I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

“Potruding” tummy I meant.

PixieN · 29/04/2018 20:52

@Middleoftheroad - you’ve done really well to lose that much in 3 weeks! I started just before Xmas at 11st 12 & now 10st 13. It’s nice to be in the 10st bracket & my clothes are finally starting to feel a bit looser.

I’ve got lots of belly fat unfortunately. Tends to come off everywhere else first Hmm HIIT sessions are supposed to help, but so far I’m doing 2 dance classes & 2 walk/runs a week with lots of walking at weekends. That’s enough I think.

Just got to be better with my diet. I’m generally good in the week, but it all goes to pot at the weekend!

Middleoftheroad · 29/04/2018 22:17

PixieN Thanks - love to be back in the 10s so you've done so well too.

I have a huge pouch from having twins - suspect my belly weighs half stone! So completely understand the jelly belly. Thank God for elasticated waistbands Sad

londonloves · 30/04/2018 07:32

Haven't put on over the weekend, yay!
So 10lb in 4 weeks to hit holiday goal.
Did tesco online shop yesterday so have loads of healthy stuff in, all set... except this bastard rain isn't helpful for walking!
Happy Monday losers x

Hiphopopotamus · 30/04/2018 14:59

Hi Gang! I know I'm a bit late but please can I join you all? Just started this thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/3236235-Please-help-me-feel-happier-about-losing-17lbs-yes-I-know-how-that-sounds

and realised I need a bit of a support group. Basically I've got 59lbs to lose. Only just faced up to the scales so I've been dieting and exercising for a couple of months now. Just feeling totally demotivated today so decided that posting my progress would keep me accountable and stop me chucking the towel in!

londonloves · 30/04/2018 16:05

Hi hip hop welcome. This thread is ace. Will read your other thread in due course but 17lb is ace!

cheshiremama89 · 30/04/2018 16:42

2 weeks since starting and I've lost 7lbs in total, now 9st 11

I'm allowing one treat meal per week where I have whatever I want lousy dessert.

All of the other time I'm calorie counting on MFP.

Holiday booked for mid September! Need to brave the bikini!

WinnersClub · 30/04/2018 16:52

don't care anymore. Just had a plate or rice and 4 shortcake biscuits. keep piling on weight anyway.

londonloves · 30/04/2018 17:18

Ah don't give up! Tomorrow is a new day and all that!
I had cake and biscuits and all sorts over the weekend but seem to have got away with it as I skipped lunch both days.
Going good so far today but feeling hungry now, going to share some hummus with the baby monster.
Aiming for 2/3lb per week for the next four weeks... help me stay strong ladies!

londonloves · 30/04/2018 17:22

Hiphopopotamous I read your other thread and I totally feel your pain re the wedding dress situation.
I have just accepted this weekend that I'm going to buy a dress that fits me now (size 14) and get it taken in if I do lose one/two/three stone. I feel like it's too much pressure to buy a dress which is too small and aim to get into it by a certain date.

Middleoftheroad · 30/04/2018 18:40

Welcome Hiphop - will read your thread, but brilliant loss Smile

Cheshire - I did Weight Watchers successfully for years. After weigh in every week we'd go home and eat whatever we liked. We still lost and hit gold (8st 11) then went up to 11st 11 over four years or so.....

Middleoftheroad · 30/04/2018 18:45

Hiphop - you're being so hard on yourself.
I lost around 5st after having twins to get to that 8st 11 so I know it's do-able. It just takes time and you've done so well. I was about 13st and at 5 ft 2 my bmi was over 33 so I do get it.

Keep up the great work and be kinder to yourself Smile

PixieN · 30/04/2018 21:28

Wow Hiphop - that’s an amazing loss. Just take it one day at a time.

Keep going WinnersClub. I felt like that when I gained a few pounds after doing shed loads of exercise. Very frustrating! Hmm You do think what’s the point sometimes! Just got to keep at it & don’t beat yourself up if you give in to temptation occasionally Cake Wine Grin

It is bloody hard! I want chocolate!

Hiphopopotamus · 01/05/2018 08:27

Thanks everyone. You all sound like you’re doing brilliantly! Quick question - how often do you all weigh yourselves? Now I’ve taken the scales plunge I want to keep track of where I am - just not sure whether to weigh weekly or fortnightly

cheshiremama89 · 01/05/2018 10:01

I weigh every Monday

millimat · 01/05/2018 13:30

Well done everyone. Can we just put weight loss though rather than total weight? Some of us prefer not to see others weights - might get us down! Sorry if that sounds picky?

londonloves · 01/05/2018 13:43

Good idea millimat

whereiscaroline · 01/05/2018 15:35

Sorry I've been quiet, well done everyone on the losses!

I'm really fed up too - 3 weeks of almost zero junk (from eating crisps / chocolate/ cake several times a day!!) and I'm only a few pounds down.

I've signed up to the Body Coach 90 day plan and have started to follow the first book and DVD in the meantime. It was on offer so thought what the hell! Need to try something because I so badly don't want another summer to pass of feeling ashamed of my body. Sad

LilaoftheGreenwood · 01/05/2018 16:14

Ok need to keep myself on the straight and narrow. Still no alcohol but massive sweetie cravings last night, just as well it was bloody freezing horrible weather or I'd have gone out for wine gums. I found a tiny packet of mini Galaxy choc eggs from Easter that I'd previously rejected as too sweet and they tasted delicious, this was not the taste bud re-education programme I was hoping for.

Today:
Just coffee for breakfast (by accident really)
Chicken chorizo stew leftover thing for lunch
Will have a banana and glass of milk when I get home (cos am 5 apparently)
Lamb minty steak and potato salad and rocket for dinner
And NO SWEETS.

I will have scales this evening for my first weigh-in which is a bit daunting. I basically stopped thinking about it when I passed a certain (to me significantly "bad") weight so I have no idea what ups and downs (mostly ups) have occurred since.

I agree with the thing about not specifying our weights if avoidable, it just leads to comparisons which are unhelpful and probably inaccurate anyway since we can't see each other.

londonloves · 01/05/2018 18:03

Going to try on wedding dresses tomorrow... planning to get something floaty that can be taken in if I succeed in losing desired amount of weight. Just hoping that the size I've accepted being for now does actually fit - I can't handle buying an even bigger size.
Gaaaaah why are we all so hard on ourselves? I wish we could feel gorgeous despite our sizes that we feel unhappy about. I think we are all SO conditioned to believe we are forever imperfect.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Middleoftheroad · 01/05/2018 18:44

@londonloves exciting. I bet you will feel fab on your big day. Try not to live by sizes - they vary wildly and can make you feel worse.

I think weights can be misleading anyway. I have a terrible excess overhang and even frustratingly, the thinner I get the more obvious it is.

When I got to my ideal weight last time I still HATED my body and couldn't wear a costume etc. You're right London, we are conditioned to think a certain way.

londonloves · 01/05/2018 18:54

Don't want to detail the thread into my wedding angst but this is the sort of thing I'm looking at:

https://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/ukcatalog/monn40,mon40.1/4400144610

I think would be easy to take in if the weight does fall off?

LilaoftheGreenwood · 01/05/2018 19:27

That's gorgeous London. I don't know anything about dressmaking but I see what you mean, it looks as if you could just alter the band and the spare material would be more flowing folds.

Middleoftheroad · 01/05/2018 20:42

Stunning! Agree it can be adapted.

I went full on laced up corset with mine (hoping it would hoist in my flab) it just accentuated my large breasts Babs Windsor style Blush
