I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

Of course I didnt! We ate a chinese instead! (What is wrong with me?!)

glitterbiscuits · 06/03/2018 21:35

Ok @Pob13 . We’ve all done it. Or in this case not done it. What’s the plan for tomorrow and the rest of the week?

I’ve just had a bag of salt and vinegar crisps.

Hi all,
I’m not doing calorie counting but I have gone sugar and wheat free - just 2 days of this has seen my indigestion vanish. I really miss biscuits and chocolate. Baked chickpeas are just no substitute.

What’s everyone’s pressure point? I always want to snack on junk in the evenings when I’m doing marking and planning. Instead I’m trying to treat myself with a proper pot of loose leaf tea to enjoy! It’s not the same and I’d murder for a custard cream!

BackAwayFatty · 06/03/2018 22:39

I've done well again today, fingers crossed I stick at it.

Using MFP & have found planning my meals a day ahead helps me stick to not overeating.

Playing about with the complete diary feature which tells me what I'll say in five weeks if I don't go over calories. Good motivator!

My tip to avoid evening snacking is go to bed & Mumsnet 🤣

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 06/03/2018 23:09

Pob that's exactly the sort of thing I would do. And have done.

I'm trying to haul myself out of the rut I'm in and went swimming on Sunday and Monday nights. They are club sessions at a set time so far too easy to "accidentally" mess about doing other things until whoops, it's too late to go. Which is exactly what I've been doing for the past three months! Felt much better all day today for going.

Re. danger points, mine is definitely when I get in from work. Although I can be tempted at any time really! I can also improvise snacks out of almost anything Hmm so not buying snack foods doesn't always help in my case.

cheesemumma · 07/03/2018 02:57

My issue seems to be I can't eat normally
I can either be on a really strict diet or eat massive portion sizes. I don't really eat to much junk as it's quite hard to get your hands on where I am (but I'm sure I would if I could). But once I start eating I can consume 2 huge bowls of pasta, or 3 big sandwiches. I find it hard to moderate. I suppose it's something I have to learn.

glitterbiscuits · 07/03/2018 07:47

I woke up this morning actually feeling a bit thinner. A bit less bloated.

Roll on next weigh in! I’m hoping I can keep up the momentum.

We'll done @glitter Keep going. I'm hoping your positivity an determination will rub off!

Murinae · 07/03/2018 09:24

Snacking is too easy for me. I work in a hospital with a concourse with a boots, Starbucks and a WHSmith a 5minute walk from my denk. It’s definitely too easy when I’m bored to go for a quick walk and buy a big bag of Cadbury‘s eclairs or any other thing I fancy as well as a meal deal and a latte. Which together I now realise is more than my daily calorie allowance!

glitterbiscuits · 07/03/2018 13:05

Massive jacket potato with humous and cucumber for lunch.
Going to have fruit and vitamins next.

I’ve also started taking selfies to see if I can see a change yet.
I’ve gone a bit obsessed.

I'm off work with d&v today. Horrible but I haven't been able to eat much lol

mama2005 · 07/03/2018 13:56

Still feeling positive and keeping on track. Doing lots of walking too. Sending positive vibes to you all!

Hello Thin By Christmas Chat, excuse me, I'm the Blush girl from the Too Fat for Frankie's? post. I just need a little help here on what diet to use. I'm thinking 'The Diet Groove' but is it going to be as good as a personalized one like '90 Day SSS' ? Do you need a personalised plan? Or what do you recommend?
Thanks, ...and I AM going to be losing weight Confused

sar302 · 07/03/2018 14:30

Bleurgh. Just attempted to go clothes shopping for the first time since giving birth. Those mirrors are not kind Confused

Not trying that again for a while!!!

MarkBorrigan · 07/03/2018 16:33

Hi everyone, can I join? Smile
I want to loose 2 stone before my wedding in September and subsequent ttc. I've got this app called Nutracheck where you log all your calories, I'm aiming for 1200 a day. I have a Fitbit so also I'm aiming for 1000 steps a day.

Start weight: 11 st 6lbs
Goal weight: 9 st 7lbs
Height: 5'7

Pob13 · 07/03/2018 19:02

@cheesemumma I could do with a bit of d&v. Might go and lick some dirt or something.

BackAwayFatty · 07/03/2018 23:45

Ordered a battery for my Vivo Fit to work on my steps. Been weeks since it worked.

Over my calories today BUT not drastically. Normally I have a major binge & think who cares.

Trying not to weight myself all the time - get a little obsessed.

glitterbiscuits · 08/03/2018 07:31

Morning All
A middle of the week check in. I could not resist weighing myself this morning. I’m 3lbs down! I need another 8lbs gone to see a 15 on the scales.

JustBeingJobless · 08/03/2018 07:42

Good morning, may I join in please? I have 5-6 stones to lose to get to a healthy BMI and need to do it for health reasons. I joined Weight Watchers 5 weeks ago, as I need the motivation of the official weigh ins, and am 9lb down so far (next weigh in tomorrow morning so hoping for more!), but haven’t told any of my real life friends that I’m doing it so would be nice to have some moral support on here :)

SootyandMathew · 08/03/2018 08:25

Hi I'd love to join you too please. I recently joined SW having previously tried and failed at WW 3 times Blush.

I lost 1stone 9 and in total need to lose 7 1/2 to be healthy.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 08/03/2018 08:35

Well done glitter !

Sooty 1st 7 is amazing. Well done! Do you feel like you're on a roll now?

3lb off for me so far. One more pound and I'm at the half stone mark (currently 15.8).

Then just another 4 stone to go Hmm Next mini-goal after the half stone will be 15.3. I got fat in mini chunks like this, so hopefully I can get thin that way too!

cheesemumma · 08/03/2018 08:46

@glitterbiscuits. We'll done, you're doing amazingly. Nearly at your first target keep it up!

Oh god ladies today was pretty horrendous. I'm a teacher an obvs it's very hard to take time off I'll. So I dragged myself into school this morning even though I at 5 saltine crackers yesterday and have promptly come back home again after pretty much shitting myself!!! TMI sorry.hopefullu weigh in on Monday with be good Blush

cheesemumma · 08/03/2018 08:47

So @pob13 I wouldn't go licking diet anytime soon

Kim82 · 08/03/2018 08:52

Hi everyone, can I join too please? I started the year needing to lose 5 stone. I’ve lost 1st, 8.5lb so far (I’m due to weigh in again tomorrow morning) so have 3st, 5.5lb left to go. I’ve never stuck to a diet this long before and my willpower is starting to waiver a little so I’m hoping joining this thread might help. It’s my birthday on Saturday and I have a night of prosecco with friends on Friday and afternoon tea with my mum on Sunday so this week I can’t imagine I will lose anything but if I can maintain then I’ll be happy with that.

glitterbiscuits · 08/03/2018 18:53

How is everyone today?

I’ve got jacket potatoes in the oven for me and oven chips for everyone else. I’m tired and longing for the weekend.
