Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

Thank you for the link to the great website Murinae! I've ordered two dresses from the £19 section as I have a wedding and hen do to go to in the next couple of months, and know I'm currently too fat to fit into my stock of posh frocks Sad

I love the Boden Lisa Ponte dress too - trying to decide whether to splash out £30 on one a size smaller (via Ebay) to give me something to work towards!

No weigh in for me tomorrow as we're on holiday - down in the South West at the moment and staying in a nice but freeeeezing B&B as the snow comes down Shock maybe it's a good thing I have a layer of blubber...?!

Monday 18th March

Glitterbiscuits 16 stones 1lb - loss 7 lbs

I have now lost 1 stone 1lb.

I’m also using face cream every day and taking vitamins.

If anyone is lurking come and keep me motivated. If I can do this anyone can. I’ve NEVER been anything other than overweight my entire life. This is the year I’m changing.

I‘ve not lost much this week just a pound but still better than nothing.

JanesTeddy · 19/03/2018 07:46

Morning

Monday 18th March week 9 for me

Today weight 18 12

Loss/gain -2

That is better than expected as had two meals out, which I don't normally have and the only thing on the menus I liked was Ham & Chips which of course meant dessert as well warm chocolate brownie with cream and then millionaire shortbread.

@Glitterbiscuits I've also started vitamins, big stonking tablets they are Wellwoman max, I will see if I feel any different with them, a friend recommended having a spoonful of
Diatomaceous Earth a day to help cleanse the inside but not to sure in that one.

Onward we must march past Easter which seems much too soon, I am now totally annoyed with the Egg displays and realising how little chocolate is actually in them.

sar302 · 19/03/2018 07:47

14 stone 12 - 1lb loss.

In the right direction after being static for two weeks, but not as much as hoped.

Need to get back on MFP and actually pay attention to my intake. Also wish the snow would go away, so me and baby could do some walking.

Here's to a bigger loss next week!

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 19/03/2018 08:24

this week's loss - 7lbs, making a total of 11lbs to date. I managed the whole weekend without actually wanting to snack on anything, and even went to the corner shop, bought just what we needed, and not the extra chocolate I would previously have done.

This week's plan is to get 3lbs off to make it a stone in total before the DDs come back for the weekend. Although it would be nice to get 5 off, which tips me down into the the next stone fingers crossed

antwaki · 19/03/2018 08:44

Morning everyone! Congrats to those who lost this week, really impressive. I'm 16st 8 - so 2 pounds back on his week. Which tbh considering I've had several days off my good eating plan plus a rather large night out for Paddy's night I'm surprised it wasn't more. Guess I know that stopping drinking (with the massive fry/carb craving the next day) is key for me. Felt sooo bad yesterday though at least I'm feeling 100% ready for a healthy food week. Keep on trucking ladies if this thread!

mrkaykay · 19/03/2018 09:19

212lbs so 3lbs down. I'm most happy about this as I've had easter eggs and chocolate to deal with being ill and tired last week.

glitterbiscuits · 19/03/2018 09:44

At least we are all still plugging away.

I am hopeful of seeing a 15 on the scales soon but what I really want is to see a 14 something on the scales at the start of Easter term. So I need a 4lb a week loss for the next 4 weeks.

One pound down for me. Going on holiday in 13 weeks and would love to be another one and a half stone down by then which is doable if I keep focussed. Started with the vitamins and the skincare too so thanks for those ideas. General question- do people find buying something to wear a little too small works as an incentive or does it just depress you? I tried on a dress and i’m Between sizes and don’t know whether buying the smaller one is a good idea?

mama2005 · 19/03/2018 10:34

Have put on 2lbs this week - but have had a big weekend away, made healthier choices, but had a lot of wine etc. Disappointed, but back on it today!

cheesemumma · 19/03/2018 10:42

Oh god, input 3lb on this week. Started my period yesterday so hoping some of it is water retention hahaha!! I'm still down 7lb from the start though. Hoping for a loss next week. I actually have to put the effort in though.

Wow some people have lost over a stone. How fantastic. We'll done guys. Xx

glitterbiscuits · 19/03/2018 11:07

@cheesemumma - you’ve been here since day 1. So get back on track!
It will be worth it.

cheesemumma · 19/03/2018 11:13

Thanks @glitterbiscuits. You're right. O need a kick up arse and to stop with the excuses. If I eat back on it today my period will be finished by next Monday vsobi could have a good loss. Come on I can do this.byour 1 stone in 3 weeks is going o inspire me!!

MinaPaws · 19/03/2018 14:15

Sad Had some really bad news this morning. Had already baked a cake for some clients and had no desire to share it. but when I got the bad news I ended up eating some, even though I've stuck to no sugar for a month.

Oh well, back on the wagon tomorrow.

Stickerrocks · 19/03/2018 17:29

Mina Sorry to hear that. The food thing only becomes an issue if you don't stop at a bit and keep going, thinking that you've completely blown things. Well done for only eating some and not the whole thing.

Mooey89 · 19/03/2018 21:56

mina sorry to hear about your bad news.

I lost 1.5lbs this week dispite it being my birthday week so 7.5 in 3 weeks.

glitterbiscuits · 20/03/2018 16:26

Sorry to read that Mina.

How has everyone been getting on today?
I’ve been a bit ‘snacky’ but solved my chocolate craving with 2 Oreos.
I did have a larger than usual lunch ( but not as much as pre diet) and I’ve just eaten a massive apple.

Not sure what will be for dinner.

OP posts:
glitterbiscuits · 20/03/2018 17:04

Oh and it’s 17 weeks, roughly, until Uk School holidays. So potentially 2 stones off between now and when they start.

OP posts:
glitterbiscuits · 21/03/2018 15:37

Anyone want a mid week weigh in tomorrow? Or is it just me who is getting obsessed?

OP posts:
GreyandGrumpy48 · 21/03/2018 16:15

I’m up for that- i’ve been focussed this week for the first time and I think it would help if there was some movement on the scales

glitterbiscuits · 22/03/2018 11:52

Well I did it. 15.13.

Admittedly as soon as I have a drink it will go back to 16 something but hopefully by Monday it will be a real loss.
Most of last year I hovered around 16.5 so I don’t look any different. I just ballooned to 17.2 over Xmas.
However I’m keeping up with skin care.

Fingers crossed I can stick with it.

OP posts:
GreyandGrumpy48 · 22/03/2018 13:54

Brilliant work. I’ve lost 2lb since Monday which will hopefully encourage me to be sensible at Pizza Express later

glitterbiscuits · 23/03/2018 07:06

Well done Grey. Hope you had a good time.

I’m heading towards that time of the month again so it will be interesting to see what I eat and how things reflect on the scales. I always assume I’m a bit bloated but I have never bothered to check.

I hope everyone else is lurking and will check in soon

OP posts:
Bowednotbroken · 23/03/2018 08:26

Well done glitter - that's great. I haven't lost anything this week but as I've sat on my sofa for most of it I'm actually pleased I haven't put any back on. So the scales still on 16 stones exactly. When I'm off crutches hopefully I can do better. I have been really good at eating just a bit of the chocolate stash and then saving the rest - very pleased at that. And with not being able to get out I can't buy any more once it's gone!
