Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

Well done Just! And hello to cherry and LittleMiss Smile

The key to it for me has been getting into a routine where it's easier to eat healthily than not - I'm not a great/ enthusiastic cook though which would help! If I can eat the same few meals and snacks on repeat then frankly I'm happy to do it to make life easy. I rejoined WW which obviously isn't for everyone, but our leader is lovely, and that motivates me too. Oh and having the app is sometimes enough to make me go Shock and not eat something I'd previously have scoffed down!

This tummy bug is still making me feel pretty rotten - even the thought of exercise is horrid - but I'll weigh in on Thursday (WW day) and hopefully back to normal from then...

RubySlippers77 · 08/05/2018 10:03

Also in the past few days I have had friends tell me about (via Facebook) a 30 days free offer for Les Mills on Demand, and a 28 day weight loss challenge through Healthy Mummy. I'm hoping they meant to be helpful and aren't just tactfully pointing out that I'm still podgy!!

JanesTeddy · 08/05/2018 11:38

Hi everyone, I forgot to post yesterday, another loss not sure how I got one this big though, I have checked the scales two days in a row to make sure but 4 1/4 off fro me. Hurrah.

Have also been shopping for smaller clothes which was nice.

Littlemissloopylou · 08/05/2018 14:05

So I got weighed, 15st 6.5lb. That's 3lb less than about three weeks ago but I'll probably take today's as my starting weight.

Start - 15st 6.5lb
End goal - 10st 5lb (71.5lb to lose)
First target - under 15st

Healthy regular meals, at least 2 litres of water, vitamins, increase daily activity, reduce evening eating, and sensible bedtime.

RubySlippers77 · 08/05/2018 16:19

Well done Janes 👏

And well done LittleMiss for drawing a line and starting again - plenty of support here.

I feel fine till I move or try to do anything, currently reading and making the most of peace and quiet whilst the DC nap!

cherrytrees123 · 09/05/2018 05:32

I'm going to try and check in every day to motivate myself. I had to go out and buy new bras as I've been forcing myself to wear old ones that I have finally to admit are far too small. i tried on last summer's clothes over the weekend and find to my horror that hardly any of them fit. my self esteem is at an all time low. I can relate to what many other posters have said. I need something simple that works, and I can eat the same things on repeat, just need to find what i enjoy. Not living close to a decent supermarket doesn't help. Too often I can't find anything to eat in the house and end up eating pasta etc.
I've got into bad habits and I need to break them. Trying to walk for at least 45 mins a day, eat smaller portions and cut out alcohol. My weighing scales seem to be way off which doesn't help.
Being overweight has such a massive effect on how you feel about everything....

glitterbiscuits · 09/05/2018 12:49

I’m still here and I haven’t weighed this week. I have had a few days of feeling sorry for myself as my ribs hurt. I’m living off food that everyone else brings to me on the sofa.
No one has noticed the washing basket is overflowing etc. I’m just resting for a few more days.
Back soon

Welcome to everyone new and for all those plugging away I’m glad you are still about.

Hi everyone
Sorry to hear you’re still in pain glitter. Hope everything improves soon.

I’m on the sofa too today. Bad stomach. Another 2lbs off though, so down to 15st. 9lbs in just 3 weeks. I’m v happy. Excited at the thought of being 14st something.

Thank you so much for starting this thread glitter. I really was loosing all hope and had no focus.

Well done everyone else too and welcome CherryTrees and LittleMiss

MrsOH2004 · 09/05/2018 13:46

Hi can I join? Lost 2 and a half stone two years ago and have put it all on and more, was doing slimming world, weighed myself this morning and I'm disgusted with myself for allowing myself to now be the heaviest I've ever been Sad

MrsOH2004 · 09/05/2018 13:47

Going to read through the thread now x

Peachydream · 09/05/2018 14:16

Hi Everyone, wondering if I can join with you? I need to be accountable somewhere.

I lost a significant amount last year but really struggling with my last 2.5 stone to goal, same 7lbs on & off since November last year. Tracking using Gear Fit & following a low cal/low carbs & plenty of protein diet. Binge eating is a massive problem & keeps coming back- though I can recognise it now, can't always get a handle on it!

Gave myself a kick up the arse & weighed in yesterday at 13st.7.5lbs, Target is 11st. Fresh start, no more excuses and all that Grin

BigFatBloomers · 09/05/2018 18:39

Welcome Peachy. Consider yourself accountable!

