12st 7 this morning. So a bit up on yesterday, and my average is now 12st 7.5, the same as last week. If I have a good day today, I might actually show a (tiny) average loss this week! I feel underserving, knowing how bad yesterday was! I did drink a ton or fluid though - I bet that's what saved me.

I also have some other news! It is totally undiet related but because I am (hopefully!) anonymous here, there is literally no one else I can tell, so here goes - one of my posts ended up being in the Mumsnet Loves product recommendations email! I am ridiculously and disproportionately excited about it!

Fatball · 02/06/2018 10:33

So the scales weren’t broken after all since I was under 13st this morning.

I’d sort of thought “fuck it” and fallen off the wagon the last 2 days mainly in the form of Eton Mess.

So working on the principle that more calories takes a little time for the body to register - in the same way that fewer do - I suppose I’ll be back up to 13 in a couple of days once the Eton Mess sets in.

Hey ho. I’m somewhat heartened.

ponygirlcurtis · 02/06/2018 11:09

I would be ridiculously excited about that too Fizzing! 😆 Well done you.

Fatball I always find it takes several days for food to 'register' weight-wise, whether good or bad. Keep on with what you are doing, that 12st something will stick.

Therealjudgejudy · 02/06/2018 12:11

Happy June everyone. Just checking in. On holiday now so I'll report the damage when I'm home.

Wish me luck not to go too mad!!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 02/06/2018 12:22

fizzing you're famous! Can you link to it? I've turned off all emails from mn.

Well done fatball Flowers

No change for me but I went out for a curry last night so happy with that really.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/06/2018 13:46

Nice 23 min parkrun this morning followed by being too busy to eat at work... I’ll call it the “dealing with idiots” diet

FizzingWhizzbee · 02/06/2018 14:27

(Blushes) Well shucks! I'm not sure how to link to it, but here's a screen grab:

Bloody hell lastqueen, that's a good time. I doff my hat to you. I was never much of a runner, more a plodder, but post-injury osteoarthritis and nerve damage to my ankle has put paid even to plodding.

I have finished the day on about 800 cal. I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!

HappyGowerGirl · 02/06/2018 20:00

Blimey Queen you are fast!!!

FizzingWhizzbee · 02/06/2018 21:02

My parkrun PB is around 26:45, set when I was a thin and fit newlywed many moons ago. I never got much under 29 minutes post baby and I couldn't run 500m right now, so I'm in awe of you, Last!

FizzingWhizzbee · 03/06/2018 07:31

Sound the klaxon! New low alert!

Ok, I was waiting for someone else to post so I didn't look too keen with two in a row, but I'm too excited: 12st 5.8 this morning!

That gives me a teeny, tiny average loss for last week too - 0.2lb. But a loss is a loss. I'm really pleased. I'm definitely going to keep on doing the half-hearted not-really 16:8 thing. It does seem to be working for me, if only to get things moving again.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 03/06/2018 08:50

Well done fizzing FlowersHaloStar

And I love the review.

And we'll done lasty. Great time.

It's another beautiful day here so no excuse not to stick to my plan and go for a bike ride.

MissingPanda · 03/06/2018 09:26

Sorry Fizz I was still asleep then. Well done on the loss and the review.

Last fantastic time.

Enjoy the bike ride Kick

I used to do a sort of 15/9 where I'd have breakfast around 9.30 and my tea somewhere between 5 and 6pm.

Yesterday wasn't brilliant but not too bad either. I was watching the Soap awards with dd last night and she was snacking but despite the urge to ho the shop and buy some chocolate I didn't.

lastqueenofscotland · 03/06/2018 20:40

Back in the day I could run one in about 19 minutes... alas Sad

Lucked · 03/06/2018 22:45

Food okay over the weekend but have had a few G&Ts which isn't ideal but I am feeling positive I can loose this week. Hoping for2lbs a week.

BinkerTell · 04/06/2018 08:36

May I join in? This seems like a friendly and motivating place to be.

I have 25lb to lose - starting at 12st 10. We are low carbing in June to kick things off (so much easier in the summer than the winter) and then I plan to do 5:2 forever.

Also, I have been trying to complete the Couch to 5k running app since January (shameful!) and am adding in some strength training twice a week to complement that.

