I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

@PixieN

Well done! Im still stuck on 11lb total in about 11 weeks (whoops) still better than before I guess!

Middleoftheroad · 20/06/2018 15:58

Oh and thanks for asking. I did lose the 5lbs which takes me back to that 11.

Meeting friend for dinner today so need to be so careful. I'm driving to save wine temptation...

PixieN · 20/06/2018 17:52

Good luck @Middleoftheroad. I’m out for dinner tonight too, but determined to stick to one glass of prosecco. Might have a pud though.

You’re doing well maintaining. It’s hard just doing that sometimes! Lower carbs seems to be working for me so will keep at it.

Middleoftheroad · 20/06/2018 18:04

Enjoy your night. For me it seems to be specifically sugar in choc, wine etc so need to focus.

Family BBQ Sun. My SIL had a gastric bypass and seems to just drink now and is already talking about wine, I've politely said no (DM is a feeder too but eats like a sparrow herself to stay thin and is also telling me to just drink and pig out) but tjey are not 2 stone overweight. It's not fun when you feel lousy and it's just more to lose then Sad

PixieN · 20/06/2018 21:58

Good luck with the BBQ on Sun. Sounds like sabotage from the relatives! Luckily, my DH is watching his weight now too so we’re spurring each other on & it’s kind of competitive. At one point though, he was bringing multipacks of crisps & huge bars of chocolate home which didn’t help lol. I ended up having a mocktail & no dessert - had some chocolate & a mars ice cream when I got home instead so now i’m a lb heavier! Oh well. I’ll be good tomorrow Grin

millimat · 20/06/2018 22:01

Ooh Mars ice cream Wink

PixieN · 20/06/2018 22:05

It was very nice 😋

Jemmy365 · 20/06/2018 22:07

I'm in. I've done lighter life shakes Cambridge sw and ww and loads of others...works for a bit then all piles back on and moreBlush
am doing interval training twice a week plus my sport twice a week and need to give my head a shake around portion size and alcohol.
I need 3 stone off asap. I'm gonna post my weekly losses on here
I think it was the public shame ahem...accountability that made all those other plans work in the past.

PixieN · 21/06/2018 07:01

Hi @Jemmy365 I tried shakes before & they didn’t work for me. I’m doing SW & have introduced low carbing (since I hit a plateau with sw) on the days I don’t exercise. Seems to be working so far fingers crossed!

Accountability is good. I go to weekly weigh in (but don’t stay to group) & post on here. I don’t think I’d have have stuck to it otherwise! Good luck x

Genvonklinkerhoffen · 21/06/2018 07:11

So, with reading here about starvation mode being a myth, I'm trying to eat just one meal a day, in the evening. It's like a form of internittent dieting apparently.

I've only been doing it a week so I'll see how it goes.

I'm going to live in the hotter country in the world in August and I think if I can shift a stone before then, I'll be far more comfortable.

Clearly I've known about this for almost a year and done nothing until now Blush

PixieN · 23/06/2018 14:04

My hubby is doing 5:2 two days a week. He has a fairly large breakfast on those days & that’s it for the day. I’d really struggle with that 😳

PixieN · 23/06/2018 14:07

This is quite motivating & made me lol.

@Middleoftheroad - apparently that 5lbs was the equivalent of a chihuahua! Grin

Steala · 27/06/2018 07:34

Still here and trying something I've never tried before: Slimfast. I'll just do it for 5 days to take food out of the equation for all but one meal. I've done three days and the best thing is that I don't have to think about whether I can justify a snack, whether I deserve something after a hard day or what I can eat because I'm restless. I'm not calorie counting - just one healthyish meal. It's not something I could sustain but it's been eye-opening how much I look to food to deal with every type of emotion.

cheshiremama89 · 27/06/2018 09:44

I'm off the band wagon, and have been for maybe 3 weeks?

In total I've put on 3lbs so not too bad.

Will hopefully be motivated again soon, right now I feel like I'm comfort eating as going through some pretty horrific family issues.

PixieN · 28/06/2018 13:04

Sorry to hear that @cheshiremama89 - hope things improve for you soon Flowers

I’m such an emotional eater. Been feeling fed up at work & eating everything! Convinced DH to go for a Chinese last night - it was lovely (lots of wine & yummy dishes) but definitely saw it on the scales this morning!

slovenlys · 28/06/2018 18:09

Have just had a body composition scan and although (over a year) I've put on one kg I've actually lost 2kg of fat and gained 3kg of muscle! I'm doing a little happy dance right now 💃🏼

PixieN · 28/06/2018 21:43

That’s brilliant @slovenlys 💃🏼 👍what’s your secret?

millimat · 28/06/2018 22:11

Oh yes @slovenlys please share!

Middleoftheroad · 29/06/2018 06:29

Cheshire - I've fallen off too. I have my birthday too but want to get back on as I especially hate being portly in this weather.

I have been stuck for weeks at same weight. Maybe I need a new diet or to stop going over my 1200 MFP...

slovenlys · 29/06/2018 07:57

Weights Grin nothing Olympic! I absolutely hate the gym but I've found a small one near me with a trainer who does classes of no more than 5 people. No one else can come in so there are no gawpers or people waiting huffily for you to finish a machine.

We do a mix of squats, deadlifts, presses, rows and all that jazz, not too heavy and really relaxed atmosphere. My body has def changed shape. I've always stored my chub around my belly... One year ago my abdominal area was 52% fat Blush and it's down to 38% now. Still a way to go but I'm getting there slowly slowly and that's the main thing woo hoo!

If I could overhaul my diet it would be even better but man oh man I love my foooood

rabbitmat · 29/06/2018 08:07

Please can I join? I've been dieting for four weeks and have managed to lose 11lbs so far. I've cut out all snacks, avoid carbs and eat my meals off a side plate. I've been exercising at least 4 times a week. I'm aiming to lose four stone in total so I need all the motivation I can get.

slovenlys · 29/06/2018 08:54

@rabbitmat 11lbs in four weeks is fab! Well done!

PixieN · 29/06/2018 20:53

Well done @rabbitmat - that’s brilliant!

That sounds very energetic @slovenlys. I need to step up my exercise - missed my dance class earlier in the week, so that, combined with poor food choices, has led to a couple of lbs increase. Need to get it together this weekend!

NerrSnerr · 29/06/2018 21:00

I'm back here, had a week away last week but managed to maintain and lost another 1lb this week. Only 4lbs to go until I have lost my first stone.

@rabbitmat 11lbs in 4 weeks is great, I hope it keeps falling off for you. I'm still in a really annoying in between size so hoping to lose more soon so I can fit into smaller trousers!
