I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

I've lost 3.5lbs this week. I know I should be delighted but part of me expected more - I have 3 stone to lose.

Inarutneedhelp · 16/04/2018 05:58

Well done Millimat . That’s a super achievement. My weekend turned out for various reasons to be a disaster and I turned to food and undid all my good. I lay in bed in pain from the damage I did but it’s done now and today is a new day .
I will weigh next Saturday and see how I am getting on.
It’s so nice to have a supportive place to post

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 16/04/2018 06:28

@millimat 3.5lb is excellent. Well done!

The day you are disappointed with your weight loss for the week, is down the day you say, fuck it all, and eat too much and end up weighing even more than ever. I should fucking know.

whereiscaroline · 16/04/2018 06:50

@millimat oh no, why are you disappointed with 3.5lbs? That's a quarter of a stone, I'm really impressed with that loss.

millimat · 16/04/2018 08:15

Ooh I like thinking like that. Quarter of a stone sounds much better.

Tainrainrain · 16/04/2018 09:13

I'm down 2lbs which isn't great but I haven't done my usual exercise and I think I'm eating too late.
Everyone is doing so well.

Tainrainrain · 16/04/2018 09:16

Going to walk the dog then do some Pilates.
I had my homemade museli for breakfast and for lunch soup.
Dinner I am going to make a big pasta sauce for everyone but I'll have it without pasta just some cheese grated on the top.

londonloves · 16/04/2018 09:24

I put on 2lb over weekend... pizza, bread and wine. But today is another day. Just had a 150 cal graze box and a banana for breakfast. Will take the baby out for a walk later on, that's the best exercise we will get I think. SW pasta bake and veg tonight. Must remember to take it out of freezer when I'm released from being trapped under sleeping small person.

OhGood · 16/04/2018 09:50

I echo londonloves post - pizza and kids party food and WAY too much wine at dinner with friends.

Rubbish. Going out for a big walk now in the sun to sort head out. New job starts tomorrow and will be easier to control what I eat when I am in an office and working hard (hopefully).

Brilliant work millimat and tainrainrain and especially whereiscaroline - I'm also a bit chocolate addicted.

winterisstillcoming · 16/04/2018 11:21

Well done on all the losses everyone!

I'm down 1.5lb which I'll take as I did lapse over the weekend.

I've walked a few miles and had hot water and lemon.

Planning a light lunch today and an exercise video.

millimat · 16/04/2018 12:31

Thank you for this thread. It really helps - currently sat eating a big bowl of speed soup.

Seth · 16/04/2018 12:48

Hi all.. bit late to this but can I join too? Out of all the weight loss chatty reads running when looked through this morning it was yours OP that resonated with me the most (and made me smile as that's exactly what happened to me. Around Feb time I think 'great of got 3 whole months to lose this 2.5/3 stone before it gets hot and the summer clothes I can no longer fit into come out'

Now here we are mid April and I'm thinking like a lot of you on here dreading the hot weather that everyone else is so excited about and wondering how can I lose a stone in a month.

I'm 5'2 and 11 stone and it's really noticeable around my tummy. I hate catching sore of it in the mirror! In some ways I have it easier than some as I am a single parent and don't have to have a 'proper' dinner that some of my friends seem to need to consider every night.. but the down side of it is that is that at some point I will want to start OLD and I feel so flabby the idea of getting naked with anyone any time soon is too scary to think about.

I find it ok being healthy at work in the week but then 'reward' myself with too much wine in the evenings after a stressful day/ stressful bedtimes with DCs or just the sheer relief of collapsing on the sofa. This all leads onto Too much crap after my will power has wavered.

Anyway sorry too long a post. Suffice to say that I am really happy to have found you and and still torn between just 'being good' Ie lots of protein, no mid week wine and fewer carbs and doing MFP religiously.

Also.. any tips for not putting the same 3llb back on EVERY WEEKEND ?!!!

Seth · 16/04/2018 12:53

Gah just read back my post on my PC as I posted from my phone. Sorry for all those typos. Must read through before posting.

Oh and 3.5 in a week is amazing millimat!!

AllGoodDogs · 16/04/2018 13:52

I'm gonna elbow my way in here too, thanks OP! I started a week ago (wish I'd seen this thread sooner!) And as of this morning I'm 4lb lighter... that's a fair few less sausages to lug about, hey?

I'm doing meal replacement shakes or bars for breakfast and lunch Mon to Fri, because I am shit with portion control and can't be arsed to weigh everything that passes my lips. This weekend I had porridge for breakfast and Thins for lunch with baked beans Sat and tuna salad yesterday. Normal ish dinner up to 600 cals 7 nights a week so I can still eat dinner with the kids. Having fruit/ yogurt / popcorn etc as snacks, 100 cal ish and logging it all on NutraCheck app.

