I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

@MyVisionsComeFromSoup

Did you suddenly stop all food and start Meal replacements or slowly drop one meal a day??

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 09/06/2018 08:21

Nelly - I switched straightaway to shakes, with a few days of low carbing beforehand. It's actually easier to do it that way as you get all the horrificness of week 1 done and dusted, and get into ketosis quicker, meaning you don't feel hungry after about day 5. I think trying to do it gradually one meal at a time would make it much much harder.

What is going to be really tough though, is adding food back in (properly and healthily, rather than having occasional blow outs like now SadBlush), as I think to maintain I'm going to need to be on around 1200 calories a day (because of medication/illness). That's why a VLCD is about my only option to lose weight, as I can't see how I can eat healthily on the calorie allowance Id have.

Morning all

I'm 15stones and 7lbs. I have no idea what I was last week as have lost all my weight loss data. I'd kept it for about 5 years on and off. Probably best if I don't think about it but it had highs (18 ish) and lows (14ish) on it. Nothing to be proud of.

It's going to be a good week!

Morning all, checking in after a week and a bit away... didn't see the post from Teenageromance but your post did make me Grin glitter!!

Haven't dared to step on the scales yet but all my clothes are tight so it'll be a bad one. Started with a 10 day AF leaving me exhausted and on a constant chocolate hunt and went on from there! Desperate to get back in a routine now, make life a bit quieter/ easier all round.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday x

mama2005 · 11/06/2018 12:31

Afternoon all - 1 1/2 lbs off this week for me. Have a good week!

glitterbiscuits · 11/06/2018 13:05

If I can lose 5lbs in a week I will be 2 stones off. If my will power holds I think it's possible as I have some period bloat at the moment.
So I bought this book to inspire me and so I get less cravings.

Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

5lbs in a week would be phenomenal glitter!! I think I'd have to have liposuction to get near that Confused

I'm still really tired, and hungry, and worried that my virus symptoms are returning - 10 weeks illness at the beginning of the year certainly put paid to my weight loss ambitions for a while. Feeling a bit better after taking vitamins & iron tablets and resting today whilst the DC napped but still looking for some holistic lifestyle changes. Still investigating...

BigFatBloomers · 13/06/2018 21:20

I hope you’re feeling a bit better Ruby. It’s hard to make those healthy choices when you’re feeling rubbish.
Well done mama and maybe well done glitter!

I’ve managed to put back on 5lbs - one more than I lost last week.
I had a week of Paddington urges and I’m sure a 2am - on my way to bed - doughnut probably didn’t help!!

We have just booked our summer holiday for the first week in August and there are lots of outdoor activities to do. As the rest of the family are pretty fit, now is the time to get really focused. I want to lose 1 stone by the end of July. I’m going to have to start exercising, aren’t I?

glitterbiscuits · 14/06/2018 06:38

Seems doable Bloomers. 2lbs a week

I'm still focussed after a my big lapse a few weeks ago. If I'd stuck at it I'd be a lot thinner now. I'm just trying to think of the long game.

I hope everyone else is having a good week so far.

glitterbiscuits · 14/06/2018 06:42

Ruby how are you feeling? I'm interested in your holistic life changes?..
I'm trying to look after myself a bit better. Vitamins and skin care mainly. But I'm not as zealous as when I started.

So my residential course was absolutely brilliant but unfortunately the food was too and I’m up 2lbs. Also found my old habits of eating when nervous or stressed creeping back in but at least I recognized it.

Could have been worse though and still focusing longer term (August hols and then Xmas). I’ll weigh again sometime next week and hopefully I’ll have shifted the extra 2lb again and be back on target.

Well done to everyone else.

BigFatBloomers · 14/06/2018 10:52

I know the eating when stressed behaviour. I used to run residential courses and had to try v hard to walk away from the biscuits. By contrast my colleague would barely eat during the day and make up for it in the evening. I always knew I needed a good breakfast.

RubySlippers77 · 14/06/2018 12:42

I find it really hard to be sensible when I don't have control of the food choices Mind. DP loves eating out but I find it quite stressful with the DC clambering all over me and having to find the healthiest choice on the menu Hmm

Not sure what I mean by holistic glitter, still giving it some thought but I am so fed up of being fat, tired and achey all the time. How do Deliciously Ella and all the other smug people do it?! It doesn't help that both DC are poor sleepers and DP is bugger all help sometimes but surely I should feel less terrible than this...

