I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

I'm down 1lb so I'm now im 15st 2lbs.
I had a really bad weekend food wise, we have had a Chinese, cake, KFC.
Still not snacking, or really drinking fizzy pop (I did have a 7up last night because KFC had nothing un fizzy)
I averaged 10,202 steps everyday last week so I will see if I can improve on that.

Murinae · 02/04/2018 10:53

16 st 4 here today so stayed the same which is ok because I’m off work and snacking more. Back on it next week and keeping watching this week that I don’t go too overboard with all the chocolate in the house!

I’m late to the party but can I join you all please? I will weigh myself when home but think I’ve got 6 stones to lose. I’m also tired with aching joints so I need to do this 😋

RubySlippers77 · 03/04/2018 09:04

I'm in glitter after an uninspiring week - tried WW and lost 1.5lb in my first week - promptly went on hols and put on 2.5lb 😩

(In my defence it could have been a lot worse, DP and his family wanted to eat out all the time, I would have been happy eating in our cottage!)

Rabid PMT at the moment and just wanted sugary things yesterday. But, today is a new day and all that; weighed myself and I am 12st 13, so 38lb to lose. It is 38 weeks till Christmas as well Hmm

Been reading back on the thread - we had no WiFi at our holiday camp so I missed out on a lot!! - and I think someone asked about buying clothes in smaller sizes? I was a 12 for years and have loads of clothes in the loft waiting for me to fit back into. Just had to buy a dress in size 16 though for my friend's wedding in a month Sad tried it on last night, it's a lovely dress but I look so matronly in it, there's no other word! For me hanging up a smaller size dress would definitely be an incentive, but DP is bound to make a catty comment...

newsparklythings · 03/04/2018 10:26

Can I join in too? I know I have food issues. Ate 5 cadburys creme eggs for breakfast this morning Blush after buying them on offer yesterday. Made me feel sick but on an average day I will be looking for more as soon as that has worn off. Right now I feel tired and sleepy so that's the come down. Really need to break this.

glitterbiscuits · 03/04/2018 11:48

Hello @newsparklythings and @Oh2beatsea

I’m trying to get my determination back. I made myself potato salad for brunch. Not especially low calorie but filling and vaguely healthy.

New sparkly - I could easily eat the same as you. I’m trying to be more “normal” with food.

I’m beyond caring how I look I just want to feel, and actually be, healthier

Hi everyone, I'm inspired reading your comments and successes. I hope I can join you- I have 5-6 stones to lose to be healthy. Done every diet going over the years. I'm now getting worried about my health and the example I'm setting for my kids. I know what to do and we eat healthy meals, so as long as I can cut out the rubbish...

Stickerrocks · 03/04/2018 18:38

Well my petite size 8 mum has had heart surgery today & I'm feeling very proud of myself for resisting DD's Easter eggs and sticking to my plan, although I will treat myself to a G&T later. I weighed in at under 15 stone (just) yesterday. That's 15lbs off now. I'm shifting this slowly & steadily, but it's the little victories which count, like fitting in my fave trousers which I hadn't been able to wear for years.

Stickerrocks · 03/04/2018 18:44

Spleeny I'm calorie counting (1200 - 1500 per day). The biggest shock to my system was realising what a "normal" portion looked like, rather than the huge pile of pasta & spuds I was filling myself up with. I an still treating myself to roast potatoes, but cooking things in a healthier way whenever possible.

My DH is doing the same, but he is eating 1900 per day. He is within a smidge of losing 4 stone since 1 Jan. I started a few weeks later, as I needed to get my head in the right place first and I Didn't want to get bitter if he was regularly losing 5-6 lbs per week and I was "only" managing 1-2.

glitterbiscuits · 04/04/2018 08:20

New day. New start.

I finally used some body lotion last night and my legs no longer feel like sandpaper. I’m going to try to keep it up for a few weeks so I can use some fake tan! I’m so white I’m almost pale blue so I need the help.

So, face cream, vitamins, body lotion.
Diet is still patchy and no time to exercise. I’m working until 8.30 tonight. Started at 6.30.

Not sure what else I can add to feel better

Haven’t been posting as diet gasn’t Been good and i’ve been feeling low but need to start again. The sun is actually shining i’ve had a healthy breakfast and it’s 10 weeks until I go away. I would love to lose a stone by then.

mama2005 · 04/04/2018 08:49

Well, have been lurking, as the less said about last week, the better...but today is a new day!

PutTheChocEggDown · 04/04/2018 12:15

I'm still in the holiday vibe although working today and everyone has their leftover chocolate in! I really need to obey my name today.

Bowednotbroken · 04/04/2018 14:00

Me too Mama - way too many chocolates for Easter, a big birthday in the family and still stuck on two crutches so practically no exercise. Very frustrating. But - I did manage to snack on fruit yesterday afternoon...

mama2005 · 04/04/2018 17:24

I know Bowed - so difficult isn’t it? Well done on your fruit snack. We just need to concentrate on the long game here!

Stickerrocks · 04/04/2018 17:36

Client dinner this evening. I've tried to be good all day so I have a few more calories available this evening, but I know that when I get there I will be flipping starving & order triple fried chips. Another well meaning client gave me a big Thorntons Easter egg earlier. Why does everyone assume that if you are fat that you want to eat chocolate all the time?

RubySlippers77 · 05/04/2018 15:06

Triple fried chips and a big Thornton's egg sound amazing Sticker!! But wouldn't help my ongoing attempt to be less podgy SadSad

Weighed myself this morning, STS - thought that was ok after a bit of chocolate over Easter and horrid TOTM going on - had sensible breakfast, did a HIIT workout, went to WW and had put on a sodding pound Angry

Walking lots this week (helped by the newly arrived sunshine - yippee!) but DP has now broken the boiler after being unable to wait till our plumber got back from hols, so now we have no hot water. We had a small drip coming from it but it was otherwise ok, after DP's DIY efforts it's now not working at all...

Mbear · 05/04/2018 16:48

Please can I join? I lost 1.5 stone last year but weight has been creeping back on. I know I need to get out and do more, but just need to constantly watch what I eat. I can graze for England!

Stickerrocks · 05/04/2018 19:32

Well the TFCs were actually a great disappointment - more like flour wedges than crispy fluffy spud. I ate a couple and gave up. The Thorntons egg is out of sight until I go back to work next week. They can eat it in the office.

Stickerrocks · 05/04/2018 19:36

Hello MBear.

Kezzie200 · 05/04/2018 21:14

I'm 12st 13.5 (1.5 off this week)

No.idea what I started at last November as I didn't dare look but it was probably around 15 stone.

Target 9 st 10.

Mbear · 05/04/2018 22:17

Hi!
Well I didn’t snack this evening - which I think is my biggest downfall, and I’ve started logging what I eat again on mfp, so baby steps.

mama2005 · 06/04/2018 11:08

How’s everyone getting on? I am trying My Fitness Pal this week - a bit fiddly, but finding it v helpful to see how many calories are in my go to meals. A real help with portion sizes I must say (one of my downfalls).

mama2005 · 06/04/2018 11:12

@glitterbiscuits, hope you’re feeling more positive - you’re doing so well!
