Hi Smile

I have a significant birthday coming up in 5 weeks time.

I really really want to lose a stone by then. I'm 10st 8lb now. I have been creeping up from 9 1/2 stone since autumn last year. I'm best at 9 1/2 stone, I feel like "me" and my clothes fit properly.

I've been snacking and being lazy. Buying junk I know I don't need. Telling myself I'm going to start "tomorrow" every day but failing by teatime. I really don't want to have this extra stone on my birthday.

Does anyone else fancy joining me for support/tips swapping/motivation? Apparently, if you've made a written commitment, it's 58% more likely to happen than if you only thought it. Or something. All I know is I want to lose this stone and a few buddies along the way would be great Smile

Anyone in with me?

Hi

I'm very late to the party, but can I join for the next few weeks? I need a good booster start to keep me motivated to keep going. I have just under 2st to lose and it may be easier if I am part of a group.

Currently on 9st 13lbs, but I am very small at just over 5ft 2, so every lb over my ideal shows.

SundayGirls · 25/03/2018 14:46

Afternoon all and hello to the new joiners!!! Great to have you on board too! Everyone is very welcome Smile

Congratulations on your losses Thisis and Stitch! Great to hear of the progress, it's really inspiring.

Moreof well done for a fab day yesterday, good luck for another great day today!

catlover sorry to hear you're still poorly Sad
The bread and cheese is a major part of the French onion soup (sigh) but sometimes I have it with cheese (Cathedral half fat cheddar is pretty good) and crackers on the side, not quite the same but not bad.

I did manage to stay away from the chocolate mini eggs although it was a bit of an internal battle! Grin My desire to drop this weight won in the end. I know a few mini eggs isn't terrible but it's more what it represents about the commitment I've made to getting back in shape.

On the scales this morning it's a half pound off so it's just nudged into the 10st 3lb. Had a long walk this morning and have done plenty of tidying and sorting so that's burned off a few more cals hopefully!

Daily missive I will stay away from the Sunday night treats, in particular, mini eggs. Grin

Lucked · 25/03/2018 14:53

Scales were static at 2lbs down this morning so will have to wait until tomorrow to see if I have managed the 3 lbs.

I am working today but it is easier to stay on track in my office, there are hot cross buns in my house!

catlover99 · 25/03/2018 15:18

Sunday well done on keeping away from the eggs, and I guess the reward is the 1/2 lb off the scales this morning. Good idea with the crackers and cheese on the side of French onion soup - I really like cathedral extra mature cheddar, which you can get half fat. I will try that next week once I am up and about again. I was wondering about just melting cheese onto the soup, and leaving out the bread as as option too.

I have lost any sense of taste, so I am not finding it difficult to not eat too much today. I guess that every cloud has its silver lining Grin.

My only target for today is to drink lots of herbal tea and to get better Sad.

Startoftheyear2018 · 25/03/2018 22:53

Love this thread! Well done Sunday for resisting the call of the mini eggs. You inspire me. Good luck tomorrow all!

moreofme · 26/03/2018 00:02

Hello to everyone joining the thread !
catlover Hope you are feeling better .I guess cauliflower rice is a like or loathe kind of thing.I don’t mind it and I just love my normal rice, so that’s saying something!
The fact that its much less calories is the draw for me.
I have cooked some stuff today and put some in the freezer!
So today I finished the day at 1400 cals, so still over the 1200, but better than the previous indiscrimnately stuffing my face.
Could’ve probably done without the Jacobs cracker and half a belgian chocolate eclairs! Now there is no more eclairs left in the fridge and I will not buy any more - promise to myself.
I did start to get some cravings today evening but that was partly from all the cooking aromas of dinner prep.I had a glass of warm water instead.
Plan to have a 2 egg plain omelette with 1 slice of Danish white bread tomorrow - that’s about 250 calories , may add an apple or clementine to the breakfast - that should keep me full till lunch time .
Lunch - piece of oven baked salmon and lots of salad , Dinner - brown lentils with prawns or chicken and more salad !

