You know I've jinxed the weather this month with that thread title Confused

Here's a link to May's Thread

Let's lose the Lindas. All welcome as we try and shift 7lbs in a month

I do the same Summersnake. Or hide them as I’m doing so badly!

For diet I think people are using different approaches. I’m using MFP and exercising. Although the exercise bit was rubbish last week!

BitOutOfPractice · 11/06/2018 08:03

Hello Summersnake nice to see you. No we don't all do the same diet. Lots of variety, Blood Sugar Diet, 5:2, MFP, 16:8 etc etc. Whatever ou like. Just general chit chat and support with the aim of losing 7lbs in a month (though to be honest that happens so rarely I'm not sure why we even pretend Grin )

There's a nice mix of old timers and newbies and we just pop in and out.

Sounds like a bit of a mish mash but it is, in fact, the Best thread on MNâ„¢

I had an OK weekend - 1lb up s I'll take that. Going away on Friday for my birthday on Friday so that'll be a write off so I'm going to be good till then

Hoolahoophop · 11/06/2018 08:15

Monday morning dreaded weigh in and I'm only 1lb up after a big weekend so I'm pleased. Hoping for a new low by Friday. At least the diet is going well as the rest of my life seems to be a bit screwed.

Welcome newbies. Boop's right it is a great thread, and really active so hard to loose. Wink

TVHubbyClaire · 11/06/2018 08:35

Like lasty a bad experience on scales over two days. This morning I was 12st 1Sad

I can't blame scales though.... I had dinner out on Saturday and a lunch out yesterday. My warm asparagus/mushroom salad with an egg was almost virtuous yesterday but then my dining companion decided we had time for dessert before concert started and before I knew it I was enjoying sticky toffee pudding and ice cream........couple that with a medium wine and then a couple of pints early evening and 12st 1 should not be a surprise....aargh...sometimes I do myself no favours. Back on the walking trail tonight as I will need my steps and try to shift a few calories and definitely no visits to pub this weekHmm

FizzingWhizzbee · 11/06/2018 08:40

Are you okay, Hoola?

Hoolahoophop · 11/06/2018 09:08

I'm fine thanks Fizzing just a bit rundown. Alongside Dd's heart problems. MIL is having cancer treatment and DM has just been diagnosed with skin cancer. Relationship with DH has been strained and came to a head Thursday when we both admitted to not being happy so now have to have lots of long hard chats or possibly start couples counseling. Until the last couple of years I've always lead a pretty charmed life.

HappyGowerGirl · 11/06/2018 09:18

Hey all, just checking in! Weekend wasn’t great but not terrible neither food wise. My scales seem totally screwed and inaccurate (think 60kg then 63kg then 61kg in the same 5 minutes). So annoying! Maybe it’s the battery?

Hope we all have a great week!

CiderwithBuda · 11/06/2018 09:30

That sounds very stressful Hoola. I suppose you can’t do much about health issues for family members except be there. But at least you and DH can maybe get back on track. Counselling might help. You are both under stress so that won’t be helping.

Just been for a walk. Had a JFDI moment and went. I did a slightly bigger loop than my usual walk so longer distance but same time. Amazing what a difference music makes. I normally listen to podcasts but downloaded Lisa Reilly’s playlist from her Honesty Diet book on Spotify and it made such a difference.

ponygirlcurtis · 11/06/2018 09:43

Jeezo Hoola, that's an awful lot of awful stuff going on. Flowers for you.

Well done on the loss Cider. Fizzing, that will all be water retention, it will disappear again, promise.
TV - I am up a little too from Saturday's tantalising low. But I have seen it now I think I will see it again this week if I stay focused. and don't drink too much gin on my birthday

We are nearly birthday twins, BOOP! It's mine tomorrow. Had a pre-birthday dinner at my mum's last night and DS1 commented how the only person not to have any birthday cake was the person it was for!

