I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

It’s now 39 weeks until Christmas if anyone wants to join in.

That’s a chance for a decent weight loss even at just 1 or 2 pounds a week.

Only half a pound off this week, but it’s better than a gain! I’m on holiday from Monday though, so that’s gping to be challenging not to go crazy and eat all the fish and chips!

whatifI · 24/03/2018 20:35

Weighed myself this morning and I've lost 1 lb.
Tried not to snack and only had two packets of crisp this week.
Normally I have two in one sitting, every night! Feel ashamed just thinking of the amount.
I'm not eating any breakfast at the moment, what low calorie, quick breakfast could I eat? Any suggestions

whatifI · 24/03/2018 20:47

Well done to everyone on your weight losses 🏆

(Sorry haven't got a pen handy to note down all your names and I'm on phone app which doesn't let me copy and paste. How do you guys copy the names into your replies?)

sar302 · 25/03/2018 21:25

I weighed in this morning (thank god as have eaten so much today...) 14 stone 8 . So, this week is a 4lb loss.

It seems to fluctuate so much - I really don't believe I've dropped 4lbs in a week. Long may it continue! I'm using the Happy Scale app and it breaks everything down into mini goals, which is very motivating :)

glitterbiscuits · 25/03/2018 22:29

Tomorrow is my ‘official’ weigh in day.

I’m still feeling determined but have been a bit more relaxed over the weekend as I have PMT! Never had this years ago, I bet it’s the imminent menopause.

Monday 26th March

Glitterbiscuits 15 stones 13lbs - 2lb weight loss

I’m convinced I should be at least 2lbs lighter again and I think this is actual period weight gain.
Still, onwards and hopefully downwards for this week.

16 weeks until school summer holiday and 39 weeks to Christmas.

Good morning

Loss this morning 2 1/4 lbs.

I've upped exercise this week I have been trying to do more steps and going from approx 2000 steps a day to 7000 to build up to 10000 a day.
I'm not sure if I might need to eat all of my points to help with this will find out this week.

Littlegoth · 26/03/2018 07:42

What a great thread! Jumping aboard 😄

5ft 2 and 15 st (96kg). Weight has rocketed over past 5 years. As a minimum aiming for 5 st weight loss. Ttc dc1 at the moment and hate feeling so unfit. Glad to have diet buddies!

reachforthewine · 26/03/2018 07:58

Ooo can I join in?

I've got weight to lose aswell (4 stone in total) aiming for my first stone off by June. I'm exercising in the house at night but also going swimming twice a week. My job involves me going from place to place so I'm never sitting during working hours apart from driving between places.

Is anyone trying slimfast?

Murinae · 26/03/2018 08:15

I‘m weighing in at 16 st 4 lbs so a one pound weight loss. I’m happy it’s slowly going down especially since I have snacked again a lot this week and we had a party and went to McDonald’s and the cinema.

GreyandGrumpy48 · 26/03/2018 08:23

Well done to everyone in their losses. 3lb for me this week which i’m happy with especially as I succumbed to cake yesterday. Not at work this week so I need to be careful I don’t snack during the day.

glitterbiscuits · 26/03/2018 09:57

@cheesemumma - where are you?

glitterbiscuits · 26/03/2018 10:02

@MyVisionsComeFromSoup - looking for you too

OP posts:
glitterbiscuits · 26/03/2018 10:07

@reachforthewine and @Littlegoth - welcome! More the merrier.

This is the longest I have stuck to a diet in years and at the moment I’m motivated to change. Although I know it may change at any mouthful.

I keep trying to project forward to see what weight I could be by the time I go on holidays or, like the title says, I could finally be at my lightest weight by Christmas.

cheesemumma · 26/03/2018 10:39

Hi @glitterbiscuits wow you are doing so amazingly well. This week i stayed the same, which is fine. Sad it's not a loss but at least not a gain.

9 months till Christmas. Keep going guys you're all doing brilliantly. I think I've been avoiding you all because I'm not doing great but ithink this is where the support is at. Xx

glitterbiscuits · 26/03/2018 10:43

Glad you are ok cheese. No gain for me would be good if my heart wasn’t quite in it. Count it as a big win!
Back to it today?

OP posts:
Justabadwife · 26/03/2018 11:06

Ooh can I join?
I need to lose 5 stone really (probably more) I was 16stone last time I weighed myself 😭😭
I've cut down on the fizzy drinks and the snacks, and I'm using MFP.
I'm going to a wedding in May and want to look a little less frumpy, and I'm off on holiday in June, so if I can lose a stone before then it would be great. :)

MrsSlocombesPussy · 26/03/2018 11:27

Hi,
Haven't had much success this week, I've managed to stay the same though, which is good considering all the snacking I have been doing. I did go on an 8 mile walk with the family yesterday and I am feeling it now! Legs and back are aching.
I can't believe I am so weak that my back muscles can't support me for a couple of hours of walking!

mama2005 · 26/03/2018 11:42

I’m still here too, but no loss this week - seem to do well during the week, but “relax” a little too much at the weekend, so need to get on top of that. Well done to everyone who has lost, maintained and/or committed to this - am finding this thread so helpful. Thanks again Glitter for starting this - and keeping us all going!

ItsASairFecht · 26/03/2018 11:51

Can I join in? I've lost a lot in the past (5.5 stones, several times..the shame!)..currently regained 2 ..trying really hard to get a grip..have started long walks and intermittent fasting. In need of an actual miracle. Not very happy with myself.

ItsASairFecht · 26/03/2018 11:52

Should point out that even having lost 5.5 stone I still had at least another 3 to go.

glitterbiscuits · 26/03/2018 16:20

Worse day so far.
Hot chocolate and cake

3 pieces of buttered toast and humous then a packet of crisps and a really large bar of chocolate.
Every single thing eaten standing up.
This is why I got fat.

OP posts:
mama2005 · 26/03/2018 16:47

Draw a line Glitter - you’re allowed a bad day. You’re doing so well!

cheesemumma · 26/03/2018 17:33

@glitterbiscuits. Back on it today.bive been ok today.

Don't worry about it. That's life. As long as you don't do what I did and go up for 2 weeks. Enjoy it but back on the healthy eating train now!!
