've been doing SW for 3 weeks at home now. Manged to lose 6lb in that time. Been following this thread for support and thought I would post at last.

I made that canelloni recipe tonight, it was really nice. I will be having it again tomorrow night as I made extra!

weezy292004 · 11/07/2007 05:16

hi all started back on slimming world monday and i'm not able to get to meetings so thought i would join you.
i've got quite alot to lose but just thinking more about the healthy eating and exercise part and not how much i want to lose at the moment...my problem is
A) i Hate salad ..i can force down lettuce with a fat free dressing if i must.
B)i don't get home from work untill 7.30/8pm so don't want to spend hours cooking or i don't end up eating untill 10pm :0(
C)i have a very sweet tooth and apart from sf jelly, fruit salad or muller light would like something diffrent to try with least amout of syns poss.

any suggestions would be a great help and good luck to everyone on your weightloss.

kid · 11/07/2007 07:06

I've been eating the lemon cheesecake mullerlight. They are very sweet and put a stop to any sweet craving.
I have also had the odd curly wurly as they are quite low in syns due to the fact there isn't much chocolate on them!

Its probably better to think about the healthy side of it rather than the weight. It might help you stick to it even when the loss isn't that great. Thats the problem I am having, I get disheartened when I don't have a good loss one week.

lumpychump · 11/07/2007 16:31

Hi all

I joined a slimming world group on monday and so far doing OK!!

A friend mentioned the website, which I have looked at but in order to get into it you need a group password, does anybody know what this is please?

Going to peel potatoes now to make some syn free chips - yum!

Thanks everyone....

daisybo · 11/07/2007 17:25

weezy, try to make sure you have stuff in that's easy and quick to cook for dinner, i am always short on time, so make something like a vege chilli on sat and then freeze it in pots to have on jacket potato or with rice, one evening in the week. i do this with spaghetti bolognase sauce as well - then dinner only takes ten minutes! cous cous or bulgar wheat are also good when you're in a rush.
for sweet things try strawbwrries and raspberries, or i think alpen light bars (which are sweet and yummy) can count as a healthy extra - but i would get someone more knowledgeable than than me to check for you
or do what i do and save 5 syns for a mini bag of maltersers when the kids have gone to bed! lol!

daisybo · 11/07/2007 17:27

welcome lumpychump
SW chips are yummy, and they are also good with a bit of mild chili powder and some cumin seeds sprinkled on to spice them up a bit. good luck with your weight loss

andyrobo237 · 11/07/2007 20:29

DaisbyBo - yes Alpen Light bars are a H.E - apparently you can have two. Also the Ryvita Minis are a H.E.

I lost 3lbs this week - making 4.5 in total - so hoping to get my half stone next week - been all over with the baby in the pram -2 hours today!!!

Going to plan the rest of the week today - so I can buy the right stuff! Swimming tomorrow, walk on Friday and Saturday and a 5k Race for Life (but walking!!!) on Sunday - may have the day off Monday - if I dont lose 2.5lbs - there is nothing else I can do!!

wizzywig · 11/07/2007 20:59

hi all, password this week is chicken. good luck this week everyone!!

weezy292004 · 11/07/2007 22:39

lunavix · 12/07/2007 08:27

SW sorbet is a 500g pot of frozen summer fruits, 2 vanilla mullerlights and 2 flat umm either umm either tsp or tbsp of icing sugar (will check) it's out of this world.

I LOVE the cannelloni recipe on the website it's so scrummy.

lunavix · 12/07/2007 08:28

oh and SW tortilla chips...

RoundTheBend · 12/07/2007 08:56

Hello All . I was weighed on Tuesday night and had lost the 1/2lb I gained last week. That meant for 3 weeks I virtually went nowhere with my weightloss. My Consultant has put me on the "Fast Forward" for a week, so I will let you know how it goes. Looks very strict! Only just starting it this morning as she had to talk me through it first before she allowed me to start. I desperately want to lose another 7lbs in 4 weeks, just so I can fit into my bikini on holiday!
