Hi Koko you can do it. Glitterball

twinkledag · 12/06/2018 21:40

I'm rejoining after another failed IVF.

I'll try and post daily from tomorrow. Thanks

HappyGowerGirl · 12/06/2018 21:44

Ah fucking hell Twinkle that’s hard. Be kind to yourself x

twinkledag · 12/06/2018 21:55

Thank you @HappyGowerGirl. Been a shit first 6 months to the year Sad

FizzingWhizzbee · 12/06/2018 22:15

Oh Twinkle - that's awful. IVF is so tough. I speak from experience. Sending hugs and Thanks

I have no idea where my motivation has suddenly disappeared to. I was doing brilliantly last week and suddenly - poof! It's gone. All I can think is that it is stress related - always my Achilles heel.

I managed 16:8 today, but ate crap during the 8 hours. So we'll see what tomorrow brings.

twinkledag · 12/06/2018 22:25

-@FizzingWhizzbee - would you mind sharing your experience? Were you successful? X

Hoolahoophop · 12/06/2018 22:29

Flowers Twinkle so sorry.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 12/06/2018 22:31

Hello all. Just popping up before I fall off the thread altogether.

Twinkle Flowers so sorry to hear that. How awful. Be kind to yourself.

Well done to all those still plugging away at it.

Nothing to report here. Still around 10 10. At least I'm not regaining so I am happy with that Smile

FizzingWhizzbee · 13/06/2018 07:22

Twinkle yes, fortunately for me and DH, we were. Our infertility is male factor (DH low sperm count, almost low enough to be considered zero, medically speaking). I, as far as we know, have no issues apart from my age - which wasn't an problem when we cycled but would be now.

I was on another, fertility specific forum at the time and cycled with 9 other women who all needed ICSI due to male factor. 5 of us were successful, 5 were not. It's such a bitterly random thing. I saw how devastating it was for the unlucky ones and talked to them at length. I can't tell you how gutted I am for you having had some insight into what it is like.

I put on 10lb during treatment alone, and I hated it. It was so hard, both mentally and physically. It's one of the many reasons DD is and will remain an only child.

Thanks

Whoever mentioned lemon drizzle cake upthread.... That is my absolute favourite dessert, now I want some! Blush

Quim I guess I'm relatively fit, I've often done running (done a 10k and a half-marathon) but I do have to work it at regularly. I'm naturally a lazy person and love just lying around chilling out, more passive stuff like reading and painting, so I have to push myself to exercise and keep in shape!

Twinkle so sorry to hear your news Flowers and sugar-free, super-healthy, weight-loss suitable Cake

Koko and Hoola well done on your losses! And to those who are STS too!

I'm not going to weigh this week as it's TOM so I'll just skip and weigh in next Friday when I'm hoping to see another Linda or two gone Smile

CiderwithBuda · 13/06/2018 07:54

I’m sorry to hear that Twinkle. Another one with experience here. Again Male factor infertility. We were very lucky and were successful first time - DS is now almost 17. We tried again a few years later but I was in early menopause and two cycles only produced one egg. We went ahead to implantation on the second cycle but it didn’t work. It’s so hard. An emotional roller coaster. And everywhere you look you see people getting pregnant so easily. And it seems so unfair. Huge hugs to you.

lastqueenofscotland · 13/06/2018 07:59

Oh twinkle that’s rubbish I’m sorry Flowers

twinkledag · 13/06/2018 08:27

Thank you everyone and to @CiderwithBuda and @FizzingWhizzbee for sharing your experiences. I have a nearly 4 yr old DS conceived via IVF; have since had 4 transfers to give him a sibling which have ended in BFN or MC.

I agree the meds cause you to gain weight but I'm still under 11 stone so I'm classing that as a win Star

CiderwithBuda · 13/06/2018 08:53

Twinkle - I too really wanted to give DS a sibling. But we were talking only last week and he is happy being an only. Obviously it’s all he has known but he has cousins and friends with siblings and he has spent lots of time with them. I used to feel really guilty that he was an only and made sure he spent time with cousins and friends. He still says he is happy being an only.

FizzingWhizzbee · 13/06/2018 09:21

I tear myself up about DD not having a sibling sometimes but ultimately I'm happy with the decision. Had our cycle produced any embryos suitable for freezing we might have tried. But it didn't. My pregnancy was difficult (HG) and money is now an issue. So unless we get a miracle (which we won't) it won't be happening.

I hope DD is as comfortable with that as Cider's DS is when she's older.

So sorry to hear this sad news Twink - I have no experience but I can only imagine the emotional rollercoaster. Fizz DH's sister had an IVF pregnancy which turned out to be triplets (!) and then a surprise fourth seven-odd years later Smile

I had a nice moment yesterday; was with a friend, picked up her toddler and went "oof, she's got heavy! How much does she weigh?" and friend said about 15kg. I've lost over 2/3 that in total! Amazing to think I was lugging all that around with me a couple of years ago!

QuimReaper · 13/06/2018 12:10

Koko that is so wonderful to hear, well done! Brilliant work Smile

Twixes · 13/06/2018 12:45

Checking in as it's been a while since I posted. I toppled head first off the wagon two weeks ago and gained back nearly all I lost (so pissed off with myself) but I'm back on track. Onwards and downwards as I like to say!

Hoola I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. Recognising that you and your dh aren't getting on well is more than half the battle. You'll come through this Thanks

And more Thanksto you too twinkle, I can't imagine how difficult failed IVF treatments are. The grief must be like losing a loved one.

ponygirlcurtis · 13/06/2018 13:25

twinkle that's so so rubbish. Flowers

twinkledag · 14/06/2018 09:09

@QuimReaper triplets 😱

Had a dreadful day yesterday and ended up eating chocolate for comfort. Have started today with Avo on toast.