Hoolahoophop · 11/06/2018 09:46

Blimey, that's dedication to the diet Pony I'd have caved with cake. Thanks for the Flowers

BitOutOfPractice · 11/06/2018 10:10

Pony and we were diet twins too till you went on this amazing streak and put me to shame Grin

What do you have planned for your birthday?

OP posts:
lastqueenofscotland · 11/06/2018 10:27

God Hula you poor thing. Go easy on yourself

QuimReaper · 11/06/2018 12:39

Gosh, a lot to catch up on! Sorry, I've mainly skim read but looks like lots of super losses have been had - and happy birthday to BOOP and pony for this weekend!

This week is my only golden week of the month. It's completely hopeless, I'm out for dinner Monday, Tuesday and Friday next week and the week after's a write off too. I've scheduled one of my eleven-day Golden Stints for the first two weeks of July but at this rate it'll just be damage limitation! A bit frustrating, as the plan had been to kick another few Lindas to the kerb to make my Goal Weight a weight I am 90% of the time rather than 10% of the time Grin I'll probably just get myself back to Square One at this rate though, rather than making any progress. Humph.

Everyone keep everything crossed for an undeservedly good weigh-in for me on Friday!

CiderwithBuda · 11/06/2018 14:37

I’ve just done myself a weight loss tracker - a square per pound. I was 223 pounds starting and need to lose 70 pounds (!!!!!) to get down to 11 stone or 154 pounds. I think I’m becoming a bit obsessed. I’ve marked in little mini goals. And bigger ones like getting down to overweight in BMI categories.

Just trying to figure out how to mark boxes off when realistically I might regain a pound or two or more every so often. DH suggests I mark out the boxes for losses all in pencil so I can rub it out!

Oh Hoola no wonder you're run down! Take care of yourself Flowers

Happy birthday to the birthday girls! CakeGin

I'm having a tough day, after a rough night's sleep and mad PMS - I just lay in the bath for an hour to fight it all off and now I'm going for an early night!

I've reduced my loss goal to lose 1lb a week rather 1.5 because we've upped our exercise and I think I'll benefit from the extra fuel. I've now got 1550 calories per day to play with. Let's see how it affects my progress.

Take care all!

poorpaws · 11/06/2018 21:25

Hoola I hope things improve for you and your dh.

Started a new diet day today, ended it this evening. I’m really struggling.

CiderwithBuda · 11/06/2018 22:34

Kokoloco - it’s fairly basic!

Ada I think it's really smart to up the food to fuel your workouts - you should break even calorie wise, and the long term gains will be much much more compelling than losing weight that little bit quicker. How fit are you?

Cider that chart looks so satisfying! It'll really give you a boost to get to cross the Lindas off like that, I bet it really powers you through, like getting through a prison sentence Grin

HappyGowerGirl · 12/06/2018 09:07

Great to see lots of people still powering on. I STS this morning at 61kg (if I can trust my scales🤔)

CiderwithBuda · 12/06/2018 10:00

Ada - that sounds like a good idea. I’m on a MFP face book page and someone on there had plateaued and her PT got her to up her calories and she lost 2.5 pounds in a week. And there are a few people, struggling to lose and it seems they are not eating enough.

Kokoloco - thanks that’s exactly what it’s like! BMI bingo! Love it!

Quim - I hope so!

NanBoleyn · 12/06/2018 10:30

Hello all, had a good week and down 1.5lb so now 9st 5. Aiming to get below 9st and then will think about maintenance level (as I am NOT going to regain obviously!!)
Sticking to 1200 MFP and doing lots of walking. 13 miles along coast path at the weekend - ate all the extra exercise calories!!

NanBoleyn · 12/06/2018 10:31

A 13 mile walk is worth it to have lemon drizzle cake and icecream!!!

TVHubbyClaire · 12/06/2018 12:52

Another same as yesterday 12st 1 morning.

I must stop eating desserts AND chocolate biscuit after dinner, I must stop eating desserts AND chocolate biscuit after dinner...........
