WOOHOO! Plans for tomorrow cancelled so this has turned into a surprise well-needed golden week!

It's pathetic how pleased I am about that Grin I've been hovering a Linda over goal weight since the beginning of April (before barely getting it down again in March) and now it's crept up to 2. I really didn't want to start June in totally the wrong kg bracket.

Sigh. It is so boring this fiddling around at maintenance level, I always seem to be at least a few hundred grams above where I want to be.

ponygirlcurtis · 23/05/2018 14:57

Quim exciting stuff! And that's great that you can squeeze in a golden day before you go.

Fizzing I did snort at the hosing down of DD's legs. Good luck with the toilet training.

I appear to be 6lb down now. Today has gone a bit awry though as DS2 woke at 4.30am with stomach ache and ended up in the bed with me so it was sleep or food at lunchtime - sleep won. Just had some nuts and a bit of roast chicken, and no cups of tea!

Twixes · 24/05/2018 08:26

Pony lack of sleep is the absolute enemy of dieting for me. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to go for naps during the day and if we have a bad night I have to battle through which means a staple diet of chocolate and sweets!

I did so so well yesterday until a half tub of ice cream snook into my mouth :( so annoyed with myself but it tasted delicious. 1/2 a lb down on last week and weigh in is tomorrow, not amazing but at least it's not going the other way.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/05/2018 08:55

Pony you are doing so well! Star

Bit of the weekend heft has buggered off which has spurred me to another golden day. The nice weather helps doesn't it?

I've just egg on toast with marmite on the toast for breakfast. Soooo good! Leftover moussaka for lunch and chicken chow mein for dinner. All planned and logged

Sounds really good BitOutOfPractice. How many calories does that come in at?

QuimReaper · 24/05/2018 09:39

Wow pony, 6lbs is fantastic, well done!

I've got cauli, brocolli and stilton gratin on the menu tonight. Not the most virtuous thing, but a big hunk of stilton needs using up, it isn't my fault! Wink I was going to use it in a steak and stilton pie when I thought today was a write-off, so this is a compromise.

FizzingWhizzbee · 24/05/2018 10:06

Quim I remember you having that gratin before, because I was jealous then and I'm jealous now! I also remember that stilton isn't as high cal as you might think, so I reckon you'll be fine.

Pony that is excellent work! Hopefully DS isn't too poorly and you don't pay for the lack of sleep on the scales. It really affects me too.

I was 12st 7.0 this morning. So close to seeing a 6 again!! Oh well, perhaps tomorrow. It does bring my average to 12st 7.8 though - so I am very pleased with that.

I had cornflakes for breakfast, and we have spicy broccoli pasta for dinner (which is much more delicious than it sounds), which leaves me about 750 calories to play with for lunch and snacks. I'm wondering about concocting some sort of tuna nicoise salad with bits from M&S. Depends whether their tuna has ring pull cans or not though - I don't have a tin opener at work. So I'll probably just end up with a prawn sandwichSmile

QuimReaper · 24/05/2018 10:20

Fizz yes, it was an experiement from the last hunk of blue cheese that needed using and was lavishly praised! I remember people saying it wouldn't be too indulgent because "a little bit gives a big flavour hit" - shame I didn't use a little bit... Blush

Hoolahoophop · 24/05/2018 11:28

Your dinners all sound great. I had porridge for breakfast, will have a bagel.with hummus for lunch which dosent leave me with much to play with the rest of the day, especially as today I won't get many steps in and me and both kids are I'll. So a tiny jacket potato and something for dinner. Maybe a fish cake and broccoli.

Averaging a Linda down on last week though and yesterday I had over 1k calorie deficit so that will have to help if today doesn't go well.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/05/2018 11:40

Twixes it's 853 calories so room for a snack. The moussaka is a hairy Dieters recipe and it's three quarters of a full portion. I'm having zero noodles with the chow mien.

QuimReaper · 24/05/2018 12:46

BOOP 853 calories?! Is that all? You really know how to do this calorie counting thing!

ponygirlcurtis · 24/05/2018 16:35

Oh absolutely sleep just buggers thing's up Twixes - I used to use sugar all the time to boost myself.

Quim my meals have all averaged 850 this week (was more like 900 last week). I have found it amazing how much food I can cram in when I focus on the stuff that will fill me up.

