Hi Smile

I have a significant birthday coming up in 5 weeks time.

I really really want to lose a stone by then. I'm 10st 8lb now. I have been creeping up from 9 1/2 stone since autumn last year. I'm best at 9 1/2 stone, I feel like "me" and my clothes fit properly.

I've been snacking and being lazy. Buying junk I know I don't need. Telling myself I'm going to start "tomorrow" every day but failing by teatime. I really don't want to have this extra stone on my birthday.

Does anyone else fancy joining me for support/tips swapping/motivation? Apparently, if you've made a written commitment, it's 58% more likely to happen than if you only thought it. Or something. All I know is I want to lose this stone and a few buddies along the way would be great Smile

Anyone in with me?

Morning 😀
Started off well , strawberries , muesli and some freshly squeezed orange juice ( added bonus , some were the red oranges 🍊 lovely colour and taste )
Hoping to do the patio planters this evening ... if it stops raining long enough ...that’ll keep me off the wine 🍷

wasthataburp · 04/04/2018 09:22

ill join. got a stone of baby weight to still lose before holiday in 6 weeks time!! on weight watchers app and exercising each night from now on!! i hope i can stick to it this time!

Bobbiepin · 04/04/2018 10:16

1.5lbs down this morning so feeling a little pleased at that. Hoping that will help me stick to things today. I went to a shopping centre with friends yesterday and after they left I stayed walking around for a couple of hours, not even going into shops, just walking.

I'm off out again today, a friend's house is an hour's walk which I think might be too much to fit in but I'll definitely drive home and walk back into town later.

Goals for today drink water before I eat and smaller portions

CaseStudyResearch · 04/04/2018 10:49

@mellongoose I’m in the same boat, wedding end of May, 2nd fitting in 2 weeks time. Dress fits fine but all I can see is that belly pooch and my hips.

Currently 72kg, feel most comfortable at about 65-67kg. Hoping that I can get about 5lb down by the fitting and then a further 5lb by the end of May.

Rejoined the gym after a few months off, got to 1000cal yesterday. Aiming for under 1200cal today and a decent gym session later.

Hello and welcome to new joiners!

Bobbie you are doing so well! Fantastic progress!

Got a busy day ahead with the DCs, loads of housework to do and some gardening, so I'm hoping that will have an effect on the scales tomorrow!

Today's missive: Stick to meals only, no snacking and Drink more water. Also I'm feeling a bit.. meh in myself. The sun's coming out but I don't feel summer ready at all Smile so also I'm going to add Paint nails a summery shade and apply gradual tan to list. Just feeling all pasty and like making an effort is hard this week. When the DCs are on school break I'm too tired/want to collapse on the sofa at the end of the day, so I'm going to shoehorn in making the effort!

Oh and I ditched/gave away the rest of the chocolate eggs. So that's good!

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

I lost 0.8 of a lb last week. Impressive seeing as I ate A LOT over Easter! Definitely back on it this week, I want to at least hit that stone off mark.
I’m usually brilliant with self control, but I’ve started combi feeding my son and I swear the lack of breast feeding has made me more hungry, maybe my hormones are everywhere?

Pythone · 05/04/2018 09:36

Trying to get back on the wagon today! My plan is: drink enough water, get back on the lean protein, eat before I go to the supermarket!

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/04/2018 10:20

Got a funeral to attend today ...
Will get back on the wagon tomorrow again
Holiday is 3 weeks on Monday .. no pressure !

BodgingThisMumThing · 05/04/2018 10:21

@Pythone “eat before I go to the supermarket” MY BIGGEST DOWNFALL

catlover99 · 05/04/2018 10:22

Hello all!

I am still following the thread passively, and will be getting back on the bandwagon soon. Staying with relatives this week and involved in family stuff/celebrations until the weekend, so it is difficult to have any control over what I eat, just trying to aim for smallish portions. So I could have to start again next week. But no worries, I feel inspired, especially with the nice weather this morning! Well done to all the losers out there and hope you managed to resist the worst chocolate temptations.

Bobbiepin · 05/04/2018 13:23

Thanks @sundaygirls, so far today had porridge and raisins and having two eggs with spinach, tomato and pepper for lunch. Might have an apple too. Did 6000 steps just trying (unsuccessfully) to get DD to nap so got a tiny bit of exercise in. Scales were the same this morning but I'm being good so I know it will pay off soon.

JessTessMess · 05/04/2018 13:29

Can I join? I’m skating 11 and 1/2, and really 10 and a half would be much better - a lot of clothes I can’t get my bottom half into.

Thisismyhappyface · 05/04/2018 13:53

Hi all, did ok yesterday, kept under 1200 calories. Back to 10st 5lb today, so pre easter weight. Have lost 6lb so far, 12 more to go. Hoping to get to 9st 12lb by 1st May, so 7lb to go in next 3 weeks.
Have had soup for lunch, then noodles, chicken and spinach planned for dinner.

Bobbiepin · 05/04/2018 18:43

That's great @happyface, are you feeling better too?

@narkle I went to asda looking for Apple crumble tea and came home with chocolate orange tea instead. It's not the worst thing I've ever drunk but definitely not the best!

