Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

2lb for me since last Monday but STS since Thursday (WW weigh in day). Planning a good week to impress my WW leader this Thurs before we go away for a week!

Well done glitter and Grey 👏 as you say, it's all about planning long term and aiming for Christmas, I have too much fat to lose to be thin much sooner! (And even then I won't be thin as such!). I don't seem to be losing weight very quickly but my jeans are looser which is nice.

Perhaps the tube chap was just being polite and chivalrous Sticker? It amazed (and disappointed!) me that even when I was hugely pregnant some people wouldn't offer to give up their seats...

Tired out this morning, DS1 has started getting up at 6am, which in turn wakes DS2. By 9am they are yowling, overtired little hellcats. So pleased to have packed them off to preschool!!

JanesTeddy · 23/04/2018 11:50

Hi All well its another 3lb off from me , this sees to be slow steady loss so hopefully will continue long term.

GettingBackToMe · 23/04/2018 12:54

Well done everyone - 3lb isn't even slow JanesTeddy - it's nearly half, of half a stone!

I'm going to weigh tomorrow as I ate breakfast this morning, and then remembered the scales. I know it shouldn't make THAT much difference but I want to keep all the factors exactly the same. And Blush we went away at the weekend, to a place where ice-cream was everywhere... so umm not actually looking forward to knowing...

Justabadwife · 23/04/2018 13:27

I've stayed the same this week. Although it is TOTM and i have eaten nearly everything in sight. So hopefully next week I will see a loss. 😁
I'm beginning to notice a difference in myself and people are starting to comment on weightloss ❤

glitterbiscuits · 23/04/2018 14:04

Oh! I just got a wedding invitation for early September- that’s an incentive!
I wonder if I could do 3 stones off by then?

Bowednotbroken · 23/04/2018 14:46

Well done everyone! I've put a pound back on - gloom.

BigFatBloomers · 23/04/2018 23:10

Evening everyone
I am down to 15.4 so about 5lbs off. I'm so pleased it's heading in the right direction at last.

I didn't eat particularly healthily, esp as it was DH's birthday, but I did make an effort to eat less carbs.

Hopefully this is the boost I need to get more focused. I have the Davina 7 mins dvd. Could be time to get that out...

Well done everyone for the losses or just staying connected to the thread.

glitter a wedding is a great goal to have.

I enjoyed the swim skirt chat. Hadn't looked at it that way Getting but good thought. I quite fancy surf shorts and a bikini top which would serve the same purpose!

GettingBackToMe · 24/04/2018 11:36

Less than 1lb this week, but will take a teeny tiny loss over the gain I feared!

Now down to 16.4 and have a fridge full of salad, so fingers crossed I can do more next week. Don't worry Bowednotbroken it's great that you still posted and hopefully next week will be a different story :)

That's a fab loss Bloomers well done, yes surf shorts would do nicely too. I'm tentatively thinking about checking out aqua aerobics at local pool next week... do you go swimming at lot?

RubySlippers77 · 24/04/2018 16:19

Well done Bloomers and Getting! Fingers crossed for next week Bowed Smile

I've just done the 30 day Shred in the hope of losing a pound or two before Thursday and my WW weigh in. It's a long time since I last did it Blush (that is both embarrassed and the colour of my face now!)

DickTERFin · 24/04/2018 19:24

Well done all the losses and good luck Ruby for Thursday (my face could guide ships safely away from rocks, after exercising). I must buy some new scales so I can track my progress.

I did my first fast as part of the 5:2 on Monday. I was a bit lightheaded at times but didn't find it to hard to get through. Probably ate a little to much when I broke my fast (about 620 calories, rather than 500 cals) but not horrendous for a first try. I'm doing my second one tomorrow so will try and tweak it.

The low carbing is also going well and have only had a small palm full of rice with dinner tonight as opposed to a portion that could feed half a family that I usually eat and I'm not missing it.

