I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

I’ve had a huge fail this week/weekend! Managed to gain 2lbs due to emotional eating/drinking & feeling stressed at work - I knew those Pringles (I ended up eating the whole tube!) would come back to haunt me. Also went to a lovely BBQ yesterday & ate so much bread.....I wanted to eat it all lol Grin

DH has also gained weight so we will have to be super strict this week. Annoying how easy it is to put weight on & how slowly it comes off Hmm

PixieN · 29/05/2018 08:13

I managed to lose the 2lbs I gained, plus an extra one so feeling pretty good this morning Smile Better food choices & lots of walking with my DH.

How is everyone getting on?

Cocolepew · 29/05/2018 09:07

That's great Pixie Smile
Tuesday is my offical weigh in and I've lost another lb 😊

PixieN · 29/05/2018 10:25

Well done to you too @cocolepew Smile It’s good to see the scales moving in the right direction!

ChocEggNoThanks · 29/05/2018 19:01

Thanks for the thread OP I needed the smile 😊 marking place for later.

Steala · 01/06/2018 14:11

I've eaten so much veg, I'm practically turning green. The scales are creeping in the right direction but I can't convince myself that a salad is nice than pasta or that omelettes are even a patch on pizza.

What's the best way to change eating habits? Portion size or everything in moderation (difficult for me)? Cheat day? I yo yo by being in the healthy eating zone or the eat everything in sight zone. I don't think I have ever maintained the same weight for as king as a month.

cheshiremama89 · 01/06/2018 21:43

@Steala I find a meal a week where I have whatever I want allows me to focus for the other 99% of the time.
Usually this is a roast dinner on Sunday with prosecco and a hearty dessert!

I also make sure I have cals each day for treats such as fun size chocolates x

londonloves · 01/06/2018 22:33

Hey losers
Just back from holiday, drunk an enormous amount of wine, although haven't eaten too badly I don't think (Greek deserts do nothing for me!)
Scales may be a bit painful I think...
three months til "I do"!
Gym induction tomorrow.
How is everyone doing?

londonloves · 02/06/2018 06:47

Omg I haven't put on weight on holiday...! Yesssss!!!

millimat · 02/06/2018 08:31

Impressive Londonloves

PixieN · 02/06/2018 08:39

Yay! @londonloves Smile Well done you! Sounds like you had a lovely holiday too. I’m away this week (in the uk) & my DH has brought the scales along lol 😝 I’m not too worried though - seem to be maintaining rather than losing this week & have enjoyed lots of treats. My DH on the other hand is annoyingly managing to lose more than me!

@Steala I tend to do what @cheshiremama89 suggests & have a lovely meal out with dessert each week - mine is on a Wednesday. I still have my Friday night takeaway too, but have black bean sauce now (rather than one of the higher calorie dishes) & halve the portion. I always ordered chips with it too & haven’t done that for months now.

If I fancy pizza, I still have it but not the whole thing. Maybe i’ll have quarter/half & load my plate with salad. I think it’s harder to stick to if you abstain completely.

NerrSnerr · 02/06/2018 15:52

It's great to see everyone doing so well, especially on holiday. I go away in 2 weeks. I have lost 7.5lbs in the last 2 weeks and hoping to be another 4lbs down by the holiday. I am 2 stone away from my ultimate goal but another half a stone to a stone and i'll be able to fit into my old fat clothes.

Middleoftheroad · 02/06/2018 17:42

Well done London!
I went away for three days and put on FIVE pounds!! I wouldn't mind but I wasn't even going hell for leather either (sighs)....

PixieN · 08/06/2018 07:21

That’s annoying @Middleoftheroad - I went up by the end of my holiday too (so much for maintaining lol) but seem to be back on track now.

Well done @NerrSnerr - wish I lost that quickly lol. Usually a lb a week for me. What is your secret? Are you super strict with your diet?

Middleoftheroad · 08/06/2018 07:27

Good news PixieN. I'm trying hard this week. A super skinny colleague doubted I'd put on 5lbs in three days Angry and said she could never put that much on if she tried.

