Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

Does any one mind if I join?

I'm 13'11 down from 14'8 mid feb. Which was down from 15'3 last summer.

I have pcos which seemed to make weight loss impossible but I'm now on metformin which I think is making a difference as I can actually lose some weight.

I'd like to be 10 stone. Well, I'd like to be 9 stone but that's probably a pipe dream.

Would be great to have some diet buddies

Don’t give up glitter you’ve been doing so well. Key thing is just to move on , accept you had a blip but don’t let it derail you. Tomorrow is a clean slate- we didn’t get overweight because of the odd bad day and a bad day won’t stop you meeting your target.

glitterbiscuits · 27/03/2018 06:46

Yay! Had a good week and did MFP every day (more or less!). Also laid off the booze which makes a huge difference. 16st 4 so 4lbs loss this week. Glad am back on track since my 2lb gain last week. May be able to see 15st soon which feels good. Keep at it everyone, we can do it!

Stickerrocks · 27/03/2018 22:10

Weighed in yesterday and I've lost 15lbs on the old scales, 13lbs on the new. Since then I've won a case of beer (yuck) and been dealing with my mum being taken seriously ill. I resisted WH Smith's in the hospital. Baby steps...

Bowednotbroken · 28/03/2018 07:45

Well done Stick- and so sorry to hear about your mum. Hope she recovers soon.

I've lost another pound! Which I know doesn't sound much but it puts me below 16 stone (just!), and it's years since I weighed less than 16. Still sofa bound most of the time but did manage to crutch my way round 2km yesterday so am very pleased with that too.

Bowednotbroken · 28/03/2018 07:45

And well done Ant!

haverhill · 28/03/2018 08:07

May I join? I’m 47, 5 foot 7 and I need to lose about 3 stone. I was low carbing happily until a holiday in France and peri- menopausal hormonal cravings happened!
My visions, which meal replacement are you using? I feel like not thinking about food for a while is what I need but SlimFast doesn’t appeal.

Justabadwife · 28/03/2018 08:48

I've just weighed myself.
I'm 15st 6lbs
But i have lost 4lbs since last time I weighed myself. 😃😃

glitterbiscuits · 29/03/2018 09:35

My mid week weigh in shows I’m still up 3lbs. And since my PMT breakdown I’ve been ok but it not as good as I was.

I’ve got 4 days off from tonight, maybe I can squeeze a bit of exercise so I can redeem myself by Monday?

I’m managing to moisturise my face twice a day. Unheard of for me. It’s making a difference and I’m taking vitamins. I’d like a manicure and pedicure but no time. And I need to start with body lotion but it takes so long!

Anyone else doing anything for ‘self care’ ?

Thanks Bowed I hope I can see the back of 16st soon - congratulations. And being on crutches is knackering and must use at least 4 x the usual effort. Keep positive Glitter a bad week is just a bad week. You'll get back to losing soon. I've been trying by to drink water for self care but might start some face care stuff soon too. Am probably too old for flannel and water only now!!

FlameOutTeacher · 29/03/2018 21:42

Marking place for a read through later. I want to lose 2 stone fairly quickly as considering trying to sneak in one last baby.

PutTheChocEggDown · 30/03/2018 11:03

Can I join you all? I've just had a holiday breakfast of Pringles so that probably tells you everything you need to know about my eating habits Blush

So I'm 40, 5'6" and today in clothes I weighed 14st 11lbs. I was 15 st 7lbs at my heaviest but for the last couple of months I've been doing a sort of 16:8 most days where I have a small snack at 11, then hot lunch I bring from home and then a decent dinner. So I suppose I have lost a bit from that alone.

I'm going to do my weigh in on a Fri morning if that's ok. I'd like to get down to 12 and a half stone initially. So roughly 2.5 stone to lose.

Those of you who are losing well - how are you doing it? More veg, fewer carbs / less fat?

Glitter I like your vitamin and face care thing too - I could do with that myself!

antwaki · 30/03/2018 14:00

PutThe I love you user name! I'm not worrying 100% what I eat but just try no to stay under my daily calorie allowance on Map My Fitness. Have been trying to eat a fair amount of protein as I know from bitter experience that otherwise I just ruin the good days work with tremendous night snackage! Later on I'm gonna try and move to more healthy foods. Having about 50% of my meals as ready meals at mo - coz too hard to move all bad habits at once. But y'know what do I know, did this all before and lost 5 stone before putting 6 back on. GrrrrBlush

Stickerrocks · 30/03/2018 16:13

Got home for a pit stop late last night. My eating habits have been all over the shop for the past few days. However, the new scales are now showing that I've dropped into the next stone down & I'm now 15.5lbs off on the new scales. I've been living on M&S ready meals & coffee with no booze in case I had to get to the hospital quickly. Now that I'm 200 miles away, it's even more important to avoid my nightly G&T, but I am going to swap it for 2 or 3 M&S choc quail eggs instead.

glitterbiscuits · 30/03/2018 21:23

My willpower has left me. I can’t seem to battle Pmt, a monstrously heavy period with its accompanying constipation ( despite very high fibre diet).
Tears were shed this morning.
I’ll try again tomorrow.

Quiddichcup · 31/03/2018 07:20

Yesterday morning I was 13'8, so a loss of 13lbs !

I'm very happy with that and am swishing about like I'm kate moss.

I am still fat, but, still 😁

Yesterday also was the start of my weeks holiday where I intend to eat exactly as I want, so I expect a gain of a few lbs but then I'll be back to it.

Stickerrocks · 31/03/2018 14:08

I can fit in a pair of trouser I haven't worn for about 5 years. Yes!

Stickerrocks · 31/03/2018 14:09

Glitter drinking copious amounts of strong coffee or Pepsi max may get things moving.

PutTheChocEggDown · 31/03/2018 21:11

Good job Stickerocks!

Glitter hope you got some relief- at least when this 'dark friend goes off to sea' you're gonna lose half a stone !

glitterbiscuits · 01/04/2018 16:44

Well, I’m still here. Beginning to feel a bit more like me. No exercise despite my bright ideas. I know I’m looking at a gain on Monday but I am trying again. 15 weeks until school breaks up. 38 weeks until Christmas. I hope to be at least 2 stone down by the start of the summer hols. And at target by Christmas.
I am not giving up.

OP posts:
Stickerrocks · 01/04/2018 16:50

Good on you Glitter. Even if you do weigh a little bit more than you did last week, you still weigh less than you did when you started this. Focus on the positives. You are fitter, healthier and not as big as you were.

glitterbiscuits · 02/04/2018 07:54

16 stones 3lbs. So a gain for me but a fresh start today.

I hope everyone got on better than me this last week.

I will still be THIN BY CHRISTMAS!

JanesTeddy · 02/04/2018 08:32

@glitterbiscuits it's the determination to succeed at the end that counts, you don't win a war with one skirmish. 😃🙏🏻

Weigh in this morning from me
2/4/18. 18 st 5.5. =. 4.25 lb loss.

I was good only had one Easter egg given this year and didn't do my normal of buying myself several. I also shared said Easter Egg and still have a 1/3 left normally it's MINE.

I'm a lb from one of my mini goals of riding my horse, luckily she is a big girl not fat but 850kg so can easily take my weight.

antwaki · 02/04/2018 08:35

16st 6 so up 2lbs. Angry Boo. Anyway, onwards and upwards Glitter and everyone. Am gonna try and meal plan and do a bit more exercise. Might unlink my Runkeeper app from MFP. Think it really over estimates how many calories I use walking the dog (very slowly). Good luck this week everyone!
