Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

Re: books I read the Allen Carr book which had some helpful points - but extreme for me though. I did think the ideas about how refined sugar only appealed to us because it mimicked the fruit we should naturally be craving were sound though (my problem has always been sugar). I quit smoking years ago using his book too, so it does help sometimes to apply ideas about addiction.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 29/05/2018 13:24

Thanks for the replies. Definitely carbs mind and when I’m feeling ok the drink then fruit thing works but when i’m stressed I have the carb treat too although i’m not hungry by that point it’s just a psychological need I think. I will look at Allan Carr thanks twopoints.

Hello everyone,

These bank holidays wreck my Monday weigh ins. I seem to be coming down slow but steady now 16 11. I’ve tried exercising as well but fallen out with that I prefer a good book actually prefer reading sides of washing up bottles rather than exercise! Hope everyone has a good week.

BigFatBloomers · 30/05/2018 13:25

Just popping in mid teen Dd shopping trip (waiting outside changing room!) to say had put on 2lb, due to long weekend and DH’s family staying for what felt like a v long time.
However, I’m happy today as I’m back to 14.11. Trying to stay focussed for the rest of the week (although I’m away for a long weekend which may be boozy)

Twopointsforhonesty · 30/05/2018 18:20

I’ve had a bit of a wobble for the last few days. It’s a slippery slope! It started with popcorn...

I’ve just got my taste back after a week without and it’s too tempting!

Twopointsforhonesty · 30/05/2018 18:20

Well done, @bigfatbloomers. Getting back on track is often the hardest thing. Damn complacency.

RubySlippers77 · 31/05/2018 09:23

How are you getting on Bloomers and Two?

I can definitely relate to it being a slippery slope - finding it very, very hard to get back into my exercise & healthy eating routine. The DC are squabbling pretty much every time I turn my back which doesn't help... plus we're going away tomorrow to see my mum for her birthday, so probably another week of rubbish eating!

Feeling very tubby and bloated at the moment Sad

MindBodyChocolate · 31/05/2018 12:38

Hello all, checking in before a weigh in tomorrow. Am hoping for a small loss. I’ve done quite a bit of cycling this week (it’s very hilly round here, so it definitely counts as vigorous exercise!!) but have had a couple of unfortunate days food wise, given that it’s half term and the dcs have been around, gobbling crisps and ice cream and tempting me :) Tykes.

Felicitycity · 31/05/2018 12:44

I've lost 5 pounds in 2 and a half weeks. BMI down from 31.9 to 30.9 - well chuffed. At this rate I won't be obese much longer!

MindBodyChocolate · 31/05/2018 14:05

Well done Felicitycity - moving out of the obese range is a great achievement. If I get a BMI under 30 I’ll be bloody chuffed!! I also read somewhere recently that ‘health outcomes’ are not markedly different between those with a BMI of 20-25 and 25-29.9. Obviously it’s personal choice what weight you’re aiming for in the end but anything below 30 BMI does seem to help, health wise.

RubySlippers77 · 01/06/2018 00:15

Well done Felicity Grin

My BMI is just under 30 and it does seem to be a cut off point for lots of things...

Worked out why I'm so flipping exhausted - currently on day 8 of AF and still going - even the iron tablets aren't helping much Sad just want it to stop now!

Unicornwhisperer · 01/06/2018 17:03

Hi, I threw my hat in the ring and then had to go away but have lost 4lbs, probably due to going on the wagon.
I tend to be an 'all or nothing' person, and I wondered if anyone had tried Slim and save? I looked on their website last night and there are a lot of good reviews.

glitterbiscuits · 04/06/2018 09:32

Morning glitter! I'm in - another 1/2 lb off this week, 16lbs in all. Hope everyone has a good week!

MindBodyChocolate · 04/06/2018 10:42

Morning! Checking in for another week. Just 1lb off so inching towards a stone off!! This week will be an odd one as I’m away doing a residential course for 4 days so while I won’t be making my own meals there won’t be a lot of time for snacking and I’m so nervous about it, I think I’ll burn off some extra calories that way 😆

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 05/06/2018 08:32

2lbs off this week Grin

BigFatBloomers · 05/06/2018 12:21

Afternoon all!
4lbs off this week. I’m delighted as I had a boozy long weekend away but my lovely friend was very happy to cater to my dietary requests and it obviously paid off. Down to 14st 7lb.
Ruby hope you’re feeling a bit better now.

Sounds like this isn’t the thread for you Teenageromance

BigFatBloomers · 06/06/2018 03:31

UnRavelling welcome aboard. We’ll look forward to hearing more from you.

glitterbiscuits · 06/06/2018 11:41

Teenageromance I really have no idea how I gained so much weight. I was happy in my life as a naked body double for Angelina Jolie. But when she split up with Brad I didn't get as much work. So now I'm trying to find work as a Sumo Wrestler.
Not much call for it on Norfolk though.

Just checking in to see how everyone's getting on? Week has been going ok for me so far - feel like I'm in the swing of things now, but sometimes hard to contemplate the long journey ahead, isn't it? Sending positive and supportive vibes to all!
