Thin by Christmas! At least 5 stones to get rid of.

I have to lose 5 stones. 6 would be better. My excess weight is not helping my health. It’s one thing to worry about how I look but it’s really holding me back now. I’m tired and achey.

I’m pushing 50 so I really ought to get a grip!

My plan is to generally be healthier and eat better, eat less and squeeze in some exercise. Which is tricky because I work really long hours.

I’m starting now. I ate a huge Belgian bun earlier while standing up putting shopping away. Things like that need to stop.

If anyone wants to join please feel free but I intend to post even if I just talk to myself.

If I’m successful I’m going to treat myself to new clothes for Christmas. I’m in elasticated waisted jersey trousers now, ugh!

So sorry about your dog. It's horrible when that happens.

Congratulations on the weightless and I hope you get out with your puppy soon! X

MontanaSky · 12/03/2018 07:51

Hi
Am I able to join too?
Current weight: 14st 8lb
Target weight: 11st

I managed to lose 3st last year with Slimming World with a starting weight of 16st 1lb and was 12st 13lb at my slimmest.
I've gained over a stone after stopping going to group and basically mainlining junk food.
I feel really tired and sluggish all the time and rejoined SW last Thursday.
My weigh in day is a Thursday morning but I can update each Monday once I've replaced my scales.
I'm going to Disneyland Paris in December and am aiming to be at target by the time I get on the train 😁

JanesTeddy · 12/03/2018 07:51

Cheesemumma thank you, he was a lovely boy only 9 happy one moment, barking and having cuddles then just went to sleep and didn't wake.

May be that is the best way though? I have seen to many people and animals suffer horrendously just for a second of prolonged life.

2lb is a good loss, Im only getting big losses because I have so much to lose. They will soon peter out and down to 2-1lbs.

mama2005 · 12/03/2018 09:31

So sorry to hear your news JanesTeddy.

14 st 11 - 2lbs loss

Well done to everyone for still being here! I am going to think about little rewards for myself, great idea Glitter.

mrkaykay · 12/03/2018 11:17

215.2lbs so 0.6lb down (period and only started on Wednesday so better than nothing I suppose)

cheesemumma · 12/03/2018 12:53

@mrkaykay absolutely. That's what we have to say. As long as we continue to go in the right direction!!

glitterbiscuits · 12/03/2018 13:02

41 weeks until Christmas

Murinae · 12/03/2018 16:07

I was 16 st 6 this morning so lost 3 pounds. Not that good for first week but since we were away eating rubbish all weekend and even had fish and chips on Friday it’s ok.

RubySlippers77 · 12/03/2018 16:34

12st 11.5lb for me, STS since WW weigh in Thursday, but I'll take that as it's TOTM and I had an indulgent Mother's Day Grin

41 weeks you say Glitter? I have 35.5lb to go to my target weight so definitely could be thin by Christmas, assuming I don't scoff everything in sight on hols next week!!

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 12/03/2018 18:11

I managed not to go to the shop and buy chocolate yesterday, and today (my once weekly visit to the "big town") I didn't go into M&S and buy fruit crumbles, nor did I buy them at the M&S at the station, and nor did I buy chocolate in Sainsburys. Two days of following the plan exactly, despite an unexpected period yesterday, and once I get through the next few days and break the Galaxy and crisps habit, it will all be a lot easier.

Am hoping for a decent loss by next week, this week was staying the same Sad

slithytove · 12/03/2018 18:46

Ok I need to start as I am utterly miserable

Am 15 stone 9 and have put on and lost the same 2.5 stone over and over the last 3 years.

No idea how I’m going to do it but I absolutely have to this time. Hopefully the support here will help.

glitterbiscuits · 12/03/2018 20:52

Hello @slithytove! Great name!

Jump right in. More the merrier.

glitterbiscuits · 12/03/2018 20:55

I made Quorn and veg pasta, garlic bread and cheese for everyone. I had salad!

I’m entering diet week 3! I hope I can stick with it. I am so fed up with being fat!