Sunday well done for resisting temptation.
Off to sleep now, see you all tomorrow!

MrsGrindah · 26/03/2018 07:35

Bugger! 1lb on this morning! How? I’ve practically starved all weekend. Hate this.

Notproudofthisone · 26/03/2018 08:39

I only log my weight on my fitness pal on a Wednesday but did step on the scales today and was 3/4s of a lb down today so hopefully can lose another half a lb or so before wednesday. This will be my 4th week weighing in so if by next Wednesday I lose 4lbs I’ll be down my stone in 5 weeks! I’ll be really good this week to keep me on track!

Startoftheyear2018 · 26/03/2018 08:40

Weight fluctuates hugely. Don't be disheartened. Think about Friday - if you stick with healthy eating you will lose weight.

Wishfulmakeupping · 26/03/2018 08:45

Hi can I join you all?!
Currently experiencing summer fear as it’s quite mild here and I’m realising I feel very uncomfortable in most of my clothes now :(
Very annoyingly I was 11.7 last summer and wanted to get down to 11 Stone now I’ve gone up to 12.8 which puts me back in the overnight bmi :( I’m 5.10 and look completely different with a little bit off so I need a kick up the arse. My arms are flabby state and my tummy huge but not long until summer so I need to crack on now.
Good luck to you all

Doilooklikeatourist · 26/03/2018 08:53

My first week weigh in , and I’m down 1lb , so 11-10

Having had a wonderful meal , with loads of wine at a friends house on Saturday night , and a huge slice of Victoria Sponge at the inlaws on Sunday afternoon , I’m pleased with that !

I do feel better , I think it’s the amount of veg and fruit , I don’t like fruit much ( well , do tinned peach’s count ? ) so aiming to have 2 fruits with my breakfast as a good start to the day 😀

oohyoudevilyou · 26/03/2018 09:08

I'm joining too. If I can shift 10lbs or so in the next 4/5 weeks, I'll be able to wear my existing spring/summer clothes on an upcoming holiday. I can't afford to buy any new stuff, so there's no option really: I started this weekend by avoiding snacks and grazing, limiting booze to 2 glasses of wine, and had a nice 5 mile walk yesterday. This morning's start weight is 11st 1lb.

RunMummyRun68 · 26/03/2018 09:18

I weighed..... and.... half a pound on! So not as bad as I thought. With all the carb loading and sugar I'm doing ok

And....I'm constipated Blushso I might not have put on any!

Need more water

Stitchosaurus · 26/03/2018 09:30

Well, my will power at the party yesterday lasted about 2 seconds...so 1.4 back on this morning - waaah! Very cross with myself. Period is coming so I'm just in a bad mood and sulking about everything!

I've got a meal plan for this week and am away with family for Easter...but once I'm back, I'm thinking of starting low carb as I really need something to shift the belly fat.

This week, I'll carry on with daily workouts and sticking to around 1200 calories but I'm not expecting much to happen.

Still, with the gain, I lost 0.6 last week which I guess is better than nothing!

Moonshine86 · 26/03/2018 09:33

I am the same weight as you and your target weight is what I anticipate to weigh in at in approx 6 weeks time.

I'm in!

SundayGirls · 26/03/2018 10:27

Welcome to wishful, oohyou and Moonshine! Flowers Come on in!

Lucked hope you got your 3lb! Let us know how you got on.

catlover hope you are continuing to get better x

Moreof well done for a successful day staying on track yesterday!

MrsGrindah don't get down about the lb, start again fresh for today, keep going - you can do it! Did you/have you done a food diary? Sometimes that is helpful to identify not just snacks that might have added up, but also where you could make healthy swaps. Every few calories saved here and there add up.

Notproud well done on your 3/4lb off and fingers and toes crossed for your upcoming stone off!