Narkle · 05/04/2018 19:45

Bobbie, I don't like chocolate orange, so can't comment on that one!

Pizza yesterday wasn't good, so Asian-inspired mince with a tiny bit of rice and lots of veg tonight instead. Too scared to get on the scales at the moment.

Bobbiepin · 05/04/2018 21:10

I had pizza on Sunday too. Couldnt resist. We're having lamb koftas with rice and veg for dinner. Gonna walk up to town to meet my friend tomorrow, but then I'm out for dinner. Gonna check out the menu and figure out what the least unhealthy option is.

Pythone · 06/04/2018 08:15

Under 1300 again yesterday! Aiming for the same today. I must say, eating more protein rather than starchy carbohydrates is really making a difference - I have more physical energy, and it really doesn't feel like I'm "on a diet".

SundayGirls · 06/04/2018 18:43

Welcome Jess! How have you got on today?

Thisis That is such good progress! I'm sure you will achieve your goal of 9st 12 in that timeframe with the kind of focus you have!

Bobbie I used to drink Tesco's Finest Chocolate tea (not seen a chocolate orange version) and the chocolate tea was quite nice. It isn't sold in my small local Tesco so I'll have to look out for it in the big Tesco next time I go, see if it's still in!

Narkle how are you getting on? Have you braved the scales yet? I know exactly how you feel!

Pythone sounds like you have the higher protein/lower carb thing sorted! What sorts of things do you eat? I'm more a carbs person than protein but that's because carbs seem so much more easy to eat/available! lazy me

I'm a pound down again today so slowly creeping back in the right direction. I've had a good day today eating and exercise wise but it's after the hours of 7pm it all goes wrong!

Bobbiepin · 07/04/2018 00:27

Did you stay on track @sundaygirls? It's so difficult in the evening, isn't it?

I took DD on a long walk today, about 3 hours total. I went for dinner with some friends so I only had porridge, soup and an apple so it would balance out. Surprisingly I wasn't ravenous throughout the day, shows how much I actually need to eat.

SundayGirls · 07/04/2018 08:53

Hi, I just about managed Bobbie but there was a brush with a large handful of salt and pepper cashew nuts and half a wholemeal bun with butter. It didn't do too much damage as I'm half a pound down but I know I could have been a pound down if I hadn't eaten it. Still, at least I didn't get "the hunger"... also known as "just a few more"... "maybe just a little bowl of cereal"... "oh look there's a single packet of crisps" (consecutively). Grin so it could have been worse. I love salty stuff so nuts, crisps, cheese, salted butter all very tempting!

Well done on your long walk! It's amazing how walking can really use up calories/tone up legs, I think it's a great activity. You are doing really well!

Only lost 0.7 lbs this week but seeing as I had an Easter egg I guess I can’t complain.

moreofme · 07/04/2018 09:52

I have lost 5 so far in the 2 weeks of calorie count8ng which sounds good but could’ve been much more if I hadnt given into ‘ the hunger’ a few times! Not to mention an encounter with lamb biryani .My ds has also said he really wants Dominos pizza for dinner today !
Hoping to be back on track now . I’m struggling with options for savoury snacks and also breakfast which doesnt involve eggs or weetabix - getting a bit repetitive .I love eggs but can’t have everday coz of cholestrol. Have gone off porridge somewhat.
yesterday I tried some Sriracha sauce, which I love , in some yoghurt with a pinch of salt - as a dip for celery sticks which I also like .
Hope this is going to be a better week and the weight shifts .

Bobbiepin · 07/04/2018 10:57

Oh I know the hunger very well. I've not lost any more as of this morning so I think another long walk with DD might be in order today. DH is playing golf so no parkrun this morning but I might try and get out tomorrow morning instead. Being good with food is one thing but it's so difficult to get in exercise with a little baby!

R00tat00tt00t · 07/04/2018 19:24

Hi! Can I join too please? I've been needing to lose about 10kg for a while now but have had a bit of a rough time lately with family illnesses and bereavements which when added to the usual stresses of juggling work and a young family made it very hard to find the energy/time/motivation. I really need to bite the bullet now though as summer not that far away and would really like to feel and look nicer in my summer clothes. Haven't weighed myself for a week or two but I'm 5ft 2" and ~64kg. Not terribly overweight based on BMI but very flabby and at least a stone heavier than my ideal weight. Middle-age spread has definitely set in and will be pretty hard to shift without some serious carb curbing and exercise. Hoping that you lot will help keep me motivated...

Raines100 · 07/04/2018 20:49

Hi everyone,

Not sure where I am at the minute. Heard some bugger had hacked MFP so am only self-tracking the cals atm and think I'm being generous!

Have also shied away due to Easter. Total damage was 1 easter egg, 2 crème eggs, and 2 glasses of bubbly. Also doing much less exercise with DCs off school.

Had dropped to about 10st 1oz. Now back to 10st 3oz but am due on (sorry tmi) so not sure if this extra will disappear again in a few days.

Feeling frustrated as I need fast results to keep motivated.