Lunch: celery and celeriac soup with creme fraiche. (This is a new find - celery soup was OK. Celeriac soup was so-so. Together they are delicious!) Roast chicken breast (skin on), kale and salsa. Alpro yoghurt with blueberries.
Dinner: pulled pork with a shed load of spinach and toasted pine nuts.
That comes in around 750 so room for some dark choc. wine

However I shall be having a break from it over the weekend. Hoping to just maintain then back on it on Monday.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/05/2018 17:44

In fact it was less than that. I'd inadverently logged two slices of toast for breakfast

It was:
B: 202
L: 242
D: 304

So 748 in total

I've had an apple as well so it's 828 now

HappyGowerGirl · 25/05/2018 07:01

Your dinners do all sound great!

I've inadvertently found myself doing 16/8 and it seems to be working well for me! 9.8 this morning

FizzingWhizzbee · 25/05/2018 08:03

See, I read those calorie counts and I can't imagine how I would survive without eating my own arm, so hats off to those of you who are super low cal. It's no wonder you're all doing so much better than me!

I was 12st 7.4 this morning, so a bit up. I'm a bit pissed odd because 1) my average hasn't changed - still 12st 7.8 and 2) I wanted to see a 6 today. Oh well. There's always tomorrow. Assuming I manage to resist eating/drinking badness after toilet training Day One - which I'm doing on my own as DH is at work. DD is still sleeping (miracle!). I will NOT be waking her - the shorter I can make today the betterSmile

FizzingWhizzbee · 25/05/2018 08:04

Ha! 'Pissed odd'Smile. Yes, I certainly did after DD was bornSmile

Thank you, auto correct, but clearly I am pissed offSmile

ponygirlcurtis · 25/05/2018 08:20

Well done on getting through toilet training day 1, Fizzing - some days are just a 'get through' kind of day.

Hoolahoophop · 25/05/2018 08:50

Good luck Fizzing, toilet training scared me more than any other part of parenting. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I expected with dd though. She got there pretty quickly with just a few wet incidents i most definitely did not send her off for lots of visits to ly perfect and long suffering parents

I'm 8st 9 today, so, so pleased with the single digit lbs. Only another stone and a bit to go.

My average cal this week has been 1300, I usually hover around 1500 (after lab weekends) I'm also breastfeeding which they say burns 500 cal a day, I've lost 10lb in 4 months. It's slow but I'm hungry, short and don't have a huge amount to loose. No idea how you manage to average under 1000 a day Boop and pony

BitOutOfPractice · 25/05/2018 09:54

Fizzing I had an apple, a slice of toast Blush and some chocolate too yesterday. Came in at 1074 which is low for me. Usually aim for 1200. I did burn about 300 calories at the gym though

OP posts:
Twixes · 25/05/2018 10:06

Another one amazed by the sub 1000 calorie intake. No one could live with me if I was only eating that much, I'd be grumpy mess! Well done though girls, I suppose it's worth it when you're seeing such good results!

Fizz how are you tackling toilet training? My DS is just over 2.5 and I was hoping to start in July. Not looking forward to it...

Down a lb this week, delighted! That's 3lb in 3 weeks. Another strict day today and then it's a nice relaxing weekend of going easy Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 25/05/2018 10:39

Yes three days on about 1000 calories and I've shifted the weekend gain...just in time for the weekend Hmm

OP posts:
FizzingWhizzbee · 25/05/2018 10:44

Oh crikey, Twix - I don't think I'm any kind of example! I'm just asking her every few minutes if she wants a wee. She does have a sticker chart for motivation but so far she is completely disinterested in it. I fear the worst!

Hoolahoophop · 25/05/2018 12:52

Do any of you fill in your food plan for the day then find yourself cutting bits out until your at your calorie goal?

I was planning g brisket fajitas tonight.....looks like I might've having them without wraps if I want a glass of wine. Sad

FizzingWhizzbee · 25/05/2018 13:18

All the time, Hoola! Though mostly its bits of lunch and snacks than meal components. Except potatoes - I often cut them because I'm not really that fussed unless they're chips. Or roasties.

ponygirlcurtis · 25/05/2018 13:56

Definitely, Hoola. I try and plan my food on MFP in advance at the moment for exactly that reason - I need to know what I can have within my rough allowance.

Fizzing when I was training DS2 I carried a potty with me every time we left the house - even took it with me to softplay once! 😆