Doilook also well done on your 1lb off, even with that yummy meal and cake! I used to eat a lot of tinned pears but found the syrup or whatever they're in did slow down weight loss. I now only eat the fruit I really like so it doesn't feel like I'm being too virtuous which only sends me running to the biscuit cupboard. So I have strawberries and raspberries with a small spoon of vanilla light ice cream, or melon and grapes in a bowl with a few chunks of cheese. (odd combination but I like it!)

runmummy you'll get that half a pound off in no time! And the water drinking will help too.

Stitch you're still half a pound down, so well done for that, and by Friday you could be 2lbs or more down if you stick to the meal plan this week. I know for me I would be tempted to think "I'll just start over after the weekend" but you can still make very good progress Mon-Fri and be further ahead overall even after the weekend. Keep going!

I made a real effort yesterday, huge long walk, lots of activity tidying and cleaning etc, and watched my portions - I made cottage pie, my favourite yesterday but I had a small portion and loads of veg instead of my more recent habit of a huge portion and a little bit of veg (followed by junk). So today I'm a pound down to 10st 2lb although it doesn't feel quite real/feels a bit sudden!
I wouldn't usually be so strict with myself but with the birthday looming in a month I want to fit into birthday dress that's currently too tight am really focussed on health, plus I am getting in the weight loss where I can because I know I'll slip up at some point (probably Easter with all the DC's chocolate lying around!)

Lucked · 26/03/2018 13:09

Got my 3lbs! Yeah

And have promptly eaten a huge piece of cake today. Oops.

Still going trying for another 3 this week.

Wishfulmakeupping · 26/03/2018 15:03

3lb a week is brilliant weight loss I’d be very happy with that too lucked
Sounds like you’re all doing well.
I’ve asked Dh to move the treadmill so I’m able to use it going to try and do 10-20 mins on it per day plus found an arm workout on YouTube and will do that daily too. Anyone tried any other good works?

Wishfulmakeupping · 26/03/2018 15:03

Work outs!

RunMummyRun68 · 26/03/2018 17:18

I just ran 20 miles! I could cry, I'm so happy!

Marathon training is at its peak, all I have to do now is taper. Ready for the big day

It's danger time now. In theory I could eat 2 Big Mac meals and it should be fine, but no. Not me!! I need to be sensible

catlover99 · 26/03/2018 18:00

Oh my, RunMummy that is an amazing achievement! You must be so proud of yourself.

And well done to everybody else who has either lost weight or is picking themselves and starting again after a weekend dip Grin. It is lovely to see so many people on this thread, I hope we can all inspire each other.

I am sort of back in action, went to work but came home early as I am not 100% (I have slight earache and a cough). I should be fine tomorrow. More or less stayed on track while being ill, and I will weigh myself tomorrow morning and report back.

RunMummyRun68 · 26/03/2018 18:18

Hope it's not that cough flu thing doing the rounds! Some nasty bugs out there

Yes well done everyone. This is going to be a tough old weekend I think

ocelot41 · 26/03/2018 19:23

Oof after a cracking first week, lost a measly 1lb in second week. What is it about second weeks???

nocrispsnocrackers · 26/03/2018 20:08

My 2lb loss seems to have survived the weekend and I did a shred workout today so hopefully I'll have a good week. My plan is to do some exercise every evening-a walk and some sit-ups if the weather is OK and an exercise DVD if it's very wet. I have a bit of time off for the Easter holidays so hope to do some gardening too.

Thisismyhappyface · 26/03/2018 20:24

Gosh well done for all of these losses!

I have gained half a lb Confused, and haven't been brilliant today either- had a couple of biscuits this morning with the ILs, and then a very nice lunch in the sun with a couple of glasses of wine.

Taking DD and a friend to cinema and for lunch tomorrow. Must stay away from the snacks and make a sensible lunch choice...

This thread is so inspiring, usually a gain would make me throw the towel in, but I'm determined to make it to 10st 3lb by Sunday.
