Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Link to the January thread here

Everyone welcome, new and old

I've got the vivoactive 3 naughty, I love it! Very accurate and handy for all the different kinds of activities I do. I had a fitbit charge HR and much prefer the Garmin!

I've eaten a pizza... and a Gü York cheesecake... sigh

I also have an extremely indulgent afternoon tea tomorrow. Not looking like a good weekend cals wise. It's also the suoerbowl tomorrow which means nachos and devilled eggs! Need to get some kind of exercise in!!!

Oh Also welcome Grooovy, I am also a newbie 🤗

Sorry for initiating all the chocolate talk everyone but it is my favourite subject 😀

KOKOstill doing very badly and I’ve got a calorie laden few days which are too difficult to get out of BUT I hope to join you by Wednesday next week when I am going to try my damndest to do well. I’m very honest so will only report the truth as to how I do, unlike my sister-in-law who pretends to slim and pretends to have done well and actually doesn’t do anything at all, but that’s another story. I usually do at least 14,000 steps per day though.

I will sort my chocolate habit out I really will. It’s a very bad addiction for me though. I stopped smoking some years ago, stopped drinking but the chocolate thing is by far the hardest. I never feel sickly or full like other people, I can just eat bar after bar and just want more.unfortunately little bars just make me worse.

PipGirl404 · 04/02/2018 00:30

I hear ya poor.
I don't get sick of chocolate either, it's nothing to be proud of and quite embarrassing but I once sat through a film and ate one of those "family size" sharing bars of galaxy... aye the massive one that is about 2000 calories or something Shock completely by myself!

Not2bObvious · 04/02/2018 09:29

A lazy morning here so far - lying in bed contemplating breakfast & the day ahead. Managed to come in under 2000 yesterday and my average weight this week is up.4 from last week. Felt v down after seeing a video of me at the gym (nothing sinister, private fb group, v positive showing how hard everyone is working at class)Two things struck me, when I think I’m working hard I’m like a sloth compared to others and I’m much bigger than I think. Oh sure I’m not vv overweight but it’s a layer of 2 stone draped over my frame that makes me chunky. At least realising this banishes the thoughts of I’m fine as I am, as I fit a size 10-12 (vanity ofc!)
Must do better this week

lastqueenofscotland · 04/02/2018 09:35

I didn't eat that much yesterday but I drank EVERYTHING. All the alcohol.
I feel horrific

Nursing a sore throat here. Soup has been the go to food. I'm being good. Smile

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 04/02/2018 13:48

I have the forerunner 35, not the vivosport, but it does come in nice colours - I have it in a really nice turquoisey colour which is lovely. I really like that you can set the watch to analogue display rather than digital as I think it looks nicer on my wrist like that (and I hate digital displays).

twinkledag · 04/02/2018 14:22

Good day so far for me today and I've decided to give up chocolate. I never used to eat it daily like I do now so I need to break the habit.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 04/02/2018 14:36

Hey all

Two bottles of low alcohol wine put me 300 cal over for the day, but then I'm still 100 cal under for the week (including bacon sarnies today!) so I'm happy enough with that. Something has disagreed with my ibs though (before the sandwich so can't blame the bread) - Im bloated so much that I look six months pregnant today!!

Other two meals for today are from the freezer stash - a red lentil and root veg casserole and a chickpea curry. Snacks are a banana and a graze box

Hoolahoophop · 04/02/2018 16:39

Pub las tonight and in-laws today means big pasta two days running plus desert. It's going to be a rubbish weekend and I care......whixh is better than January when I'd eat all the food and not care a fig.

nonfatbatman87 · 04/02/2018 17:59

Would anybody be interested in weight trackers

Kikisdeliveries · 04/02/2018 19:38

Someone called kikisdeliveries really needs to stop eating today.

I believe there's a 100% direct correlation between my desire to stuff in the carbs with a minor gin and wine frenzy the night before.

TheDonald · 04/02/2018 23:13

I'm just catching up on the thread. Welcome to even more new faces. Also @thecatofathenry WOW! You are doing brilliantly. What are you doing? I think you're losing enough weight for all of us!

I had a bit of a boost today. I've got a bad Achilles and the physio has told me to do calf raises while holding an 8kg weight. I don't have weights so I had the bright idea of lifting an unopened bag of cat litterGrin

I needed to weigh it so I stood on my scales without it then with it to check the difference.

When I was holding it I was the same weight I was last September! The full bag, which I struggle to lift, is what I've lost! No wonder I can run up hills quicker now (or I could before I knackered my Achilles!)