RubySlippers77 · 14/06/2018 12:45

I've put a couple of lb back on too Bloomers (my inner Paddington won't let go!), still 35lb left to target. Sigh!

laurely · 16/06/2018 16:36

Hoping I can jump in?

I have 6 stone to lose . I've started tracking on MFP and also dowloaded the active 10 app with the goal of two active 10s per day .

Weighed in yesterday at 17 10 . My goal is 11 10

Going to try and read the thread now

RubySlippers77 · 16/06/2018 22:56

Hi Laurely!

It's been very quiet on here lately, hopefully everyone is doing well Smile

I'm struggling a bit at the moment, hopefully we can inspire each other!

glitterbiscuits · 17/06/2018 10:10

Hi

Anyone new welcome to tag along. 27 weeks until Christmas. Which could mean 4 stones off!

I'm edging towards having lost two stones. It has been more of a slog than I wanted it to be as I lost my willpower a few times. I am hoping to loose 5 by Christmas in total.

I have improved my skin care and started taking some vitamins too. My skin is loads better.
I need to exercise more but I'm so short on time.

Weigh in day tomorrow!

OP posts:
laurely · 17/06/2018 12:04

Thanks for the welcome

I weigh in on a Friday with a friend at work . We put 2 pound each in a box at each weigh in and will use the money for a night out at Christmas, cheaper than a slimming club!!

Had a walk this morning. Did just short of 7k at a brisk pace . I'm going to try and do that route 3 or 4 times a week . Eventually I want to start running .

glitterbiscuits · 18/06/2018 08:13

2lbs off for me. Which is ok but I really wanted 5 to get to a 2 stone loss. I was obviously not a bloated as I assumed

I'm finding cooking for the family a challenge. I'm sure if I lived alone I'd do better. That and not have to work.

MindBodyChocolate · 18/06/2018 12:46

Argh!! Weekend was a food nightmare. My littlest ds was 4 so it was a cake and pizza fest !! Was lovely birthday party and fun though so not complaining (much).

So. Back on it this week. I’m reluctantly coming to the view that bread is my worst enemy. Once I start on it I just can’t stop. Not only that, it bloats me and gives me terrible stomach cramps. I’m going to have a bread free week and see how I feel then. Am hoping I’m not wheat or gluten intolerant - suspect not, but felt terrible yesterday evening and this morning.

RubySlippers77 · 18/06/2018 16:47

Well done glitter! I did find weight loss much easier when it was just me to cater for and I could exercise as much as I wanted... spent this afternoon cleaning the kitchen whilst the DC napped but it's not the same as a run/ gym/ dance session!

Mind, I'm coming to that conclusion about bread too. I love it but don't think it loves me Sad

RubySlippers77 · 20/06/2018 11:56

Is anyone else still going?!

I'm struggling on, thinking of starting my own 'half year athon' based on the New Yearathon thread on here! Jan was a bit of a washout for me with that awful virus I had (for 2 1/2 months!!), but July - Christmas would be doable...

glitterbiscuits · 20/06/2018 13:00

27 weeks to go!
I've not had the best week. I just cracked open the Nutella as there was nothing in the house for my sweet craving.
I'm off on holidays in 6 weeks. I really want to loose another stone and a bit by then

OP posts:
BigFatBloomers · 20/06/2018 14:53

Afternoon all
14.6 today so 6lbs off. I can’t really believe it as I haven’t eaten that healthily this week but I’m really pleased. There has been toast,
cheesecake, focaccia - father’s day was fun - but to be fair, I guess I didn’t have that much of any of it.
I’m now the smallest I’ve been for a long time. Hooray!

Well done glitter. Stay strong everyone else. Bread is definitely my weakness and dangerous if I find myself hanging around the kitchen (I work from home). Hot cross buns are the worst. I love them but immediately get indigestion.

What would a half yearathon entail Ruby? I may well be up for joining you. I really want to ramp it up. Getting ever closer to doing something more active than walking the dog. There are also various other things I’d like to focus on too. I missed New Year through illness too.

We go on holiday on 3rd August. I’d really like to lose another stone by then. We’ve booked somewhere with lots of activities available. I’d love to feel fit enough to join it - stand up paddle boarding anyone?!!

BigFatBloomers · 20/06/2018 14:53