With 2 x school runs and a dog walk I usually manage 10k steps a day but don't have the time or inclination to do much more than that so appreciate this may be slow. I'd like to lose 1.5st as my first target. Another .5 stone after that would be amazing and give me a bit of a buffer to allow a couple lbs back on once I get there and start maintaining.

Allowing myself a small weigh day treat means I have a small bottle of Koppaberg and a bit of chocolate to look forward to once the kids are in bed tonight Grin

Good luck everyone!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 16/04/2018 13:54

Back again.

Had a bit of a bad weekend so some wine and cheese were had.

Tainrainrain · 16/04/2018 14:47

I’ve walked quite a lot today. Also been sent some AWFUL pictures of myself taken at the weekend. I just look dreadful.
Not sure what to say to the person who took them... x

NerrSnerr · 16/04/2018 14:55

I’m jumping on this thread, I’m currently about 2.5 stone overweight. Started dieting in the new year but it didn’t last. I have started swimming again twice a week and I’m trying to walk more. I am currently 11st 6 and am a size 8-10 at 9 stone so that’s what I ultimately want to be.

I went to the charity shop to buy some fat summer clothes on Saturday as I knew I’d have a meltdown on the hot days as no summer clothes will fit.

winterisstillcoming · 16/04/2018 17:43

I've been walking too, and hoping to do my 30 day shred tonight. I've been avoiding it - even all the ironing is done so no excuses.

I'm also going to top up my tooth whitening this week - it makes my teeth so sensitive I can't eat........

Keep on everyone x

londonloves · 16/04/2018 21:05

I've just had a massive cry on my Mum, she bought me some summer clothes and none of them fit, I'm so fed up of feeling so shit and wearing the same four leggings-and-smock outfits. I'm starting to feel like I don't want to get married, I'm so miserable about it. I just can't seem to break the cycle of having a good few days then a couple of shit ones, feeling gross about myself then comfort eating to feel better and round and round again.
At work tomorrow and I have to get up so early, I'm always carb craving by mid morning. Feels hopeless.

londonloves · 16/04/2018 21:06

Sorry for the rant. I'm just so furious all the time with myself that I can't sort this out, and with my bastard partner for being a man and not having to get fat bit still having a baby to enjoy. And for not emptying the bins and generally being a bit fucking useless.

Middleoftheroad · 16/04/2018 21:14

Londonloves Flowers

Hopefully we can offer support. Please don't let weight ruin your wedding though. It's so hard after kids. I did lose 5stone after my twins but remember feeling how you feel. I hated my big trousers and smoks.

What helped me was a kick start. I wouldn't normally endorse the Cambridge Diet but I only lasted a week. Lising half stone spurred me on to WW though and I got ti goal.

Currently have 2st to lose after lapsing.

londonloves · 16/04/2018 21:22

I only have a stone to go to my ore baby weight but that was 1-2 stone more than I want to be for my wedding. I wish I could accept that it doesn't matter but I don't want to look back on my wedding photos in years to come and hate them.
I will look at Cambridge diet, thank you. I'm also having a thyroid test tomorrow to see if there's something going on there.

PixieN · 16/04/2018 21:24

@Londonloves Flowers Go easy on yourself. You’re doing amazingly, especially as you’ve just had a baby. Take it one day at a time & post on here for support.

@Seth - all my weight seems to collect on my tummy Hmm

I had yoghurt & fruit for breakfast, soup for lunch & Spag Bol for tea. Just had a small glass of red wine as a treat as I did an exercise class earlier. Now really craving chocolate!

PixieN · 16/04/2018 21:27

@Londonloves - I do slimming world & have lost a stone. Still got another 1 & a half to 2 stones to go. The ‘pinch of nom’ site (which follows slimming world & weight watchers) has some great meal ideas.

londonloves · 16/04/2018 21:35

I feel like I had a win with the graze box for breakfast today as it was only 150 cal and kept me full. So going to take one for work tomorrow and Weds.
SlimmingWorld has worked for me before but hasn't seemed to this time round, not really sure why - I'm trying to follow basic SW principles though of free food and maxing protein. When I'm "on it", it's fine, then I have binge days and it all goes to pot. I want to be 11 stone 10 (pre pregnancy weight) to go on holiday on 29th May, that feels reasonable as it's 12lb in 6 ish weeks.
Today has been quite good actually and I think I'm below my calorie limit. And tomorrow is another day.
Thank you everyone xxx
