Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

The urge to sit and peel the skin on my feet is massive. They occasionally feel a bit tight or tingly
I think the skin on the sole of my heel is still tough and lots of thinner skin like the back of my toes is coming off and it doesn’t need to but on the whole it’s quite positive so far. Probably know more in a few days.

Hello! Can I join in please? So much to lose :(

glitterbiscuits · 11/04/2018 09:55

Oh and if you’d seen my feet before you wouldn’t have thought they were dry. There was no flaking.

Every new person is welcome. Unless they are thin already. I’ve had a two week breakdown but was successful before that.
I’m trying to incorporate weight loss with a few beauty treatments, vitamins and also a bit of household productivity.
I’ve just booked a plasterer to do a long over due job..years over due.

I would like to get to the end of the year and have my body, health and house under control.

Can I join please? Your last line about being in control by the end of the year is exactly how I feel. Because I'm not at the moment Sad

glitterbiscuits · 11/04/2018 10:19

Hi @Tomorrowisanewday - I think the problem is your name. Today is the new day. Start now.

I would eat a biscuit and think ‘ oh well, Ive blown it now’ and eat the whole packet, thinking new start tomorrow.

I always want things NOW. I’m trying to accept that it’s baby steps. I cannot get thin overnight. I can’t deal with the clutter in one go. But maybe by Christmas I can be vastly improved.

glitterbiscuits · 11/04/2018 12:33

What’s ever having for lunch? Can anyone inspire me?

OP posts:
Tomorrowisanewday · 11/04/2018 12:41

No, I picked it to remind me that even if I've messed up today, I can make it not the same day tomorrow Smile

Chorizo and roast tomato egg muffins with some salad. Only started eating eggs regularly recently, but I find I won't feel hungry until my next meal, rather than wanting snacks which I'd want when I had just sandwiches

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 11/04/2018 13:05

I'm having an omelette with peppers and onions and salad, Tommorrowisanewday, I find that eggs keep me fuller for longer too, and stop me from reaching for the snack cupboard.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 11/04/2018 13:07

Thanks glitterbiscuits and mama2005 I know MIL means well but she is so negative and judgemental of everyone that I find her company very draining. Still I am determined not to succumb to over eating to get through it as all that damages us myself.

constantflux · 11/04/2018 13:54

The foot thing is amazing, might have to try it. My feet really suffer through walking so much and I'm always having to try and fix them, but it never lasts long.

I weighed in yesterday and lost 3lb, which makes 27.5lb so far (6 weeks in). I'm dead chuffed with that but it's getting harder, the calories burnt each day on my Fitbit app is getting less and less as I shrink. Obviously that's expected but still...

I'm having a salad for lunch with sweet chilli dressing, about 80 calories. It's naff if I'm honest but im saving calories for dinner, the food shopping is being delivered later so I want to be able to have something nice

Stickerrocks · 11/04/2018 22:38

glitter no offence, but your feet look ick. I am seriously considering this, but I need to pick a time when a) I will be at home to fidget with my feet and b) won't get hot feet so I need to remove my socks and mount everywhere. I am slightly concerned about foot itch.

Stickerrocks · 11/04/2018 22:39

Moult, not mount.

glitterbiscuits · 12/04/2018 07:18

Sticker there was no itching. Today there are no flaky bits at all, which probably means I will need to change the sheets! I’m going to soak my feet, exfoliate and moisturise tonight. Iv got another sachet left so I may try again on the weekend to see if anything else comes off.

I couldn’t face the midweek weigh in this morning. I worked 14 hours yesterday so I’m still shattered.

I’m keeping up with most things but my food habits are wandering off in all sorts of directions.

My MIL is lovely Grey but such a feeder!! It's no coincidence that she + all three of her DC are overweight! If you only have a small portion of something she's cooked she looks sad (and confused!) as to why...

3lb off at WW weigh in today, which means I've lost nothing since Monday. How annoying! I did get a smiley face sticker on my card though. Unfortunately I'm still fat so avoiding stopping at the nearby bakers on my way home Sad

GreyandGrumpy48 · 12/04/2018 10:57

Ate far too much last night and managed to put on 3lb since yesterday. Still AF has arrived so I will blame my hormones rather than my lack of self control and start again today with a clean slate. Foot sachets have arrived so that’s my evening sorted 😃

glitterbiscuits · 12/04/2018 11:43

I think I might keep a note book of what I’m eating. Even if I don’t sort all the calories out it may embarrass me!

I have had a high protein blueberry yoghurt for breakfasts. And about a million glasses of Pepsi Max

RubySlippers77 · 12/04/2018 12:33

The notebook would be useful glitter - it makes you think about things but also helps you plan what food to buy, if you could do with more fruit/ veg, etc. Really anything that makes it easier for you to make healthier choices! I know that my day is much easier if I can prepare stuff in advance as the DC are very unforgiving about waiting for meals...

MIL gave me some tops yesterday as she thought I might like them. I am a size 14 at the moment. The tops are size 20 Confused

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/04/2018 13:00

Glitter, the foot thing looks good, think I will give it a go. Oh dear Ruby, maybe you could use them for something else? Or take them in if you really like them?

glitterbiscuits · 12/04/2018 13:31

Ruby my MIL disliked fat people. She didn’t really like food. She couldn’t cook and thought Little Chef food was lovely.

She was a size 12/14.
I am an 18. I once admired something she wearing and she said ’you can have it when you can fit into it’

RubySlippers77 · 12/04/2018 13:59

Ouch glitter. She wasn't exactly the best motivator, was she?! Whereas my MIL would feed the five thousand if she could, then offer to do the washing up afterwards. Think Mrs Doyle from Father Ted...

My DM has been a bigger lady for a few years now after having mobility problems and it's a vicious circle, the bigger she gets the worse her hip/ back/ knee problems are, and the less motivation she has to exercise. I'm hoping to learn from her example in a positive way and keep moving as much as I can!

cheesemumma · 12/04/2018 18:44

Ooo @glitterbuscuits she sound like a bitch to put it bluntly.

Managed to find some scales today, though they weren't digital. It looks like I'm about the same, which is better than a gain. I'm joining the slimming world train in 3 weeks. I will be thin by Xmas!!

Bowednotbroken · 13/04/2018 08:12

Lost another 2lbs so am down to 15 12! Really very pleased.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 13/04/2018 08:31

Well done Bowed I succumbed to fruit crumble last night but otherwise had a fairly controlled day- hoping to stay the same on Monday which will be a win given the amount i’ve been eating

Bowednotbroken · 13/04/2018 09:43

Thanks Grey!

Glitter you asked about lunch - I have more or less the same every day - a bit of cheese, a handful of tomatoes and a handful of walnuts, then an apple. Eat it slowly if I can - that helps! Then snack on oranges / other fruit in the afternoon. I have been allowing myself a couple of pieces of dark chocolate a day too.
Don't ask about evening meals though - as I've said before DH has no idea about portion sizes when he cooks, and often brings out the cheese if my cooking wasn't enough for him!