Mbear · 24/04/2018 21:16

13st 11, so 1 lb back on! Booooooo! I’ve taken my foot off the gas though this week, so not surprised. Hey ho

glitterbiscuits · 25/04/2018 07:21

I’m going to weigh again tomorrow for a mid week check up.
I’m really focussed at the moment so want to keep up the momentum.

Everyone here seems to be doing well. Keep on keeping on!

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. That's me today after Shredding yesterday!

Thank you glitter for starting the thread, my size 16s are feeling a bit looser now, I would love to be thin(ish) by Christmas!!

RubySlippers77 · 26/04/2018 06:59

Half a pound off for me this week. It's very slow weight loss at the moment Sad

glitterbiscuits · 26/04/2018 20:20

1 lb off mid week. I wanted more as I have a hectic weekend ahead and no guarantees I can eat as well as I need to but I’m still feeling positive. I cant get the weight off quickly enough.
Skin care still going well, as are vitamins and I’m even making some headway with my house and garden.

BigFatBloomers · 26/04/2018 22:47

Well done glitter. I’m trying to stay focused too and had a quick weigh in this morning. Stayed the same but I’m happy with that. At least it’s not going up!

I hardly every swim at the moment Getting as I worry too much about my dyed hair! However I’ve really enjoyed aqua aerobics every time I’ve done it and was thinking about it recently. It always makes my laugh and I’m all for amusing exercise.

I’m just thinking about doing Couch to 5k. (Not that that would be at all amusing!) Has anyone tried it? I am incredibly unfit at the moment but our local sports shop is organising a course and make it sound fairly doable. I would love to be able to move freely again.

Well done for shredding Ruby. I am in awe of anyone who even contemplates that. It sounds so hardcore.

JustBeingJobless · 27/04/2018 11:25

2lb off for me today, taking me to 22.5lb in total! I’m over the moon Grin

Well done to everyone else. We can do this!

RubySlippers77 · 27/04/2018 14:54

Well done Just and glitter 👏

And well done on your staying the same Bloomers - sometimes I know I'd be happy with that if I've had a bad week!

We're on our way on holiday now, hoping it will be a relatively healthy one for me, not too many treats and lots of walking (assuming the rain goes away for a bit!). DP late home from work? Check! Motorway now packed because we couldn't get away on time? Check! Emergency chocolate consumed to cope with bored and grumpy DC? Check Blush

DickTERFin · 29/04/2018 19:07

Enjoy your holiday Ruby.

Justabadwife · 30/04/2018 07:54

Have a lovely holiday @RubySlippers77

Weighed in this morning 14st 12lbs. So that's a 3lb loss 🤩🤩

Hope everyone has a good weigh in day 🤗

mama2005 · 30/04/2018 09:23

Well done just! 2lbs off for me this week, so 11lbs so far.

glitterbiscuits · 30/04/2018 09:37

I’m 16st 2lbs

I would have liked this to be lower but in all honesty I’m not trying too hard.
I wish I could focus on myself a bit more. I don’t even have my vitamins over the weekend which is not like me. I worked all week and we have builders in over the weekend.
I was hiding from them and living off junk food and freezing cold. Have the heating back on now
I am looking forward to a 3 day weekend and warmer weather.

I would have liked to have a day off and gone for a walk or swimming or to the gym. I’m finding the work/life balance really hard at the moment

JanesTeddy · 30/04/2018 10:53

Hi

Well it was a 1lb off for me.

That will teach me to go through all the cupboards and find every chocolate bar and crisp packet I could find.

I was just so hungry don't know why I just had two days with hunger pangs that it didn't matter how much I ate. 😱

GreyandGrumpy48 · 30/04/2018 12:15

1lb on for me but congratulations to everyone who has lost this week. Just can’t stop eating and I don’t really know why. Still start again this morning and hopefully next week will be better

Bowednotbroken · 30/04/2018 14:30

Lost the pound I put on last week! But as I'm still on crutches and struggling to walk fast or far I guess it's not bad. Hang in there everyone - proper spring will arrive eventually then it will be easier (fingers crossed anyway) to eat more healthily.
