Bread's soooo hard to resist isn't it. I'm going to menu plan a bit better for the next few days, hoping that will keep me on track. I've ordered some of the SW books from the website too

well done mandaxmx, my club doesn't do slimmer of the month. It is strange how the clubs can differ so much.

quadrophenia · 06/06/2007 11:35

I lost 1.5 this week again, so thats 12 lbs in four weeks, am soooo pleased.

Loobyloo22 · 06/06/2007 13:53

Hello all, New to the site but have been doing slimming world for a couple of weeks now. Did it before and lost 2 stone for my wedding... 2 babies later and I am back.

My tips from last time which I am doing again now. At the start of every week, make up a big tupperware with fresh fruit, pineapple, kiwis, strawberries, grapes etc squeeze lime juice over it -= keeps it fresher, longer. Bulk it up every day with fresh sliced apples and bananas. The other thing is to make up a big tupperware of marinara sauce each week. You can add a bit of stick to it and heat it up for a lovely soup. use it as tomato sauce for pasta or cottage pie etc you can even add it to plain rice as a really nice stir-fry paella type thing. last night I added chillis and curry powder and added the sauce to pre-boiled then fried (fry-light) potatoes with onions for a fab bombay potato recipe (a proper curry with tonnes of rice) Yum!

Marinara sauce:

3lb Tomatoes, large and ripe
1 tin tomatoes
garlic
courgettes
mushrooms
1 oxo stock cube
grate carrots (in fact any vegetable you fancy really)
herbs
worcestershire sauce

slice tomatoes in half, put on baking tray in oven with some whole, unpeeled garlic cloves, spray with fry-lite and bake for about an hour. fry-lite fry all other veg, add stock and roasted tomatoes, whiz it in a blender - season with herbs, salt and pepper to taste. If you wanted to have a couple more sins in it you could add tomatoe puree and olive oil but it is yummy anyway and will last a week in the fridge.

Great recipe thats full of speed food and free on a green day

Quorn Chilli

Chop 2 onions and fry in fry light, add quorn mince and chilli powder, cumin, coriander, paprika and cayenne pepper (as hot or not as you like) add 2 tins tomatoes and 1/2 pint of bovril stock. Just leave to simmer for around 1/2 hour. then add 2 tins of baked beans and a tin of lentils heat through and ready to serve.

Really really tasty. Serve with rice, bake in oven with pasta for pasta bake, on Jackets, toast, wedges and absolutely free.

(I make the above in a stock pot every few weeks and freeze it, if you don't want as much just reduce quantities of ingrediants)

CayKon · 06/06/2007 14:24

For afters on a green day

put a tin of drained chickpeas, 1 1/2 cups canderal, tsp baking powder, 3 eggs some lemon juice and tbsp lemon curd in a food processor and blitz. put in a baking tin sprayed with fry light and bake in the oven for about 20 - 30 mins.

Makes a lemon cake the whole cake is 2.5syns

Nemo2007 · 06/06/2007 14:44

really struggling today have eaten not a lot apart from 3 jaffa cakes and a couple of goes in the DC choc dips..eek weigh in tonight aswell

Rooicosta · 06/06/2007 16:38

Nemo, make sure you're eating enough as you're more likely to reach for the convenient 'naughties' if not. Preparation is the key.

You're also less likely to lose weight if you don't eat enough as your body thinks it's starving so holds onto the fat instead of letting it go.

Lovely recipes emerging on here!

fireflyfairy2 · 06/06/2007 16:55

Good Luck Nemo!! I'll be off in an hour to my WI.. think I'll go to the early class tonight, I'm to hungry to last til the 7pm class!

Did you get the 100 Green recipes or anything? I love that book

Or did you get the brown one that lists all the HE's?

Hi ladies, hope you dont mind me joining in (again), keep failing to keep motivated but this time I'm more positive and focused plus my DH is doing the plan with me which really really helps.

I have done sw before and found it really easy and lost 2 stone.

Am now over 16 stone and am unhappy with my body and flab. I dont mnd being a big girl but want to be at least 4 stone lighter and get toned up.

Have got 8 weeks to lose as much as possible for my holiday in Portugal with my dh and ds. My slim sister, slim friend and their bf's are coming too. Dreading the thought of looking and feeling hideous in a bikini.

Well done to all the losses x