I feel I need to be accountable somehow, I have had success with going to Slimming World in the past - reached my target twice but just gained it all back again when I stopped. I feel that 5:2 is more of a lifestyle change.

HairsprayBabe · 04/06/2018 10:59

I have had better weekends, went to the fair on Sunday, ate fair food so if it wasn't deep fried or covered in sugar I probably didn't eat any!

Had a better Saturday, but didn't have time to weigh this morning as was in a rush so hoping a fast day fixes the candyfloss and doughnut nonsense from yesterday!

MuddyForestWalks · 04/06/2018 11:10

Hairspray I am hoping that a fast day fixes the sausage sarnie and Indian takeaway from yesterday Blush

TVHubbyClaire · 04/06/2018 11:28

I had booze but not a huge amount of bad food and a few walks so no damage done this weekend

Our 10k June steps thing kicked off today and I got up and went for a walk at 6. Covered 5k steps so hopefully on my way for day 1. I have been slacking and not feeling good about myself in last couple of weeks so hopefully today is the start of a more positive period

HappyGowerGirl · 04/06/2018 11:41

Queen you are crazy! There is no way I could run that fast.

Saturday I spent all day eating and drinking😳 Sunday was more virtuous with little food and lots of exercise. I really could do with a few evenings without booze.

MuddyForestWalks · 04/06/2018 11:45

Happy I am doing Dry June, but I started on the 29th May so I could have a beer with DH on Fathers Day. Fancy joining me?

QuimReaper · 04/06/2018 13:59

Welcome Bits, Gab, Binker and Silver! Thanks for joining us, we love new faces Smile

Fizz well bloody done on the new low, so exciting! And on the product review of course - fame at last! Grin

Fatball thrilled for you that the scales finally moved - it's not necessarily the case that the Eton Mess will show up, you've been so good apart from that, you may get away with it! Losses can definitely sometimes take a while to show up though. I sometimes do a thing where I diet quite hard for 10 days (will be doing it again in July) to see off a couple of kilos which have crept on, I always expect to end up on an artificial low and then bounce up a bit once I eat again, but I've had times when I've been even lighter the week after (i.e. after a glorious refeed and then a normal week), which I always take to mean the diet sort of carries on bedding in for a few days even after I stop.

My plans for tomorrow night have fallen in which is excellent news! I have a work thing at some point - if it turns out to be a coffee thing rather than a food and booze thing then I can squeeze in a desperately needed semi-Golden week! I really really don't want to see a gain this week, there's no way I'll see a loss for the month but I seriously don't things to spiral...

AdaArdor · 04/06/2018 20:43

Please may I join you all? I'm about a month into a health kick, have successfully lost 5lbs since end April. I'm trying to make it to 10'5 and have 9lbs to go so this would be a great motivator! I doubt I'll lose 7 in a month but another handful would be awesome!

I've been using MFP and me and my partner are doing the Insanity DVDs (which are - I can confirm - insane). I haven't weighed in a week or so, but I'll weigh in on Wednesday to give me a new starting point to keep me on track for June.

Well done to everyone so far - we've got this Smile

QuimReaper · 04/06/2018 21:26

Welcome Ada! Is your name inspired by the VN novel?

5lbs in a month is a supreme start! Don't worry, I've never once lost 7 in one month Grin We'll get you there though. What's your calorie allowance?

AdaArdor · 05/06/2018 06:54

Thank you Quim! Spot on, it is inspired by the book - one of my faves. Are you a fan?

I'm on 1310 which at first I was worried was too low (I'm 5'8") but that is set to lose 1.5lb a week and I'm happy to keep it there as so far I've lost about a 1lb a week, so it seems right for me - allowing for a few inaccuracies and cheat days....! I also have a very sedentary job which brings it down a lot.

I'm trying to make this a sustainable change not a crash diet. I've been vegetarian for ages and trying to move towards veganism, and I'm just trying to eat more whole foods. One thing I've found for example, is how filling a salad based on quinoa can be, compared to a bowl of pasta (even with loads of veggies chucked in there). So such a low allowance (compared to what I used to eat! Blush) is forcing me to find better sources of nourishment, and I'm loving it!