I'm not very good at virtual weight loss groups, but I'm obviously not very good at real life ones either, or I wouldn't be in this mess! I've been calorie counting alongside DH for the past 4 weeks. I was 16-0 on 12 Feb and now I've dropped to 15-3 today. Hopefully I will see a 14 on the scales soon. At only 5'1" I currently feel as round as I am tall. I have a dream holiday booked for early July and I will measure success by whether or not I can fit in a particular posh frock for it.

Meanwhile DH started on 1 Jan and has already lost over 3 stone. I'm so proud of him, but envious that under the NHS plan he is following he can have 1900 calories each day whereas I'm eating between 1200 to 1500.

Can anyone recommend a good set of heavy duty scales, as ours can vary by 1-2lbs, so we find ourselves taking 3 readings & taking the middle one or average.

JanesTeddy · 12/03/2018 23:48

@stickerrocks. I went to slimming world for first few weigh in but also purchased weight watcher scales from Argos the £18 ones. Each time they agreed with the expensive slimming world set.

I was so happy about that couldn’t get on with Sw and was only paying the fee to be weighed as was actually following weight watchers online.

Stickerrocks · 13/03/2018 07:42

Off to look at Argos.

antwaki · 13/03/2018 10:14

A day late to post the Monday weigh in. 16st 10 to 16 st 6 for last week. Am pretty happy with this and wasn't totally horrible. Logged calories with MFP and did lots of walking. However have eaten rubbish (on top of all the healthy stuff!) yesterday and today and just ate wagon wheel and Freddo for breakfast pudding 🙄. Must get back on the willpower bus.

glitterbiscuits · 13/03/2018 10:30

I love the idea of a breakfast pudding! However- stop now.

OP posts:
antwaki · 13/03/2018 12:10

Haha! Yes have stopped and the suns come out so feeling full of resolve and good intentions.

glitterbiscuits · 13/03/2018 14:25

I was just saying that I wish it would stay rainy and cold until May. Then, when I take my big winter coat off, I will emerge like a butterfly.

I wonder how much weight I need to lose before anyone will notice?

cheesemumma · 13/03/2018 15:12

Ok guy help. A bad 2 days I've just want to eat (and have eaten) everything. I think I'm about to start my period- so it happens to me, but I have to learn to control it. Help me get my motivation back.

RubySlippers77 · 13/03/2018 15:21

I can certainly empathise cheesemumma!! I can fall off the wagon spectacularly at the wrong time of the month. Just bought WW magazine for a bit of motivation - if the people in there can do it, surely I can?!

cheesemumma · 13/03/2018 15:23

In need to make sure I get a grip now before I ruin the whole week.

Kneedeepinunicorns · 13/03/2018 15:28

May I join you?

I'm back at 15 stone having put on and lost and put on and lost 2 stone for about ten years now. Chronic pain and disability so I comfort eat horribly. I'm trying to go back to eating 95% fruit, veg and lean protein since grain/dairy/sugar makes pain worse, but not being able to exercise doesn't help. My biggest challenge.... sigh, portion size.

I'd love to get down to 10 stone.

Gingersstuff · 13/03/2018 15:50

I've found my people! Can I join please?
Started SW yesterday at a weight of 14 st 4 lbs at 5'6". Target weight 10 stone. Whippet thin as a kid and up til my mid-20s. It's been creeping on ever since. I'm not in bad health but my joints are starting to ache, I'm tired and sluggish and bloated and I have proper cankles Blush. A combo of too-big portions and really liking crap.
I've been thinking about this since completely pigging out at Christmas so it's taken me a while to get into the mindset that I am not a healthy weight and the blubber needs to go. My motivation is that I bagged a new contract Friday and I have 4 weeks to lose a stone which would see me back into my work wardrobe for my meeting with my new client. The alternative is buying a few new things in a bigger size which ain't going to happen.
Exercise wise I do ok since I have 4 big dogs. Dread to think what size I'd be without them Confused