RubySlippers77 · 10/05/2018 00:02

Great weight loss Bloomers!! And hello to Peachy and MrsOH Smile

I'm going to weigh in tomorrow to draw a line under a week's holiday when I didn't go too mad, and a week's illness when I have eaten my body weight in toast and marmalade, as it was the only thing that didn't make me feel sick Confused May also sign up to my free LMOD trial depending on my energy levels, but first need to curb my Paddington Bear tendencies...!

RubySlippers77 · 10/05/2018 08:57

12st 7.5lb for me today. Only 8.5lb down from the beginning of the year, but I have been ill for 3 months altogether, so it could be worse! At least I'm not gaining like I did last year...

32.5lb to go Shock

DickTERFin · 10/05/2018 11:07

Paddington Bear tendencies - that made me laugh! 8.5lb is better than a kick in the teeth - hope you feel better soon.

Some great losses. I still haven't put a new battery in the scales so I have no idea if I've lost anything (could it be avoidance of finding out what I actually weigh, I wonder?) but I've been doing well eating wise. I did three fast days last week and found it fairly easy. Well, the not eating bit is easy. The sticking to a set amount of calories... not so much, but I haven't totally blown a fast day yet (usually coming in at around 600-700 calories), so I hopeful that I'll be making some progress.

Only doing two fasts this week as it's period week and I just can't face anymore than that, however I've avoided shovelling a metric fuckton of carbs and crap in my mouth which is frankly a minor miracle so I'm patting myself on the back regardless.

Peachydream · 10/05/2018 13:53

Thank you for the lovely welcome Smile Well Done everyone on your losses this week.

Doing okay so far- apart from Chocolate Brownie-gate last night- mustn't sabotage myself. Gym Night tonight & aiming to keep below 1000 Cals. & redress the balance. 35.5lbs to go.

MrsOH2004 · 10/05/2018 18:18

Finally made it to the end, I'm 14 stone, I got down to 9 and a half stone on slimming world 2 and a half years ago, so I know I can do it, my problem is snacking in bed reading, have not done that the past 2 nights so I'm pleased with that.

FAF4 · 10/05/2018 20:47

I'm really proud of myself for sticking to my healthy eating plan for three whole days! I'm trying not to eat after about 6 ish during the week as evenings seems to be the time I eat 80% of my usual intake! I've had three cups of tea, a glass of water and a diet coke since 6 to try not to be tempted. Well done everyone and thanks for commenting, it makes me more determined reading your comments. Have a good week.

stickerrocks · 11/05/2018 10:23

I've dipped out of the chat here for a couple of weeks because I was a coward and didn't want to report that my weight was stuck/wedged just above my first 10% off target. Well I'm now absolutely delighted to see that it's shifted and I've now lost 24lbs in total and now 89.33% of what I was originally.

I would struggle not to eat after 6pm FAF4. That's when I'm usually getting in from work and starting to get tea. I would be lost without my chunk of cheese, bag of French Fries and G&T later on in the evening.

FAF4 · 11/05/2018 18:49

Well done on the big loss Stickerrocks! That's great! I must admit I don't know how long I will be able to stick to no food after 6. I literally rush in the door, cook and eat immediately. I'm going to try to stick to it during the week because I eat so much in the evening. I fancy a G&T now I've read your comment! Have a good weekend.

stickerrocks · 11/05/2018 19:10

G&T approx 100 calories with Fever Tree light tonic or just go for Fever Tree Clementine & cinnamon tonic and don't waste calories on the gin.

mama2005 · 11/05/2018 19:50

Ooh now I fancy a g & t too! That tonic sounds amazing, I love Fever Tree. Congrats on losses - glitter glad you're still here and hope you are feeling better. Check in with you all on Monday.

RubySlippers77 · 11/05/2018 22:32

That's great sticker, amazing weight loss!!

Not too bad a day for me despite DS1 spending the whole day in a grump - woke up grumpy, stayed grumpy, and was grumpy all the way through a hospital appointment too. After spending 1 1/2 hours trying to keep the DC occupied and vaguely interested in the hospital, I reckoned I deserved lots of gin a jacket potato with cheese, and it was yummy!

Been making some WW snacks for tomorrow as DP is out tonight, I think he will be doing the bare minimum with the DC tomorrow so I won't have much time to myself.....

RubySlippers77 · 12/05/2018 19:45

DP's hangover struck with a vengeance Grin no sympathy from me!

Today I have learned how to make sugar free fruit compote. So easy even for a very lazy rubbish cook like me! I can have it with my porridge tomorrow Smile

RubySlippers77 · 14/05/2018 00:00

The Biscuit Monster caught me today Blush

On the bright side I've had loads more energy - that tummy bug must have affected me more than I thought - just need to stop eating biscuits like there's no tomorrow!