Therealjudgejudy · 05/02/2018 00:29

Hi everyone. My first post of February and I'm up crazy late. Decided to have a few drinks on Saturday after completing dry January and a few became loads Blush. I forgot how rubbish alcohol is after not having it for a while.

Off work tomorrow so will be in the gym at lunch time. Weighed myself in the gym on Thursday and was still bang on 9st.

Hopefully will sweat out the last of the alcohol tomorrow and get back to my good routine. Fingers crossed i didnt gain too much.

Not2bObvious · 05/02/2018 05:31

Another new week to start afresh, going to my morning bootcamp after missing them last week. Had pub grub yesterday alongside a few glasses of vino, no regrets - was very nice even if it did remind me why exactly I have 2 stone to lose. Hey ho, took years to accumulate, seems to be taking years to shed! Anyway it was a nice lift after feeling v meh. I’ve prefilled my Mfp entries, now all I need to do is stick to them. Shouldn’t be too difficult I have the dinner prepped & lunch will take 5 mins to assemble.
I think I might give up chocolate & crisps for lent, I used to give up alcohol too but nope this year choc & crisps will do. It ties in nicely with my Easter days away as well so who knows, it might help me get to 10’stone’something! Have a great day all

Silvertap · 05/02/2018 06:21

Hello. Can I join please?

My eating has got out of control. I'm happiest at 9st9 but am up to 10st9. I've been kidding myself that it's just a few pounds extra but it's now a stone.

Aim is to do mfp every day, eat more veg and complete c210k )I'm on week 3)

HairsprayBabe · 05/02/2018 07:13

Can someone please piont me in the direction of the wagon, I am failing spectacularly here 😐

I think I need to go back to basics because I am letting too many things slide. Same weight as last Monday, 10.6 need two angel weeks and a good weekend in the middle. I will be in the 9's for my birthday come hell or high water.

Doing egg fast lite for a few days to get my brain back in the zone. Rules are no snacks, 2.5l water a day, meals are to be eggs and green veg only with upto 1tbsp pf oil per meal, salt, pepper, broth and hot sauce are aloud.

Kikisdeliveries · 05/02/2018 07:37

Wow, I knew I indulged this weekend but today I'm up by 4 lbs this morning. I'm hoping that's at least 3 lbs of water retention.

lastqueenofscotland · 05/02/2018 08:45

I seem to have put a pound on overnight which I can't help but feel is unfair I was too ill to eat anything yesterday and was sick about 90 times. (Bloody wine)

HappyGowerGirl · 05/02/2018 09:22

Oh dear god, what a weekend. Too ill to run and too ill to eat anything else but carb. Plus alcohol, lots of it. Didn't even bother weighing myself this morning.... good luck all

PipGirl404 · 05/02/2018 10:04

Glad to see I'm not the only one suffering from a less than golden weekend. I feel unwell. Meh.
Also 4lbs up from the weekend... feel like I'm in a constant loop of gaining at the weekend then taking all week to get rid of it...

HairsprayBabe · 05/02/2018 10:43

I have decided I am going to try to boost my metabolism at work by being more active... I am going to try and get away from my desk once an hour and doing random exercises in the ladies....

I just did 100 squats, only took a few mins, I don't have great form but it has really woken me up!

At half 11 I am going to do 100 star jumps Grin

Here is to looking like a crazy person!

QuimReaper · 05/02/2018 11:23

Hello all! I had a shocker of a weekend too, sounds like it was universal. I had a very disappointing weigh-in on Friday - more or less stayed the same, had managed to creep down by about 200 grams, so still a kilo or so over my target weight and that was my last golden week until the end of the month. It'll be a miracle if I start March lighter than I started February...

Sorry koko I missed your post upthread - Quim how is team wotsit going? You've lost me there - team wotsit...?

TheCat I am absolutely staggered by your weight loss! That's over a stone a month, how on earth have you done it? Incredible achievement, well done!

For those asking about my hooping, I'm afraid I can't report any visible improvement to my tum and waist. I'm happy to stick at it because it's such an easy thing to do, and at the very least it must be burning off a few more calories than sitting on the sofa for those 40 minutes, so I'll be sure to report back!

Our cleaner's just cancelled on me so I'll have to kickstart my week with a couple of hours' housework, and sine DH is out tonight I'll dig out the virtuous broth I've had languishing in the freezer. Maybe if I'm REALLY good today it'll show on the scales on Thursday morning... Fingers crossed...

GrooovyLass · 05/02/2018 12:11

Well instead of rolling out of bed, picking up a tesco sandwich for lunch and having biscuits for breakfast, today I got up earlier, had cereal for breakfast and made some homemade soup for my lunch. I not only feel very virtuous but I feel like I have more energy unless that's just psychological?
