I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

That’s gorgeous! @londonloves.

I weigh in once a week with SW, but keep weighing myself at home too. Need to stop as it’s very demoralising when it goes up. My weight can fluctuate loads throughout the day Hmm

londonloves · 02/05/2018 06:07

Another lb down this morning!
I have been weighing every day first thing in the morning. I think It would probably be better if I weighed less often though, am getting a bit obsessive. Had some crap news last night re my partner's job, so need to try not to carb through it today or hit the wine tonight if the situation has worsened.

Thanks for the comments re the dress, will let you know how I get on tonight!

HappytoLurk · 02/05/2018 07:00

Can I join? Been reading the thread a few times now and have found my people. Your chat is funny and motivating!
I also meant to lose a stone over winter but got it the wrong way round and put on a stone.

At the beginning of April I set myself the goal of losing 25 pounds which would take me into normal weight range - just!
In April I lost 6 pounds which took me below the 11 stone barrier. I'm another at 5ft 2 and was starting to look wider that I was tall.
I stick at it a few weeks and then when I don't see the progess, give up - but not this time.

I'm fed up of my jeans cutting into my waist, my jeans wearing away at the thighs, my tummy sticking out further than my boobs and then there's the back fat!
By the end of May I will have lost another 6/7 pounds and that's almost a stone in 2 months.

Using MFP - 1,200 a day and not eating back exercise (run 3 times a week - min 5k and walk lots too and thinking of gym/shred to tone up)

londonloves · 02/05/2018 07:08

Sounds like you're making good progress! Welcome! (NB new thread rule bough where we don't talk about specific weight but just goals and losses)
That's a good phrase, "eating back" your exercise. I'm using Lose It app with 1450 calorie but am eating extra when I've earnt it, prob should stop doing this to speed things up!

Middleoftheroad · 02/05/2018 14:34

London - looking forward to hearing about dress and well done on the 1lb. I haven't weighed this week as it's that time of the month and it may discourage me if I weigh heavier.

Welcome happy? I'm 5ft 2 and doing 1200 on MFP but zero exercise. Last time I checked I'd lost about 9lbs over 3.5 weeks.

The worst part for me - apart from not fitting in clothes or my wedding rings - is my shoes. My feet have grown by about half size. I know when I lose it comes off, but I can't fit in any shoes and I'm fed up of it!!

Middleoftheroad · 02/05/2018 14:34

Happy - that question mark appeared out of nowhere sorry Grin

cheshiremama89 · 02/05/2018 16:43

@Middleoftheroad same as me, I'm doing MFP with 1200 cals (also 5'2).

Trying to do one day of no carbs to see how I feel, it's pretty damn hard!

Chances are I'll have some cous cous with dinner, I just feel so unsatisfied Sad

Middleoftheroad · 02/05/2018 16:54

Agree - can't live without carbs and weight still coming off nicely so be kind.
When you're 5ft 2 every ounce shows Envy

londonloves · 02/05/2018 19:57

Bought a wedding dress!
Not celebrating by drinking wine and eating chips at all
Size 14 and fits perfectly but plenty of scope to be taken in if I magically lose weight!

PixieN · 02/05/2018 21:06

Haha - nice one @londonloves.

I’m out with DH having a Chinese! Back on it tomorrow.

Sounds like you’ve done really well @HappytoLurk.

winterisstillcoming · 03/05/2018 09:14

Cheshire, winter, middle, I'm in the 5'2 club too but just under 10st now!!

I've only lost 3 lb so far but I'm fully in the zone. I'm too late to make a difference for the event this weekend but grateful for any loss tbh as the most important thing is that I've got started with it.

Welcome hip hop and others, great to find some more of my people!

I can in under my calories yesterday and I'm feeling the hunger this morning.

Have a great day, the weather looks promising for this weekend.

OhGood · 04/05/2018 16:14

Hi all - I've not done all that well. With stress of new job (has been ferocious) I find that the smallest thing can set me off eating. Or, worse, having glass of wine which turns to 3 glasses and some crisps.

I did weigh on Monday, and will try hard this weekend and weigh again on Monday. On days when I have enough headspace to keep it together I am MFP to 1200, but those days are few and far between...

cheshiremama89 · 04/05/2018 22:12

I've now lost half a stone in just over 2 weeks!
Need to keep strong! I have anniversary meals, celebrations etc for the next couple of weekends Hmm

Middleoftheroad · 05/05/2018 07:53

Well done cheshire Smile
I've been so exhausted last two days and ate an entire Easter egg.
I have to get on track today and will try not to weigh myself for a week or it may demoralise me.

Sometimes only chocolate will do sadly. I get so shattered with work, life, kids. My current set up feels even harder than the early years (work is v demanding) and with my insomnia I'm always hungry/stressed Sad

londonloves · 05/05/2018 09:56

I bought one of the whizzy body fat scales and my body fat % has dropped from 42 to 30 since January (total weight loss is 11lb). So I fee encouraged even though the weight loss number moving slowly.
Going to meet our wedding caterer today for tasting so today will not be on target!

winterisstillcoming · 05/05/2018 11:17

Well done Cheshire!

Middle, I'm an insomniac too and often eat to replace sleep, and sleep deprivation kills motivation and will power.. on top of that, reducing food intake makes you even more tired. I'd say ease yourself into the low calorie thing. For the first week I gave up junk, and but ate what I liked of anything else and upped my walking, then gradually cut down my calories and added in exercise. I'm sleeping more because I'm so tired as I'm not eating as much, so I'm balancing sleep with exercise. Hot yoga is helping loads too as i sleep really well. The key here I think is to be kind to yourself as much as you can.

Hope everyone is finding lots of energy this weekend to enjoy the sunshine. I'm going to have a challenging weekend but am feeling determined xx

cheshiremama89 · 05/05/2018 12:55

Thanks guys!
How much harder is it with this weather!
I want to sit outside somewhere with wine and nibbles!

PixieN · 05/05/2018 20:00

Well done everyone! I’m having a (smallish) second glass of pink bubbly, but I’ve walked 20,000 steps today so telling myself I deserve it lol 🥂 It’s been so lovely out.

I’ve also got some weekends of celebrations coming up too & it’s so much harder to be good.

Middleoftheroad · 05/05/2018 20:23

Thanks winter - tired today! Went out for a drink and snack but counted cals and hopefully back on track.

20k steps? Wow!

OhGood · 07/05/2018 11:40

Bugger.

PixieN · 07/05/2018 17:12

@OhGood is that weigh in? Mine is tomorrow & not looking forward to it (been trying not to weigh myself obsessively.) I’ve done over 10,000 steps today, but eaten very badly - chocolate, BBQ, cocktails...... I blame the weather!

millimat · 07/05/2018 20:13

I've barely lost any since last week Saddespite lots of exercise. I'm hoping that next week's weigh in will show the effort.

LilaoftheGreenwood · 08/05/2018 11:23

I need to fess up to a long silence full of junk food Sad Weigh in is tonight, I expect to have put a couple of pounds back on. Still visibly down from my heaviest point - frustratingly I didn't have scales then, so I'm going to estimate that was another 4 above where I am now.

As someone said above, damn this nice weather and long weekends! Suddenly seems perfectly acceptable to hoof down crisps in the garden.

millimat · 08/05/2018 11:44

And ice cream @LilaoftheGreenwood

LilaoftheGreenwood · 08/05/2018 15:49

Oh yes and ice cream. And some really dodgy looking Echo Falls "fruity" wine which could have been foul but was actually really nice. Back to salads and bananas today!