It's frustrating as I do only have to look at a cake to put on weight yet some will never understand that yes, some of us are prone to gaining weight super quickly.

PixieN · 10/06/2018 10:57

@Middleoftheroad I’m normally the same - only have to look at something calorific to put on weight, but strangely I had a complete day off plan yesterday & lost a lb! Egg & bacon McMuffin for breakfast, buffet lunch (with all the beige food we’re warned to stay away from), burger & chips for tea & a big bar of Green & Blacks chocolate to myself when I got home 🙈

I read this morning (google search) that an occasional ‘binge’ day can help you lose weight as it boosts your metabolism Confused No idea, but obviously will get back on track over the next few days before my body realises it should have added on a couple of lbs instead! Weigh day on Tues.

How is everyone else getting on?

Middleoftheroad · 10/06/2018 11:15

Thanks @PixieN - good going!

We used to get back from Weight Watchers weigh-ins and if successful, we'd eat what we wanted and still lose weight so agree odd binge can help.

Went to cinema last night and tried to stick to 2 Freddos and small bag skinny popcorn.

Sounds like you enjoyed the treats and it sounds good for the soul (and oddly waistline).

Yes, enough of my navel staring (not that I've seen it in 30 yrs) be good to hear off everyone!

NerrSnerr · 10/06/2018 15:17

@PixieN i lost loads in the first couple of weeks but think most of it was bloat because I basically only ate pasta before I started the diet and lots of it. I'm also breastfeeding which is also helping.

Last time I lost loads of weight it was 0.5-1lb a week but I was going out drinking cider every weekend before I had children (and eating loads when hungover). Now I have a child who doesn't sleep so I'm not drinking at all and it's much easier, who would have thought that? Grin. I'm in that annoying inbetween size at the moment, my 14s are falling down and look huge but my 12s are still a bit snug.

I'm using MFP and have it set to lose 0.5lbs a week so get about 1600 calories but the breastfeeding still gives more more a deficit. He's 14months so shouldn't be feeding so much but has loads overnight. I hope he doesn't self wean before I get to goal as I want the extra calories when losing 😂

PixieN · 12/06/2018 19:39

Just been to weigh in & have lost a lb so I’m rewarding myself with a small bar of chocolate lol Grin
@Middleoftheroad - I’ve got an obsession with Freddo bars. It’s enough to satisfy a sweet craving, but small enough to not feel too guilty! Sounds like perfect cinema treats. What did you go to see?

@NerrSnerr - I’m exactly the same as you. Too big for size 12, but 14 is starting to feel loose. I remember when I had that problem with 10/12! I’m trying to cut my alcohol intake as we’re TTC, but it’s tricky esp after a stressful day. Might have to investigate some alcohol free drinks... i’ve started having mocktails when I go out, but they’re probably full of sugar Hmm

Did anyone watch ‘The Truth about Carbs?’ I saw it mentioned on another thread so watched it on catch up. Found it really interesting.

Middleoftheroad · 12/06/2018 22:36

Well done @PixieN - that deserves a treat! It's hard to lose 1lb so good on you.

Went with DH to see Deadpool. This evening took kids to Jurassic World - more temptation!

PixieN · 13/06/2018 22:18

@Middleoftheroad - I haven’t been to the cinema for ages. I can usually resist the sweet stuff, but do enjoy a nice glass of wine while the film is on 🍷 I have to keep reminding myself how much i’ve lost overall as it’s coming off so slowly Hmm Did you manage to lose those pesky 5 lbs?

londonloves · 14/06/2018 08:08

I'm PMT bread binging this week 🙄
Very very slow going here, barely losing a pound a week. But I am still having wine and chocolate.
Going to try and step it up next week once gym induction is sorted.
I would reallllly love to break the next stone barrier (6lb) before long and then the next one after that before my wedding but I also don't want to be miserable and starving all summer!
I like ice cream and cold wine too much!

PixieN · 14/06/2018 23:03

@londonloves - I really want to break into the next stone barrier, but i’m 9lbs away. It’s going to be v slow! I refuse to give up chocolate & wine completely too!

Just read this which should cheer everyone up Smile
